  1. Someone did post all of the menus for the 7-day cruises https://boards.cruisecritic.com/topic/2849403-menus-for-alaska-cruises/ There are a few more options on the 10-day cruises. One night was Alaskan Cod Fish and Chips. It was pretty good. If you liked the one they used to serve at the Pub Lunch, then you would like it. One day at the lunch buffet, there was a huge platter of salmon and tuna sashimi, along with a large bowl of cooked prawns. That was really good. One disappointing item was the cheddar soup made with Alaskan larger. It was very thin and watery. We had some really good soup at the brewery in Skagway. It was pricey, but delicious.
  2. I have the same locks, but I still don't want strangers touching my stuff, lol.
  3. Recent photos from the MTP luncheon. I have attended three luncheons since the restart. Seems like it would be harder to socially distance.at a cocktail party.
  4. Had friends on the ship last month. The husband tested positive while on the ship. The wife did not. From their post: "Ongoing cruise/trip saga continues…happy to be released from Covid jail yesterday had a nice day in Naples went to upload documents to United this am (flight is tomorrow) and they told me that I am not allowed to fly to the US until Tuesday after 7:36am per CDC hurray more work from anywhere time seriously? If you want to travel internationally keep in mind that you could be having an extended vacation, you can’t fly to the US from outside the US if you test positive until the first 10 full days after the positive test, would be nice if actually retired and insured the trip. Well at least we insured the trip. Onto Barcelona tomorrow when we get off the ship."
  5. Thank you again for the great pictures and review. Hoping you are able to post some photos from your 26 glacier excursion. I'm guessing you are having lots of fun and probably slow internet.
  6. I also bring them. I have been stopped twice at airport security because the male inspectors didn't know what there were, lol. Bring them in your carry on luggage so that your checked bag doesn't get opened for inspection.
  7. We have always picked them up at the pier. It was fast and easy.
  8. If only it was that easy. That is how I would check for it, but it hasn’t been credited. Good information though.
  9. I have a cruise for February of 2024 and it's in the App. Can't understand why the employees answering the phone just make up answers now.
  10. What is really making me mad now is that the tour I wanted to book with my $250 credit has gone up $30 per person. 😡
  11. Personally, as a woman, I would be more comfortable in capri pants or a skirt. I don't like being identified as a tourist. My favorite story is while touring France, two men from our ship thought I was a French woman and asked where I learned to speak English so well. 😂
  12. That is pretty much my same scenario. Two weeks of trying, two faxes, an e-mail, and a useless chat. Still waiting for the credit to be applied.
  13. I’m glad the OP enjoyed Kory’s show. He’s one of our favorite performers on Princess. We specifically booked our cruise just to see him. Can’t wait!
  14. I read on the last Patter that you posted that Kory Simon wasn't at Crooner's. Would it be possible to find out if he just had a night off? I am hoping that's all it was and that he hasn't taken ill with Covid.
  15. Best to have paper back-up if needed. What if you lose/break your phone on your way to the ship? The posters on this board that told us to carry paper copies of our passports are lifesavers. DH lost his passport on the way to Italy. The paper copy enabled him to get a replacement in less than 24 hours. It was nothing short of miraculous, to say the least.
  16. If you can manage your luggage, I would recommend taking BART from the airport to Embarcadero station and staying at the Hyatt. It's walking distance from BART to the hotel (less than a block). On Embarkation Day, it's a quick cab ride to the pier. You can also take a pedi-cab or walk (a little over a mile) to Pier 27.
  17. Thank you so much for posting! Loving your spectacular photos and information.
  18. I've been home for a week now, but I did want to let you know that the three us did have a really good time on the Ruby. The food was pretty good and no one got sick. The weather could have been better, but that is beyond anyone's control. Unfortunately though, the bad weather made us late to a couple of ports and caused the cancellation of one of the two production shows. We did have comedians, a couple of singers, game shows, movies, piano bar, trivia, guest lecturers, etc., to fill up our days and nights. One thing that did bother us was the lack of any hand-washing stations in the buffet area. There are hand sanitizers available, but we rarely saw anyone using them. For this reason, on a ten-day cruise, we only ate in the buffet four times, twice for breakfast and twice for lunch. If you have any specific questions, I will try and answer them for you. Bon Voyage on your upcoming cruise.
  19. Sent my husband's passport renewal, priority mail, on 5/2/22. I did not ask for expedited service and it arrived yesterday, 5/28/22. I'm not sure how we got it so quickly, but I am extremely happy as we need it for a cruise next month.
  20. It's stories like this that reaffirm our decision to only cruise from ports we can drive home from. Safe travels Colorado Coasty and hope you recover quickly.
  21. Having recently been on the Ruby, the best Wi-Fi was up in Skywalker’s.
  22. I think you are right. We're back to green now. Oh well ...
  23. We have gone from green to yellow. I think it’s because DH has a new passport. The change in status happened after I updated the passport information.
