I wonder if the creative accountants have a special line for overcharges not caught by the passenger and brought to the attention of the onboard staff. 😉
So they saved the worst for last! I would vote for deliberate disinformation as they did not want to give any excuse for passengers to cancel.
But you have to give them credit for withholding this information until the last minute so as to not ruin the enjoyment of the cruise earlier. 🤦♂️
Since you maintain that neither the old nor the new muster drill trains passengers properly, how would you propose to have passengers trained to be properly prepared for an emergency?
He was on our 2010 sailing on the Golden Princess. I remember him speaking often. He also was always around and available to speak with one on one. I remember him being delighted when he heard we sometimes saw deer in our neighborhood.
And my point was ships over 2000 were once the large ships. They are now mid sized. And even the 3000+ are "small" compared to the ships being built today.
That reminds me of an old Borscht Belt joke--the food was terrible, and you could not even get seconds.
Bringing this back to mid size ships, I would bet the definition of what is a mid size ship has become much larger over the years.
Reading these comments, i am glad we will be there on a Monday. 😊 I found only one museum we might be interested in to be closed on Mondays (and another closed every day due to renovations). Plenty of them open.
Checking our itinerary further, our Sundays are sail away and a sea day. The only other weekend day is a Saturday in Alesund, and I don't expect it to be overrun with tourists..
We did a Princess cruise out of Dover. We also had one booked out of Southampton that never sailed due to the Covid shutdown in 2020.
Princess definitely treats the Southampton cruises as more of a priority. They have transfers to Southampton both from the airports and from London, while there were only transfers to Dover from the airports.
The earliest flight time allowed will be later of course if you take an excursion to the airport instead of directly to Heathrow. But we did find this option well worth the extra cost.
Yes, but doesn't McDonald's coffee now come with that warning ever since someone sued them and won?
But I do agree with you that this can be taken to ridiculous extremes with an attempt to warn about anything that could possibly happen.
Why, because the excursions were purchased from Carnival. Every cruise line will speak to you to purchase excursions directly from them even if the cruise itself is purchased through a TA.
They are cruise line excursions, not travel agent excursions!
In 2020 when we had a Princess cruise from Southampton (which unfortunately was a Covid cancellation) we had booked excursions back to Heathrow which included a stop in Stonehenge. Assuming they still have this option, they will give you a time that is the earliest your flight can be for you to take this excursion.
In 2014, we did something similar with Princess from Dover going to Heathrow with a walking of Dover plus a stop in Canterbury. It really makes it seem like you are still on your cruise vacation instead of just heading back to the airport. It was well worth the extra cost.
I of course meant for the TA to take over the booking. If you think the best way to do that is to start over and use a TA fine, but sometimes perks disappear and/or prices rise after the time of the original booking.
