  1. Yes, I understand one can possibly book excursions in both the morning and the afternoon, but when I go to my NCL on the 2 ports where I have already booked excursions, only the one I booked is showing. The others have all disappeared. And let's not forget that their advertising uses the word FREE.
  2. OK, I did not know you were not flying straight back after the cruise, and thought I would make a siuggestion.
  3. A lot of stores here in the US also would rather have small purchases done by credit card instead of cash as they say there is a coin shortage. There are often signs that say please use exact change or pay by card.
  4. You will at the end of the cruise need to get back to the airport. I don't know for sure if Carnival does this (Princess did) when we had to get back to Heathrow from Dover, in addition to a transfer straight to the airport, there was a transfer that included a walking tour of Dover and a stop in Canterbury. It not only was interesting and worth the extra cost, but also made it seem you were still on your vacation instead of off the cruise and on the way back to the airport.
  5. 1. You finally got the new gift cards in time. YAY 2. For everyone who says a TA is an unnecessary middleman (or in this case middlewoman) note that that is how it finally got resolved because the TA had a contact at Carnival.
  6. NYC gets its water from reservoirs in my county. NYC water is really Sullivan county water.
  7. This trip is beginning to sound like the old Albert King blues song, If It Wasn't for Bad Luck, I'd Have No Luck at All. I do really hope somehow this all works out for you and your family.
  8. It would apply to every state. And the applicable law would be the law in the state in which the transaction occurred.
  9. They do NOT split the shorex $50 credit; it only applies to the first person on the booking.
  10. I can't disagree with that as you are most likely correct.
  11. We have been booked on this cruise except in the other direction since 2021. The Norway ports are the ones mentioned in an earlier post. The ship also goes to Zeebrugges for Bruge and Amsterdam. The 10 day cruise would have 2 ports in Iceland. Ours has a 3rd port, an overnight in Reykjavik. Our only problem so far is when do we dock in Reykjavik. NCL says 7 AM while the port guide says 13:30 (1:30 PM). That makes it difficult to figure when to do a private excursion, Oh, also NCL is saying the only tender port is Geiranger, but according to everything I have read Isafjordur, Iceland is a tender port except for small ships. In addition, the tour guide for the private tour we have booked says to meet her at the place where the tenders come in.
  12. I was defining comfort food as not the fancy schmansy stuff they serve on a cruise. And if you are really looking for bagels come up my way August 13th. (We will miss this this year as we will be on a sea day between Norway and Iceland, actually also our wedding anniversary.) The Bagel Festival – Monticello, NY – The bagel Capital
  13. That also works with American Express. It gets their attention.
  14. Somehow "they suck at it" is not a very good excuse. They should get their act together!

  16. Possibly, they feel no compunction about moving people's cabins even when they mark their cruise as no upgrade. According to them their rules which you agree to, basically allow that.
  17. And even for the bus tour, the bus might have an accident. You never see that listed as a warning. 🤦‍♂️
  18. So far in this thread we have had pizza, peanut butter and jelly, and a bagel with a shmear mentioned, all are comfort foods.
  19. I thought the moral or maybe lesson would be a better term of the story is that they will lie to cover their asses. We were once also moved by Princess without informing us or our TA and told the cabin was out of operation only to discover someone else was given the cabin.
  20. 🤦‍♂️, I guess the rules are the rules and they must be followed no matter how ridiculous.
  21. Thanks again for the comprehensive review. So you went home for the pizza after missing good pizza. My DW on our first cruise (2002) said at the end what she missed was peanut butter and jelly. 🤣🤣
  22. Is the cruise done? There have been no new posts for days.
