  1. My biggest shock was a transatlantic out of Lauderdale. We were planning a land vacay after we arrived, and had a bottle of American rye for a friend we were going to visit. I had it wrapped in bubble wrap, with a luggage tag on it, fully expecting to turn it in and get it back the last night. They didn't even notice. We kept it in the safe the entire voyage.
  2. The Champagne Bar is now the R Bar, right across from Guest Services.
  3. Carry on. Ours are in a backpack and never got a second look.
  4. I don't know why his facebook page is missing, I hope he gets it back. He said he's coming back to Mariner after his break, but I don't know when he leaves it.
  5. We did not spend much time there, as it wasn't a comfortable space for us. However, it had people in it during open hours. It's the closest thing they have to a sports bar, from what we could see. Televisions, high tops and stools, and the bar.
  6. We started on interior cabins, until we could afford ocean-view and then balconies. We've gone back to interior when the price was right to sneak in an affordable cruise. As has been pointed out, you're all on the same ship. They are GREAT for sleeping because it's darker (bring a little battery-operated tea candle for the bathroom if you want). Have a great cruise!
  7. As soon as you see your cruise docs available on the app, you will find your luggage tags on the last page. I prefer to print mine, but you can always get them at the port.
  8. This is the part that confuses me. On lobster night, EVERY TIME, the waiter asks if we want more. Some are more pointed and practically beg us to take a second tail. When one person at the table accepts a second one, the waiter ALWAYS brings a plate with 3-4, asking if anyone else wants one. So there seem to be some very mixed signals here.
  9. I've never had an issue with adjoining cabins. I've only had one or two problems with noisy neighbors, and neither of them had a connecting door.
  10. It's been corrected. It originally said 5 weeks, which was really hoping was an error and not a quote.
  11. Please make sure your balloons do not escape your room. They are deadly to sea life.
  12. I am a bit concerned that the doctor, who apparently does not know the mother, named her in the article.
  13. It's not on the cruise planner for our January cruise. Do you remember when you booked yours?
  14. Correct. Thanks. But since the munchkin wasn't on Jamaican territory when it showed up, there should be no birthright there. I'm thinking the parents might be American because they are getting airlifted to Miami. Great job by the doctors on board!
  15. I searched the facial social media, and youtube. Found only the one shown above. Perhaps it will come later. I'll search again in a few hours. Thanks.
  16. Interesting question. She was not born in Jamaica, and I have no idea if they have birthright citizenship. If the mother is American, the baby is a citizen of the US.
  17. We are cruising on Jewel on January 6 and the app still has the old menus.
  18. I was looking at some short 3-4 days out of Canaveral on Independence, normally about $5-600 for a balcony. They want over $900 - the $500 is now for an oceanview. We'll be saving our money and doing land vacations until they can settle this out.
  19. This makes no sense. We have always had waiters practically beg us to take a second lobster, and if one person at the table says yes, they bring 3-4 and try to give talk someone else into taking one.
