  1. This was our experience last year- although I think it lasted a little longer than 12 hours. Things smoothed out around 4:00 p.m. the first sea day. Very smooth from there, including on the way back.
  2. I'm not a veteran- haven't even done my first sailing on Celebrity yet. But I can tell you that in the Facebook group for my upcoming 4 night cruise going to Coco Cay in June there's definitely a lot of people bringing kids.
  3. Ok, thanks. I'll check a current sailing, the app doesn't have the wines tab for my cruise yet.
  4. Where are people finding the wines available in Luminae for their cruise? Our sailing is in June, and all I see are the two "featured" wines. Are we too far out from our cruise? Or am I looking in the wrong place (I'm currently checking where the dinner menus are located in the app)? Thanks!
  5. Definitely. I guess we're just "lucky" on this cruise (we prefer the beach cabanas).
  6. Supply and demand may dictate otherwise. On my upcoming June cruise there's only 1 beach cabana left (vs. 8 for overwater) and that beach cabana is $300 more than the overwater.
  7. Thanks so much for the reviews and pics! We'll be on the Reflection in a couple of months and this definitely got me even more excited for our cruise!
  8. Good to hear! We'll be sailing on her in June for the first time.
  9. Thanks! We're going to be on the Reflection soon, so good to hear that you enjoyed most of it. Maybe I'll throw a couple of rolls of premium TP in my suitcase to be on the safe side.
  10. I thought Ovation was a pretty good ship for Alaska, particularly with the enclosed Solarium and ability to watch the world go by during the day in 270. I also liked the Music Hall. But some people are excited that Quantum is coming to LA, and I don't really get that. I would sail Navigator over Quantum to Mexico every time. I think a Quantum class ship would be pretty boring for most itineraries, particularly if there isn't much to see outside between ports.
  11. Like jrapps we were also on the Ovation last summer, and did Endicott Arm/Dawes Glacier. Once you hit the Inside Passage (I think maybe late on the first sea day?) there's beautiful scenery everywhere. I spent a fair amount of time during the week either in the Solarium or in 270 just watching the scenery go by. I couldn't believe how beautiful it was all day, every day, even through most of the evening because the sun sets so ridiculously late and comes up so early. As for the morning where you do the glacier, I absolutely recommend getting up early. I know it's early, and it will be FREEZING. (Our week was unseasonably warm, and for most of the week I was in shorts and t-shirts- but that morning I was fully bundled with thick jacket, gloves, beanie, everything, and it was still a tad chilly.) But it was an amazingly beautiful sail to the glacier. We saw a bunch of seals hanging out on ice floes, water streaming down the hills on both sides, and just the most amazingly blue water. We watched pretty much all of it from our balcony, just ordered some room service breakfast and enjoyed it from there.
  12. What types of excursions do you normally like to do? Sightseeing, active, hang out at the beach, etc.? There are things you can do in/around Ensenada that I personally think are better than what the cruise line offers but it would help to have an idea of what you're looking for.
  13. Still getting an error message when I try to look at cabins for the cruise I'm perusing.
  14. Apparently, I'm the only person who's ever had to wait much to get off Navigator. The only time I sailed on her there was some delay in letting us off, and it was past 8:00 before they started letting people disembark. Having said that, I wouldn't worry about an 11:40 flight. John Wayne is the best, so even if you pull up to the airport at 11:15 there's a good chance you'll still make your flight.
  15. All of them, or just from the time Quantum shows up in town?
  16. Issue might be that there aren't a lot of ports on the Mexican Riviera that can handle a ship that large. From what I've read in the past, I don't know for sure.
  17. Thanks for posting this. I'm happy for all of the people who wanted to see a Quantum class in LA, but also very happy to see that the Navigator will still be doing its thing in Summer 2025.
  18. Very frustrating, and gives me reason to think that there's something to the chatter about RC replacing Navigator with something else, and possibly no longer offering the 3/4 night cruises out of LA. Which would be very upsetting.
