As of now 191 people have voted. 133 chose Increasing prices.
As a percentage of people voting this is 69.6% ( 133 divided by 191 multiplied by 100)
The percentage shown 25.38 is calculated as a percentage of the total votes 524 ( 133 divided by 524 multiplied by 100). This has the effect of thinking 524 have voted when only 191 people have voted.
To calculate the proper percentage of people voting for each category, in your calculations you need to divide by the Number of voters and NOT the total number of votes.
The % quoted are very misleading and underestimate. At the time of writing there have been 67 voters, 44 of whom chose increased prices, 45 chose quality of food. As a former maths teacher I would calculate these as approximately 66% or 2/3 (44/67 & 45/67). The % quoted are probably of the total number of votes approximately 180 at my guess.
Didn’t visit future cruises on recent Silhouette cruise. Example of HAL T/A typically. 2024 cruise is over 25% more expensive than recent 2023 X cruise to Scandinavia. Probably more hotel-based holidays from now on until quality & value return.
You’re lucky I can’t get the dining credit showing at all. Perhaps by booking for 2 people you used both of your 2 included SD meals. Does your partner still have 2 remaining SD credits?
We were on the previous cruise and can confirm the poor menu choices, compared to Infinity only a few weeks before. Trying Princess next month so we’ll see but early indications not looking good. Probably more P&O ex-Southampton in future.
Prefer Azamara to X, better food in bith MDR & specialitiy restaurants and smaller ship suiting quieter ambience. But have not booked recently as Azamara having problems with IT since they migrated to their own system. Customers reporting errors on bookings and really difficult to get corrected pre-sailing, everything seems correct & OK when onboard though. Both starting to price me out of suites.
Wouldn’t Az immediate future given IT problems & fact that prices seem to offer little value for money. Last cruise March in suite 7 days Canaries < £200 ($250 US) pppd. Now up to £500 ($625). At least loyalty tier now finally correct but points error in my favour!
Just had the rejection email for Silhouette Jul24 out of Southampton. One of my bids was for Aqua ( min £80 reduced to £40 max £300, bid £150). Interestingly doing a dummy booking now after the email, there are still 3 unsold Aqua rooms! So it appears Celebrity may also include an absolute minimum bid especially on a virtual sell-out cruise.
