  1. Well, Royal Caribbean has Johnny Rockets onboard. Can Oceania be moving to match? 😀
  2. Whether or not you have to go through a security screening, you are fine with this connection. There is dedicated screening for those doing connections and it goes easily. As long as your flights are on one ticket, your bags will be checked in at BOS and you will see them in SIN. Two JAL tips: Take the Japanese meal onboard - quite good and is not full of "strange" food, just very flavorful. And if you enjoy good whiskey, pick up a bottle of Japanese whiskey at the NRT duty-free.
  3. True. Order should be: App Phone Lounge Service Desk And one can always multi-task three of them at once.
  4. I was gonna use that joke myself. Glad someone else enjoys it.
  5. And notice....not a single person in that line is on the phone to UA. Amateurs.
  6. Net yield: 6.9% Operating loss: $1.86 Billion on gross revenue of $4.7 Billion. Which means for every dollar of revenue, they lost almost 40 cents. Interestingly, the article focuses on the bookings, not the financial performance. Hmmm.
  7. Why not give them a call and see if you can book something now for 2025. They may be able to put you in for a hotel and tours and fill in the flights later. Can't hurt to ask what their timings are?
  8. Completely a sidebar, but I always wondered what happened to that statue of Caesar that was in the casino.
  9. Beyond just looking at FI, look at the tour packages that Icelandair offers. You can get some excellent deals on combinations of flights, hotels and tours.
  10. One should consider - does the case open up so that it is roughly 50-50 on both sides, or is it more of a "single compartment" with a small (if any) "lid" area? The former would be able to slip under beds when opened, but the latter might have some difficulty. My Aleon is the latter design, and it does have issues going under a cruise bed. So it stays home for cruises. (great bag otherwise)
  11. Ditto. I still feel there is something missing in this whole affair.
  12. None of which will actually be returned to the company. The outfit doing the survey is almost certainly charged to only return comments directly relating to the credit card questions, with others being filtered out. Extraneous comments are usually just lumped as a quantity number into "other".
  13. A hundred dollar bag 20 years ago isn't like a hundred dollar bag today.
  14. They would not be involved in any of the actual operation of the card. The current RCCL and Celebrity cards are issued by Bank of America, who do all the banking operations. I would assume this would also be with BoA.
  15. That's quite reasonable for quality luggage. Take a look at prices for Tumi and Rimowa. Your average $100 bag won't stand up to anything more than infrequent travel. You get what you pay for.
  16. In a word: Terrible. It's a lousy value proposition, with poor earning ratios and a very limited redemption plan. One can do much better with a number of other cards. This seems to be a clone of the cards currently offered as co-brands with Royal and Celebrity.
  17. This discussion is missing the most important factor. If you have ANY kind of disruption, misconnect or cancellation -- the FIRST point of contact is directly with the carrier involved. In many cases, arrangements have already been put into place to handle a reroute for you and your bags. Even if it hasn't, the airline is the entity that will ultimately get you to your destination - not FlightEase, the cruiseline, or any kind of emergency number. Those "resources" are for when you can't get any kind of satisfaction from the carrier itself. Thought problem....if you have a misconnect, will introducing an additional layer of communication and process make your rebooking go any faster or smoother? What every savvy traveler should do is to well research, in advance, all of the airports you will be passing through, so you are not frantically trying to figure out things on the ground. One should also have a set of back-up contingency plans with alternate airlines and routings to get you to your destination. Don't just be saying "well, get me there". The more you can help with alternatives, the better. Put the apps for the carriers you are flying onto your phone so you have that resource available. And don't just call FlightEase and wait for them to figure things out for you. While you are waiting, alternative seats are going to the folks who are proactively working to solve their issues. Finally, recognize that FlightEase or any such program, does not have people "monitoring" all flights. Nor do they have standby seats and aircraft just waiting to handle irops. Caveat emptor.
  18. Bet they are angling for a free cruise as compensation for their anguish.
  19. FWIW....a number of luggage manufacturers are now referring to some pieces as "trunks". These are often bags that are larger in the "thickness" dimension, shorter in the "width" and about the same in "length". Here's one example: https://july.com/us/luggage/checked-trunk/?light-sand= You can compare it with their "classic" type luggage.
  20. You missed the most significant key word: "Planning". What did Robert Burns say?
  21. You do not want to be cutting it close at LAX. Traffic into the horseshoe is always congested. Plus, the San Diego Fwy is never anything but busy. Maybe your driver will take a different route. You don't mention which airline you are taking. Even that affects your travel time, as terminals 4 6 and 7 are the most difficult to get to. Fastest into LAX is terminal 1. I would never take a flight before noon.
  22. Which would only work when departing from YYZ. Even when arriving, this would have them on the "wrong" side of security for an arrival.
  23. And folks who ignore the fine print are the ones who get blindsided. Plus, I wonder how much evidentiary weight a judge will accord to "Well, you Honor, Edgee told me that the ship would wait, so...."
  24. I guess you don't consider having flights to Ghana, Gabon, Togo, Angola and Lisbon as ways to end being "stranded". It's not like they were stuck there with Gilligan.
  25. So it will wait for you. Until it doesn't. Some people prefer urban legend. Some prefer the black letter of reality. Everyone can make their own minds up. I'll just say "better to read the fine print in advance, than reading it later"
