As others have said...Future Cruise Deposit (FCD) is the way to go. Trying to take the time to actually book while on a cruise just takes time away from your current cruise...unless you already know EXACTLY what you want and have all the details down pat. I could never book this way...I suppose others do. I prefer to take my time (on-line) and study all options and THEN book, using my FCDs.

Alaska Cruise Tour Question (What's included?)
Rick&Jeannie replied to sirclean's topic in Princess Cruises
Sorry, I have never done a Connoisseur Tour (would like to!) but your question got me curious. In regards to whether or not excursions are "included"...I would think not. I started a "mock" booking for a Connoisseur Tour that included Fairbanks and as you progress thru the booking it lets you see excursions. For each location there are listed excursions along with their associated cost. So...it sure looks like excursions are "extra". Maybe someone who has done this (as you requested) can chime in and add. -
I REALLY hope they have fixed the lack of notification! That has been an issue since the app was first released. Now, my idea of a "notification" is just like that of receiving a text; audible PLUS visual. If it doesn't do both it's just not "up to snuff".

DOH! I meant to say that but got ahead of myself! 😒 -
Caribbean Canada New England or Majestic Alaska?
Rick&Jeannie replied to Kitty Ellas Mom's topic in Princess Cruises
It sounds very much like you *might* be booked on the same Canada/New England cruise that we are booked on. Having done BOTH of these itineraries previously, it's REALLY hard to beat Alaska! We've done it 3 times now. Yes, a bit more of a hassle to get there but I'd be willing to bet that you will NOT be disappointed! Both itineraries have pros and cons...but starting off your "cruise career" with Alaska just might SPOIL you! Don't even consider another cruise line for Alaska. Princess has been doing Alaska for over 50 years and is recognized as "experts" in Alaska. -
Sorry...never heard of Brooks Falls, though based on the context in your post it appears to be an Alaskan itinerary. It might help to post what port you are talking about.

Princess EZ Air - early ticketing penalty
Rick&Jeannie replied to Koliver63's topic in Princess Cruises
It's really disappointing to hear when new cruisers get the short end of the stick in situations like this. It just goes to the fact that you REALLY need to read EVERYTHING...and maybe ask questions here on CC. Plenty of help/advice available (but don't blindly take the first bit of advice offered! Wait for a real consensus of answers!) -

Which Cruises Do You Have Booked For 2023
Rick&Jeannie replied to Jeter02's topic in Princess Cruises
I only mentioned 2024 to "explain" what that fifth cruise was that we have on the books. Sorry! You set the rules up front saying "2023". 😄 -
I never book through a TA so that *might* explain the difference...but all of my OBC always shows up in the "Payments" section (on the web...don't know about the app. I *try* to IGNORE the app until I get on the ship!)

I'm pretty sure we did at least one cruise with you...maybe two last year.

Which Cruises Do You Have Booked For 2023
Rick&Jeannie replied to Jeter02's topic in Princess Cruises
For the first time EVER...we have FIVE cruises booked although only 4 are in 2023 (so far!). That's quite a change for us. We typically sit around until we're bored out of our minds and then book something...very often only 30-45 days out! This year we're trying to "spread the (lack of) wealth around" by actually doing some real planning! 1) Panama Partial transit, Feb. - Caribbean Princess 2) Iceland/Norway, May - Sky Princess 3) Mexican Riviera, June - Carnival Panorama 4) Canada/New England, Sept. - Island Princess (group cruise with Don Terris...first ever group cruise) 2024 1) South Pacific, April - NCL Spirit -
I thought maybe we could deviate a bit from the range of complaints and other such topics and try something different. How many of my fellow Princess cruisers actually sailed in 2022? Please only respond if you truly *did* sail in 2022...primarily on Princess but feel free to include sailings on a different cruise line as well. For myself, we did 4 cruises but had 6 on the books. We literally "missed the boat" on the second booked for the year due to a delayed Delta flight. The third we cancelled ourselves due to the concern over Omicron. 1) Sky, Eastern Carib. 2) Sky TA (missed) 3) Grand, Hawaii round trip, LA (cancelled) 4) NCL Gem, Greek Islands 5) Discovery, Alaska 6) Island, Oktoberfest Capitals of Norther Europe What about you?

Sounds like you picked up some casino OBC.

You win! -
Been there, done that! On our first cruise after the restart my medallion wouldn't even scan at check in! Had to go straight to GS to get resolved. I suspect they had a bunch of medallions just sitting around with nothing better to do than to drain themselves waiting for restart! 😄

That phone number listed in your screenshot is the main Princess call-in number... It would really be interesting to know exactly what that charge was...
-
As usual... @skynighthas nailed it! No reservations for shows (for the common folk!) Pros and cons with this...you always get the people who try to "reserve" a whole row of seats for "their friends/family". 😠

Diamond - Hawaii Jan 6-22, 2023. Semi Live
Rick&Jeannie replied to cruzin4us's topic in Princess Cruises
The bread crumbs just seem to spread out ALL OVER our table...we're almost embarrassed because it looks like a table of kindergartners was eating there! Following along...especially interested in how good/bad the internet is. Did you post the pics up to this point via shore service or did you go through the ship? -
Be VERY careful if you are counting on using your birth certificate!!! It all depends on your itinerary. And...there are certain restrictions on the actual birth certificate, as well. It cannot be a copy and (if I remember correctly) it cannot be the one issued by the hospital. You have to have a certified certificate from your local health department or whoever handles them in your locale. MAKE SURE YOU UNDERSTAND ALL THE RULES AND REGS! You don't want to be denied boarding because of "fine print"!

Hmmm..don't know about that. I would be very surprised if that were the case. But I *did* make a phone call from a Holiday Inn Express once! 😄

Picking Arrival Group Diamond Princess Jan 29
Rick&Jeannie replied to hozelovr123's topic in Princess Cruises
You *might* get a better answer by checking on your Roll Call (if there is one.) Regardless...you really can IGNORE the arrival time and/or boarding group. NOBODY is ever asked to confirm their time/group. This was simply a way to *try* and keep everyone from rushing the gate when they start boarding. MANY threads here on CC about this... You will NOT be turned away! -
Recent experience from Vancouver disembarkation
Rick&Jeannie replied to WaggesAZ's topic in Princess Cruises
I can probably beat this one...our local airport has 5 gates...but is considered crowded when only 2 planes are in! Only enough ground crew to service one plane at a time. -
Yes...but we always just use the boarding pass available on our Delta app.

Showing blue lane but filled out everything
Rick&Jeannie replied to envy4u's topic in Princess Cruises
Also check to make sure you have entered an "Emergency Return Airport" code. Can't recall exactly where it is but that *will* keep you from Green Lane!
