  1. Yes $10 was for the cab and we had 3 people, with 1 person sitting in the front. Given the cost and it not being a metered ride I didn't add an additional tip.
  2. We didn't have ANY pesos for the entire trip, so it had to be USD. We were going to use Uber back to the Port, but after waiting 15 minutes and no one picking up the Uber ride we hailed a cab on the street and asked how much the ride would be in $. I agree $10 is more than it should be which is why I commented $20 is crazy high and shouldn't be what people think the average taxi cost should be.

  4. Our Uber to the Malecon was $5US and a local taxi with AC back to the ship was $10US. I would have never paid $20, definitely ripping tourists off at that rate.
  5. The JS on the Odyssey has an extra half bath which would be very convenient in your situation and the half bath could be his private bathroom.
  6. Never heard of a plaid toga. Are you referring to a kilt?
  7. What is your price range? People as for recommendations but without a price range what I would want to pay vs what you want to pay may be two different things. What time do you get into Miami? The reason for that question if you're getting in late in doesn't matter as much whether the hotel you choose is in walking distance to things to see and do.
  8. One of the other changes in the Steakhouse is they eliminated the whole 'choose your type of salt' for your steaks. I always thought that was a waste of time and effort. That's been eliminated fleetwide I think.
  9. Even if you wanted to you can't make reservations. There's no Celebrity ship with any shows that you can make reservations for.
  10. I have never seen this served on the Apex, Beyond, Summit or Refection.
  11. I find that hard to believe and probably an oversight. It should have been an upgraded canvas bag.
  12. I was on the Solstice two weeks ago and beach bags were included in our Concierge Class cabin as well as the standard veranda cabin.
  13. You're overthinking this. A swimsuit is just fine. TBH if you can securely tuck a towel to properly cover your private areas just a towel is fine too.
  14. Correct, but there is a SAUNA in the respective locker rooms that are free for everyone to use. On the Sunrise and I assume the Radiance when they did the reno they removed the individual saunas in the locker rooms to one coed sauna that's right at the entrance to the Spa area (just a small doorway that's easy to miss) right before the locker rooms.
  15. All three ports were perfect weather last week. Warm, not hot, not humid, just PERFECT. No jacket is needed. As i mentioned on my quick recap the ship is another story. The ship was always COLD. You need a hoodie or sweatshirt on at all times. The casino was the only place besides the solarium that one was comfortable in shorts and a t-shirt. I would guesstimate the inside temps aboard the Solstice to be around 64-68 degrees.
  16. That wasn't our experience last week. We asked and they specifically said all upgrades have to be requested from BCC. We had a Concierge Class comped cabin.
  17. That's the whole point of a Celebrity cruise. The lack of the things you're asking for.
  18. Just remember ALL bookings that Future cruises does in conjunction with BCC include a $10/pp/day booking fee that's not waived. The fee is charged by Future Cruises. All BCC offers fulfilled via Future cruises are NOT the same offers that are given and booked directly by BCC. Whatsmore whatever the offer you qualify for cannot be upgraded by Future cruises;and upgrades must be handled by BCC AFTER you book whatever offer you have with Future cruises onboard. Those onboard offers are only good onboard;they will not necessarily be the same offers given directly by BCC. Seems like the biggest positive about the Future cruise/BCC offers are they are good for cruises up to one year from your current sailing. Offers directly from BCC don't always go out that far.
  19. That's a BIG downgrade IMO. The excursion credit should be $150/pp since that's what it previously was for Spa credit, but that could be another downgrade.
  20. I had thought they did away with both versions of the frittata?
  21. That reservation time is a booking system error. Blu doesn't have reservations period. Unfortunately the error can be confusing for the uninitiated.
  22. For Tallin I wouldn't bother with an excursion. The old town is walking distance and it's where you want to go. For Nynashamn/Stockholm yo can take the train from Nynashamn to Stockholm and return. The train station is walking distance from the ship pier. IMPORTANT HINT: By you train tickets AHEAD of time from the internet and you'll receive an e-ticket via email that's good for ANY train that arrives in Nynashamn. There's only one manned ticket booth and only one ticket machine on the platform and you can't buy tickets on the train so you can imagine the lines that form when everyone gets off the ship and tries to buy a ticket. Buying it online and you won't have to queue up and then just take whatever train comes when you get there. The schedules are all online. Then you just show the ticket taker you e-ticket email and you're all set!
  23. For the Mexican Riviera itineraries the ship is on local time in each port of call.
