  1. Let me put this another wayā€¦if you want to be scared senseless by an animal that wants to get somewhere fast and leans over the edge close to fallingā€¦then by all means rent the donkeyšŸ¤¦ā€ā™‚ļø
  2. A word of advice on Santorini. The island can handle one large cruise ship well, maybe 2. If you look around and see 3 or more consider your options. One, just go ashore and walk around do not wait in line for more than 90 minutes for a cable car up to the next levelā€¦or two stay on board and enjoy a sea day. Do not attempt to walk up and getting on a donkey would be one of the worst choice youā€™d ever make. Good luckšŸ§
  3. Megan the Allure is our favourite ship as wellā€¦donā€™t forget the Brazilian restaurant in the solariumā€¦itā€™s a specialty restaurant but itā€™s excellent and the salad bar is very good also. Youā€™ll have the meat sweats if you gošŸ˜Ž have a great trip.
  4. We are currently on the Summit going thru the Panama Canal in a couple of daysā€¦heading to LA. Our cabin has been freshly decorated and the Solarium is in great shape. The staff is very accommodating especially helping us with the burial at sea of my BILā€¦weā€™d sail this ship again in a heartbeat.
  5. We are sailing on April 20ā€¦this will be our 3rd time on the Summit. The last cruise was in February 2020 and then Covid shut everything down. In 2016 the ship had gone through some updates and we loved it but we could see some wear and tear. In 2020 it had been revolutionized and what a difference it made. So donā€™t know what to expect this time but itā€™s 14 nights and weā€™re cruising and you canā€™t beat that šŸ˜Ž
  6. Sidā€¦maybe make it an early night, youā€™ve been up a long timeā€¦just a thoughtšŸ§
  7. I know somewhere it says this but what time do you fly home?
  8. Exactly what I was thinkingā€¦early night coming up šŸ§
  9. Gregā€¦ For what itā€™s worth, we sailed out of Galveston with 23 people on our 45th anniversary cruise. On the last day of our cruise the captain made an announcement around noon to tell us about the fog. He said multiple ships had been unable to dock because of the dense fog so just a heads up we might be delayed. Since I was responsible for getting people home it wrecked my last day. He said they were going to drop the hammer and get in as early as they could but no guarantees. He said one ship had to wait a day to dockā€¦yikes. Anyways it worked out but I resolved to never sail out of Galveston ever againā€¦hope you donā€™t run into this problem šŸ§
  10. It was the school system it was extremely bad and we knew we had to get back to something betterā€¦but that was over 50 years ago Iā€™m sure itā€™s much better now.
  11. My parents lived there from 1967 to 1983ā€¦ they built a hotel on St.Lawrence Gap in 1968 and another on the beach in the early 70sā€¦I headed back to Canada to go to teacherā€™s college but finished gr.12&13 first in Stratford Ontarioā€¦my one brother followed me became an engineer the other hung around for a few yearsā€¦our sister went to Bishop Strahan for HSā€¦none of us wanted to live there except my youngest brother.
  12. I think youā€™ll enjoy Barbadosā€¦my parents moved us to the island in 1967, 4 kids and a total culture shock. Saint Lawrence Gap is interesting but exploring Bridgetown can be funā€¦if you like rum. I could go on but there is not enough space to talk about living there. Have funā€¦
  13. Without a doubt 1) Air Canada sucks and 2) Pearson is absolutely abysmalā€¦I say that as someone who lives about 90 minutes away. If I could fly another airline and not leave from Toronto I would.
  14. Any reason why they changed their policy? We were on the Equinox in May and it was 16 and over in the Solarium then.
  15. DaKahunaā€¦ I have a question about smoking on the Harmony. My brother just boarded the Oasis today and of course headed to the Solarium. He was shocked to find people smoking in the loungers behind the bar in the shade. Was smoking allowed in the Solarium on the Harmony?
  16. Thanks for doing this review. We were on the Harmony shortly after it first sailed. Although it is a wonderful ship it was one and done for us. My wife and I always hang out in the solarium, mostly for the shade up by the bar but certainly for the pool which for some reason RC decided to exclude on the Harmony. We donā€™t like the main pools and enjoy the pool area to cool off, so for us we wonā€™t be back. Weā€™re on the Oasis April 23-30 and your review is really making us look forward to that cruise šŸ˜Ž
  17. Iā€™d have to say that steak looks like something from the bottom of a shoešŸ§
