  1. @Jim_Iain I had forgotten about them promoting Edges repositioning to AU/NZ in that manner. Very well could be it!
  2. I’ve seen numerous recent ads with the tag line “journey WonderFull” with images of the global destinations Celebrity sail to, but nothing specifically marketing a world cruise. There was also an ad with a tag line “The World is open” a few years ago, but it was more aspirational and not specific to any one destination and used to show that Celebrity can help you see the world.
  3. without evidence my only guess would be central portion of the rooftop garden. It is the only large open deck area I can think of.
  4. What is current status of Lattes/espresso/cappucino drinks at al Bacio - are those still included in classic package or now only included in premium package? Classic package description no longer mentions them
  5. I tried multiple times the first three days of my Caribbean Princess sailing in December to get through to room service to switch out the mini for beer and water. Could never get through and didn’t fancy spending entire holiday in cabin dialing room service. Crew call in app alway said “no operators available” or some such. Cabin steward and guest services no help - call room service. Total clown show and I gave up. Had the Plus package so in end was not an issue, but it was more the principal. Drank the soft drinks we wanted from the mini and left the rest
  6. To the OP, and anyone else with the same issue? Did you book through a travel agent? If so you reservation may be part of their contract promotional group space which will result in you not being allowed to add FBC on the consumer website, however the travel agency can do it on their end w/o calling. As travel agency promotional group space has special booking terms the flights could go unpaid at final and result in the entire block of rooms cancelling for lack of payment, not just the individual booking. This is the #1 reason you may be encountering this issue.
  7. Also a plus for Many on the Amsterdam-Budapest itinerary is the additional time in Vienna vs sailing the reverse.
  8. OP was asking about 2025, not 2024. 2024 Alaska sailings were opened for bookings last fall. 2025 are not currently available. Glad to know you got the date you actually wanted 👍
  9. I have seen nothing for any Celebrity destination (other than Galapagos) beyond April 2025. Are you sure you booked 2025 and not 2024? There are two Celebrity sailings departing 9/6/2024 - Edge 7nt round trip Seattle and Summit 7nt sound bound from Seward to Vancouver. The only Alaska 2025 sailings that I am aware have been released to date are on NCL. Celebrity Alaska 2025 will probably be released sometime in Oct/Nov of this year.
  10. Happy to help you spend your money - LOL. Hope your bid is successful and you enjoy creating some amazing memories together!
  11. Sounds like a spend of $70-100ish/pp/day to me. The extra access Retreat spaces(Sun deck, lounge, Luminae) and increased space in the Sky Suite (with a REAL balcony) outweigh the loss of access to BLU and the thermal suite in my opinion.
  12. For me it would depend on a)which ship, b)minimum bid amount, c)length of cruise and d)number of sea days. I’d have to take all 4 items as whole to determine if it was worth the extra spend or not.
  13. I know she is fourth in class and twin sister ship toBeyond, but there seems to be far less “buzz” around Ascent. I Have yet to see any construction updates/pictures, etc.
  14. Thanks for the insight. We are considering cruising with Viking and it seems due to their large fleet they tend to move guests from one ship to another (luggage moved whilst guests off touring) avoiding intermediate hotels more than some others when water levels are low. Would that be an accurate assessment?
  15. Trying to plan a Amsterdam to Budapest Rhine/Danube River cruise for summer 2024. While I know we can never predict the exact water levels at any one time, which months have typically suffered most from low water issues? We were looking to cruise late July - Mid August for me Mum's 75th if that helps in the discussion. Sorry in advance if the topic has been discussed elsewhere but I am new to the River Cruising forum
  16. In my case it did not work (I requested in app and verified it was there several times before sailing) and my cabin steward was no help in remedying the issue. Hopefully you will fare better. Perhaps it is ship specific as the Crown, Ruby and Emerald have a different shower head/connection than do the Grand and Caribbean. Perhaps only the three Crown class ships can actually accommodate the request? Crown class Grand class
  17. I tried this for my sailing on the Caribbean Princess last December. Upon arrival we had the standard fixed shower head. I asked our cabin steward about getting a hand held shower head and he stated it was not possible. I did not press the issue and made due with the fixed head for the 10 days.
  18. Viking now have their own dock on the Port de Grenelle just to the southwest of the Tour Eiffel (see below image). Should be a 15-20 min walk at an easy pace.
  19. No experience with this itinerary but during June the sunset in Paris will be between 945-10pm. Visiting in the early evening will still yield fantastic views and sunset from the tower is spectacular looking over the city.
  20. Apparently they belong to some mysterious man named Gym, whom I have never met….. Seriously though. This is some ITiot cutting and pasting to the app without regard to actual policy or procedure. General fitness center use will not require sign-up As recently as last weekend I had Cosmopolitan main “diNNing” room listed in the app for my up coming Ascent sailing along with Normandy select specialty dining, Tuscan Crlebrity Selecty anytime diningand Cyprus Celebrity selects dining specialty restaurant. A misspelling of the word dining and 4 different terms, none of which were correct, for the 4 included restaurants. Like I said an ITiot with no clue cutting and pasting and misspelling…… probably has never been any closer to a cruise ship than their photoshop stock folder and keyboard
  21. It’s Royal Caribbean. Of course will be a fee to use the new Hideaway Beach. Expect “demand based pricing” like they do with everything else to extract the maximum revenue from their traveling ATM’s, err I mean “guests”
  22. I just have to say how comforting it is for age-old cruise critic thread classics like gratuity, dress code, chair hogging, etc to be back. It just makes life seem so much more normal! Can you remove the auto gratuity with the intention of tipping in cash. Yes. Should you. To me that is a personal and private decision. I leave mine in place and tip additional for exceptional service as I see fit. Others may do something different, which I fully respect.
  23. RJE23 has been replaced with FR23 and only applies to 2023 River voyages. Gives $ off, reduced $25 deposits and free air for most itineraries/dates
  24. @jwlane thanks! That's what I was hoping to hear as I booked cabin 3187. This should give us ease of access to everything!
  25. I have an odd question - per the below screen capture it appears that the port side hallway of oceanview cabins dead ends and has no outlet near the Grand Plaza/Guest Services. Is this true, or is there actually a door in this area somewhere that is just not articulated?
