Well I’m back. overall I do prefer p&o to msc but I think we would use them again. Just have to know the differences. Will post something more later in the week. Busy unpacking and washing now.

yes the pizza is very Italian type and nice. Unless you pay for the extras like the crepes and Ice creams even the coffee etc then they are nice. The free stuff not so much. we have been into Molde. Lasted all of an hour. They wanted to come to the pool instead. It’s nice weather though.

Morning peeps currently sat in buffet just before we go ashore at Molde. Got to say that the ship itself is nicer than p&o but the food and especially the service is worse. we left Southampton just after iona and ended up passing her in the middle of the sea on the first day. we were in Hellesylt yesterday where I think she is due today. did she go to olden yesterday as it didn’t say she did when we tracked her. Wondering if we pass her again on the way back. enjoy the rest of your week.

We are on the ship now. Couldn’t link a card with the cabin online so have to do it on a machine. Went to the machine and want to put down cash and it’s taken £20 and not added it on just shut down. So now I am in the reception queue which is ridiculously long. It’s not been. A good start.

At in the terminal waiting now. it’s packed and full of kids. Much prefer going in the term time but needs must. hubby has already said he prefers p&o. He’s said it looks like butlins at sea and I’ve just said people were saying that about p&o 😂 ah well. Paid it all now so make the most of it. No cooking or cleaning and hopefully good views of the fjords.

Morning peeps So tired. After not sleeping due to a little bit of stress the other two nights, last night I slept quite well which is typical when I need to set an alarm and get up. Hoping the 3.5hr drive down to Southampton is going to be smooth which with two kids is wishful thinking. Also have a very catchy song in my head “wellerman” and I can’t seem to get it out.

Yes they are excited. I just have anxiety about it as usual. Can’t wait till I’m just on it and it’s all smooth sailing. I’ve gotten some packing done as hubby had a nap.

Still not packed. Hopefully will be by tomorrow. Tests done and passed. Yay Now just to see if we will get the car back from the garage so we can drive down 🤞

I’ll have to come back in November when I’ve been on iona but sometimes I find it’s more to do with the weather and the people on the ship. But most of the prices in the summer holiday seem to be based on itinerary and length rather than the ships, like you don’t seem to pay more for the newer ships but what your getting. we’ve looked at royal Caribbean and would love to go on it but the prices from Southampton are double than that for p&o or msc.

Can’t actually help with this one. Only been on Britannia and azura. will be going on iona in November and doing msc before that so will be able to give a better answer. My kids are 7&6 currently

We do drink quite a bit of water though and we did have one random day that we didn’t drink much. had I have bought the package at £80per day for our cabin that would have been £880. Yet we only spent £370ish. I would have had to force ourselves to drink more for it to be worth it. I always seem to miss all these things, either I must not read it correctly or it goes over my head. if I ever say anything wrong though I’m happy to be called out on it. here today I am still not packed. It’s stressing me but it’s my last day of work. I’ve done have day. Kids are playing Lego and hubby is on nights which I hate going to see my 90 year old gran tonight. She had a party last week that went well, unfortunately only time me and my cousins see each other now is parties or funerals. She says oh you will know so many people. What she meant was I’d met them when I was my daughters ages. But I got loads of compliments as both kids went and talked to everyone, Georgia had them in fits of giggles as she decided to ask old ladies how old they were and what were their favourite sandwiches, least Scarlett was a little more reserved but I was very proud of them both, I hate talking to people like that but they both did it beautifully and I do think being confident to have conversations like that is a good skill for them to learn. love seeing all the photos on here of grahams Ice creams at the beach etc. I wouldn’t like this thread to be closed.

I definitely will going with msc and their boards just do not feel the same as this one. You recognise so many names and characters that for me even going on a different line I’d rather tell you guys about.

Morning peeps i agree with graham and avril. This thread that’s been going for so long now will have helped many when we were all a little bit alone. I have one week to go till I’m back on a cruise. Slightly apprehensive though as it’s not with p&o and I’m one of those people who likes what they know and doesn’t really like new things. I haven’t even started packing yet. It’s been a long 4 weeks so far with the school holidays. Will be nice to relax a bit.

yes they have only told me Hellesylt. Sure we Will find out on the day but it’s annoying as I want to plan for that day and I can’t if it’s a different port.

This one isn’t on iona. but I do have geiranger on iona in April- if they have change that I’m sure they will eventually tell me

Ok so im getting confused and it doesn’t take much. If it says Hellesylt port 8am-5pm then I expected it to be just that. Yet I have read other places Often, both Norwegian cruise ports Hellesylt and Geiranger are itinerary-connected. The ship stops for a few hours at one of them to offload (tender) cruise passengers with booked tours there. At the other port, the ship docks to stay longer. So now I don’t know where I am going. Paperwork only says Hellesylt. My eldest is turning 8 that day and she wants to plan.

On my booking it just says Hellesylt 8am-5pm. Doesn’t say anything else about geiranger and I would hope that if it was dropping people off somewhere and picking up in a different location they would tell us that otherwise we are going to be very lost.

it’s on the select fare. this particular cruise was £3131 for the early saver and then £3656 for the select so the select still worked out better due to the obc plus whatever choose ie parking.
