  1. First of all a Happy New Year from Germany! We are actually planning our next cruise with the QV in July 2023 (Nothern Europe and Baltic V320B). The Smart Price will be 2.000 Euros cheaper than the Premium Price for all 4 of us together. This is a lot of money and is it worth to book the Premium price for choosing a cabin, chosing the sitting times and $175 onboard credit per person ($500 for all of us)? We are World Club Member "Gold" so perhaps we can get some advantages from this instead? I have never booked "Smart" so I am really looking forward to your opinion and experiences when booking "Smart" Thanks! Thorsten
  2. We were on both ships this year. A Norway tour with QV and a TA with QM2 and I have to say that I love the QV a little bit more. Why? The atmosphere is more familiar in my opinion. It is a smaller ship and more compact than the QM2. Everything which is hugh on QM2 is smaller and cosier on QV. I love the theater more at QV and the Lido restaurant is better planned with way more windows to sit. If you like a more packed and familiar athmosphere than the QV is better. But.....the QM2 is more...more stable. I had some seasickness on the Norway tour but nothing on the TA. It was interesting for me also to compare these two ships because we only traveled with the QM2 before. If I would choose a ship for a world cruise (which we really plan to do in some years) I go for the QV.
  3. I have to say that I am a little bit dissapointed about the maiden voyage of Queen Anne. It seems that there will be no meeting with one of the other Queens on that voyage.
  4. We did an TA with our two girls (22 and 17) and were afraid that this type of cruise will bored them but I have to say that the opposit happened. They were in action all of the day and took part in a lot of the daily programm events.....and we are Germans where the first language is not English!
  5. We stayed in a sheltered balcony cabin (Deck 5) for the first time durting our TA this October and I have to say that we liked it very much. It is a plus to get fresh air and you can easily sit in comfort when it is windy or even raining. We would book it again.
  6. I have to say that we only have booked the maiden voyage because of the "maiden voyage". So for us it may be better to travel in May instead of January. But I can really understand all of your thoughts about the situation.
  7. I have no chance to fill out the form for my youngest daughter. Hope we will not get any trouble boarding in on Friday?
  8. Yes. Second cabin with a 22 and 17 year old person.
  9. I have two booking numbers. One for a cabin for myself and my wife and another booking number for another cabin with my 2 daughters. I can only will out the form for my 20 year old daughter. For the other one they told me to contact guest 1?
  10. I am in New York right now and we have to fill out the online health form prior to our boarding on Friday. How do I do that online for my under 18 year old daughter ?
  11. Quick update. We all have a great time with lots of impressions. The Hotel is better than my first impressions were. QM2 will be on Friday.
  12. I have made it. Sitting in my hotel. Thanks you all for your support. It really helped. The Singapore Airlines Crew is great. They saw that I was very nervous and spoke to me a lot. The Knickerbocker Hotel is ok but not a 5 Star Hotel. Jetlag is heavy at the moment and New York is very full. First complete day tomorrow!
  13. I am on the plaine...no going back. .lets go. Everything will be fine😀
  14. Good morning. Sitting in the Air Canada Lounge. Only 1 hour to go...🙄
  15. It feels so good reading all of your postings. I am at my hotel room at the airport. Only a few hours to go. 🤪
  16. Thanks all for the kind words. This helps a little bit. We are on the train to Frankfurt at the moment and the plaine will start tomorrow morning. We are going to the MET Opera to see "Medea"
  17. We will be staying at the Knickerbocker Hotel at Times Square and I guess we will do all the tourist highlights and of course shopping. And we will be going to the MET.😀
  18. Hello ! Today is the day! We will be leaving in the afternoon to Frankfurt airport for an overnight stay. Tomorrow we will be flying with Singapore Airlines Business Class to New York for a 7 day stay. After this the QM2 will bring us back to Germany over the Atlantic on October 7th. I have to admit that I am very scared about the flight. And this may not be the right forum but writing calms me down a little bit. Since I was a kid I was dreaming to travel to or from the US by ship. A classic TA and of course with the QM2. And today my dream will come true. My wife asked me yesterday: "We will be on the Atlantic for 6 days. Only water around us for a long time with no going back. Are you scared about it?" And I answered: "No, because the QM2 was build for this and she is the only ship on which I would travel over the Atlantic." And thats the point. I am scared to fly 8.5 hours with the A380 from Singapore Airlines in Business Class. One of the best airlines in the world with I guess one of the best airplane who will be checked more than any other vehicle in the world and build for bringing me over the Atlantic. On the other hand I am so happy to be on the QM2 for such a long time. So....here I go. Hoping that my next posting will be from my hotel in New York. Keep fingers crossed.....NY and QM2 here we come. Thorsten
  19. We are on the TA cruise M232 which will depard in New York October 7th to Hamburg. On the Cubnard internet site this will be a "Voyage with standard requirements", which means no testing for us. Yesterday I received an email from Cunard. I guess it is the normal "what to do before you sail" email which all the informations about my cruise. In this mail I have to present a test for us. Very confusing for me too.
  20. Sad news. We are shocked and very sad here in Germany. She did so much for the friendship between the UK and Germany and we will be forever grateful for that.
  21. My deepest respect for her and I hope and pray that she will be back soon. All the best from Germany
  22. Thanks for the report. We will do a TA on October 7 from NY to Hamburg, Germany. Did you need a Covid test to go onboard in NY? Greeting from Germany!
  23. I have to say that I am a little bit confused about the situation. We will do a TA on 7th October from New York via Southampton to Hamburg. The German Cunard site says: Test needed. Reading the postings here I understand that no test is needed on that kind of cruise, because we will not stop in Canada (hope so...but...why not😂). New York to Hamburg....To test or not to test, that´s the question.
