Currently on the Carnival Dream, last day of the cruise and boy has it been wild.  Winds and waves started up this morning, but at approximately 1pm we went into a big storm.  Ship was listing to the port side. On the starboard side, where my cabin is on 11th floor the water was coming into my cabin and out into the hall.  Everyone including crew were sent to their rooms for about 2hrs.

all back to almost normal.  Ocean plaza, the entire aft pool area, and all outdoor areas are still off limits. I’ve seen 2 broken glass doors.

Ince released from our rooms I went and sat by guest services, because we all know what was coming and the line was huge.  Seriously, these people acting like they should get money because there was a storm. It was ridiculous.

The Thelasso pool was wild. I chose not to get in. Recorded this a few hours before we hit the really bad storm.

Incredibly the internet stayed working the entire time

My grandmother was a Green. Maybe we’re related 😊

Funny. The Green was my maternal grandfather's last name--he died before I was born. I actually do not know much about him, where he came from or his family history. But you never know!

  3. Sorry about the serial posts/replies. I am just fried today and could not manage typing one post to address a bunch of different peeps/screen names.

Today (like 7:00 am) the mover guy delivered my desk from my dad's stuff on Long Island. He came thru like a champ and I do love that desk. I don't even remember if I already mentioned it (repeat: I am fried) but as far as we can tell it was originally owned by my great grandmother, who gave it to my grandmother/grandfather when they were married and setting up housekeeping (an old phrase, that), who gave it to my Dad when he was newly married. A heck of a lotta family history went on during its life. And now, more to come. I remember it just always being in our dining room, growing up. My Dad and Mom used it to pay bills by check and write letters (neither of which are really done much anymore). It needs a little TLC and I will give it that (even if I likely won't use it as a desk). Oh! And in a drawer was my mother's address book--from her late teens to until she died. Notes stuck in it, little maps and driving directions, the names of so many people I remember being in her life both growing up and as an adult Mom. Her maiden name was Green (which is my middle name, hence my use in my CC screen name). This book was a sweet (bittersweet) surprise.

So sweet! My Aunt used to have two dachshunds. Always liked those little fellers...except one was always using my leg as a replacement for a girl dog...

PICO.....rescued last April from  lady who kept dozens of dogs outside, full time, rain, cold, snow.  She was arrested.  Pico was scared (being housed with other much larger intimidating dogs), matted, starved.  Got her rested, bathed, fed, shots.  She's a well behaved and  happy go lucky little girl these days.

Think she's about a year old.

People like that lady should be given a short vacation in jail. With scary female inmate neighbors. Cruelty to animals and children--unacceptable. Pico started out as an unlucky doggie but thanks to you is now a very lucky pup. This story pulls at my heartstrings. Good job by you.

Rainy, damp, slush, ice, fog is all we've had here since I got back from Isla Mujeres Saturday night. At least it warmed up above freezing, which in Wisconsin can be considered shorts weather. 🤣 Anyway, with all the cute cat and dog pics I had to share. My two 12 year old brothers, Rocky and Leon.

2024 has not been my friend so far. Last week (god was it just last week?) the humans were sick; this week we have a struggle bus doggo. Noticed she had a bunch of ear crud going on Saturday but the vet was already closed for the day. Called Monday, couldn't get her in until yesterday, by then her ear was SO bad. We were up all night Monday and Tuesday because she just wouldn't stop shaking her head and scratching her ear, I finally gave her half a trazodone to take the edge off and knock her out because I was losing my mind. They ended up having to muzzle her and shave her whole ear to even clean it out. Put like a steroid gel in her ear and we have another dose for next week. Get home and no longer than 2 hours later she's laying next to me, rolls over and I notice she's got all sorts of funk around her lady parts too 🥴 she has been taking FOREVER and a day to pee, I had just been chalking it up to the snow and now I feel like an awful neglectful dog mom. Called them again this morning and luckily they just got a cortisone/antibiotic cream ready and I didn't need to take her back.

I neeeeeeeed the weekend. At least all the humans are healthy.

Poor doggie! Stressful for you both--I hope she and her lady bits are feeling much better!

So we made a huge decision.  We’re selling our house in the Spring and moving to Bristow,OK to be near my family.  It’s going to be a big adjustment but when I was there a few weeks ago.  Something in my heart told me that’s where I need to be. It’s where I was born, so…,,,

Ya gotta go with your gut (or your heart, or whatever you might call it), Yes, it will be a big adjustment, but you will adjust, We came to NC from NJ and we adjusted. Pretty darn quickly, too, Congrats--stressful I know--but exciting too!

Would love to see your kitties!!

Well, being a kindred soul (aka a cat person), you must know how hard it was for me to choose photos just to satisfy what should be a simple straightforward request (aka "would love to see your kitties"!)  That simply is NOT simple, lol. I did the best I could, so all you non-cat peeps, just scroll on by. These are for @scubagal44. 1) Emma "portraiit" from breeder. 2) Emma at her new home (mine). 3) Emma posing, 3) New baby Emma owning Batman. 4) Emma owning Batman and Monte (the rescued brudders) 5-6) Batman rescued baby ; (7-8) Monte! OK, I'm done.

Wow! They are beautiful. Are they all from one litter? We have three. Two brothers we rescued after someone dumped them in the woods and a Siamese.

  11. I finally got it together to have my father's desk and his set of beautiful tray tables (that he made) shipped to me. His "hobby" of woodworking over his adult like produced some pretty impressive things. The desk was his mother's, from her childhood home so obviously pretty darn old it means a lot to keep that still in the family. They arrive tomorrow. Yay. Handling this via Internet was challenging but very grateful it can be done that way too! Two less items for my brother to have to keep in storage on Long Island. Fingers crossed they arrive safely.

Coming out of lurkdom to finally say hi! Love following along on everyone's trip lives, seeing all the good foods and drinks, and so on and so forth. I'm not a jerk, I have cats and a husband, love good food and good drink, and am pretty laid back and chill.

For Tribe tax, here's a delicious spicy margarita I had a couple nights ago.

  13. Was reading a review where the person was upset because their cabin was below a restaurant. There is no carpeting in the restaurant so they heard noise a lot and that was a big thumbs down. Not ideal, I get that... and I can sympathize. If they were a newbie. But what makes me not sympathize particularly is that person was not a cruise newbie (mentioned they had done a number of reviews already) and they clearly did not do even some basic research on the location of their cabin. Like--look at the deck plans to see where their cabin is, what it is near, what is above it and below it.

I just stopped reading it right there. Those are the type of reviews I just lose interest in.

Not going to give more detail, not trying to bash anyone personally or point anyone to the specific review. It is just a general "review" thing that always kind of annoys me and makes me lose interest quickly. Harrumph.

A lady recognized me in the bathroom on the Celebration. She was kind of staring, so I asked how her cruise was going. She said “great, but I know who you are. Long time lurker!” 😆🫣

On the Sistah's Cruise, a woman came up to me at the Haven Bar and asked if I was Greenpea2. And I am a mere NOTHING next to you Review Royalty members, lol.

  15. I found out today that Celeste has nothing to be concerned about regarding his name. In France, Celeste is both a female AND a male name. He took me on a brief ride to the P,O. (Sistah's BD coming up) this morning and I explained that to him.

    *Silence*.

    He will come around.
