  1. We're going to buy a couple in the tourist shops when we arrive in BA.
  2. We bought The Wager, will be reading it on our voyage. 🙂
  3. We live in Florida. It was 62 this morning and we're in long pants, long sleeved shirts and jackets. 🙂 But I do have two dresses, so people will see a lot of them. 🙂
  4. Because my suitcase will be full of cold-weather gear. 🙂
  5. Is that the main dining room or Pinnacles? I'm wondering whether we should book specialty dining on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, or New Year's Eve, or just a regular sea day.
  6. Thank you. I'm interested in how the Panama Canal goes, as I've been reading about the wait times, the backlogs, and the limiting of ship allowed in because the water levels are so low.
  7. I find that in hotels as well. I guess that's the way they organize them, in the set, and it's easier to just deliver the entire package than to sort one out.
  8. My biggest request is always extra towels. I see that's not an option.😉
  9. We're doing Eurodam for the 22 day South American & Antarctica in December. I'm really looking forward to it, as we did HAL for Alaska. What I like about them is the naturalist on board, with daily lectures and outdoor nature watches. I still am more comfortable with Royal, mostly because I have sailed more times with them on a variety of ships.
  10. My neighbor used to be one of those artists. He just found out that his family is safe, but it's been a long day of worry. 😞
  11. Thank you, but this seems a bit more extreme than typical. 😞
  12. I was wondering if this was from extraordinary rainfall, or unusual glacial melt. They are saying it was 3 feet above the record high water mark. 😞
  13. We carry on a backpack/beach bag with our swimwear in it. Tradition is to be in the pool with the first frozen drink before we set sail.
  14. Cruise ship NORWEGIAN PRIMA broke off her moorings in the afternoon Jul 15 at Zeebrugge, in strong wind weather. Gangways were dragged and fell into water. No injures, the majority of passengers went ashore. https://www.fleetmon.com/maritime-news/2023/42433/cruise-ship-norwegian-prima-broke-moorings-lost-ga/
  15. Where does one get this milkshake? 🙂
  16. That is my question. That video of the flooded crew hallway looks like there is a broken door or something. It would be interesting to know where that was.
  17. If you were a new cruiser, how would you know there was no danger? If the conditions on board were bad enough that many people seem to have been awake, they could have made a bridge announcement. They certainly could have acknowledged that it happened during morning announcements. Communication could have avoided a lot of this.
  18. I imagine it was a lot of work for the crew, especially room stewards. They person who was on board talked about broken glass in her cabin and hers was probably not the only one. But they DID manage to leave that day, so it was cosmetic, not structural.
  19. About 30 seconds in. https://www.nbcnews.com/nightly-news/video/carnival-cruise-passengers-outraged-after-terrifying-ordeal-through-storm-178145349517 Other coverage pointed out that most of this was overnight when they normally do not do announcements.
  20. I just saw the report on the evening news. While they showed the previously mentioned flooded halls in the crew areas, there was some man sloshing around in a hallway with the passenger area carpets.
