  1. Dramamine and ginger is great. Also, if you drink and know the seas are going to be rocky, hold off and don’t because it doesn’t help. Ondansetron while a great drug for general nausea and vomiting has been studied extensively with motion sickness and does very little if anything to help. Take it from a retired pharmacist. Different receptors in the brain. I knew one person on a cruise who swore it helped but I’m pretty sure it was probably just plecebo effect. Day after I can’t thing of anything except rest and plenty of fluids.
  2. I completely agree. No way there is no wind on the decks of a moving ship. As for the other things, maybe Viking is just not the cruise line for him and that’s fine. He has the right to express his opinions here. There are many good cruise lines out there.
  3. ‘That is a smart plan but as a retired pharmacist I can tell you most plans do not refill either at retail or mail order at 61 days. You had a good plan. Most plans would be closer to 70 to 75. But still a smart plans to stockpile.
  4. The generic name of the medication will always be the same no matter what country you visit. Only the brand name will be different in other countries. As long as you know the generic drug name you are fine, You are correct that a doctor from one country cannot write a prescription in another country.
  5. ‘I’m curious why you think Oceania would be any different? Oceania uses the Insignia for their world cruises which was built in 1998. Of course it has been refurbished several times but the size of the ship is the same as the one Azamara is using and is about the age. They are both former R class ships originally built for Renaissance Cruises. If the Azamara ship creaks, I’m sure the Oceania ship will as well. This is not meant as a reflection of Oceania, they are a top notch cruise line. I just want you to be aware that refurbishment is for the inside of the ship and cannot fix creaking
  6. Keep in mind the prices could all change when the internet provider is changed to Starlink. Theoretically, Starlink should make internet costs cheaper for cruise lines. However if the cruise lines decide to pass along the savings to us remains to be seen. We also don’t know when it will happen. Just that they announced it.
  7. You are correct. Starlink should work on transatlantic crossing. Otherwise why would Cunard and so many cruise lines be moving to them? I also looked on their website on see the same map you did. By switching to Starlink, the internet should be much improved on Cunard, although unfortunately we don’t have a timetable right now.
