  1. Tuesday 12 September. A very bright moon and Venus this morning at first light. Seas remain calm and skies clear, well away of the storms to the west and south.
  2. Unfortunately many (most?) ports ban taking any food or drink off the ship. Sometimes there are Labrador or beagle quarantine detection dogs to assist with enforcement. I always thought our two labradors would have made great quarantine dogs in their day. They could find sausages or cheese in anything!
  3. Monday 11 September. Sunrise, moonrise, and Venus rise on the middle day of our TA. Venus is at the upper right just above the cloud, a small white dot whose pixel will hopefully get through Cruise Critic image compression.
  4. Sunday 10 September sunrise off QE's port bow.
  5. Here's another QE painting, located off the grand lobby on deck 3. Both the ship in the foreground and the port in the background have changed a lot since the painting was done.
  6. QE's 2024 schedule shows a longer Alaska season and then an earlier return to Australia, via San Francisco and Honolulu, rather than the Canal and Mediterranean voyages happening this year.
  7. Correct! The detail in the paintings is impressive.
  8. Saturday 9 September on QE's first sea day for the TA from Bermuda to Madeira.
  9. Thanks @NE John. Upon yesterday's departure from Bermuda the captain announced that our great circle course track to Madeira should be well clear of the storms, but that as a precaution we would increase our speed for the first day or two and then decrease once across into the eastern Atlantic.
  10. In QE's Commodore Club, there are two large paintings in the port and starboard wing areas depicting Cunard ships in two well known ports. The starboard painting of QE is quite obviously in Sydney. But what port is shown in the portside painting of QE2 QM2 and QV?
  11. Thanks @Jack E Dawson for the review and summary. Your experience echoes our own on this voyage. Sorry you had to depart in Ft Lauderdale. We're fortunate to continue on to Barcelona.
  12. QE is in Bermuda today 8 September. It is the only port on our voyage that drives on the correct side of the road! 😀 🚙
  13. I did make it out on deck for coffee and sunrise this morning 7 September. It was worth it! ☕ 🌅
  14. It's red and gold formal night this evening on QE. Just in case I sleep in tomorrow, here is tonight's sunset.
  15. QE at sea Wednesday 6 September enroute to Bermuda.
  16. QE is in Ft Lauderdale today 5 September, at Terminal 26. Welcome to those boarding this afternoon, and safe travels home to those disembarking this morning.
  17. QE WiFi has worked fine for us also. Seamless shifting across access points as we moved around the ship. Also unlike QM2 last November in Norway, it doesn't disconnect after 2 hours.
  18. Monday 4 September. QE is sailing northwest off the Cuba coast this morning.
  19. In addition to QE, the US Navy LCS-7 USS Detroit was in Aruba yesterday. I imagine that between QE's passengers and Navy sailors on liberty, not much rum remains in Aruba today. 😀
  20. Both correct! We had a nice warm evening on QE for yesterday's Aruba sailaway. Here's an additional photo of Oranjestad taken a few minutes prior to us passing the airport.
  21. Sunrise today 3 September from QE in the Caribbean. I imagine Biggles might have enjoyed the view from the top of the stacked deck chairs. Our two labradors, both gone now, would have loved morning walks on Cunard.
  22. I've contributed a few photos previously of airports seen from seaports. Here's one more at this already seen port, on sailaway.
  23. Sunrise this morning 2 September over Aruba from QE.
  24. QE is in Aruba today 2 September. A sunny day, 27c at dawn with 31c expected later on.
