  1. My finger just slipped and I might have booked a cruise with royal Caribbean 🙈
  2. yes you wouldn’t have thought that you’d ever be questioned. It’s the hidden disabilities that are difficult hence why I sent off for one of those access cards, you have to send all your medical information to them and then they have to agree. It’s something I got as it’s a little annoying being judged all the time but it’s human nature. im not actually sure other than for embarkation what P&o could even help me with. I don’t mind waiting an hour to board, I just can’t wait stood in a line or not need a bathroom. Think the only other time is if there were long queues to get back onto the ship, with no where to sit that it would be an issue. but I will find the form and fill it in. Belt and braces
  3. hahaha that’s me and trying to do a million things at once. I meant am 😂 to be honest 9am will be the latest we have left. I want to make sure I have enough leeway for traffic/issues but I don’t want to turn up to early and inconvenience everyone. im just excited for a holiday. Nearly 6 months without one is killing me. we were even talking this morning about breakfast. Apparently my girls want eggs Benedict (I can’t cos of the snotty eggs 😔)
  4. Quick question regarding getting to the terminal early? I currently have a boarding time of 3.15 which is a lot later than we usually get. we have a 3hr45min drive (with no stops and no delays) im thinking of setting off at 9pm. We usually take about 5 hours due to stopping so we’d be down there and parked up with about 1hour to space now this hour I’m guessing they are going to put us in the “holding pen” they now have, is there anyway they will let us wait inside sat down do you know. Unfortunately I can’t queue, I also can’t be outside away from bathrooms, I do actually have a little access card that has both these symbols on but I just don’t want to get stuck.
  5. Awesome read. Im so glad to see so many actually posting trip reports live or not now. I know when I joined I’d only read daimianG(think that’s who) and now there are loads of you joining in. I’m glad I’m not the only one. Although I do sometime forget if I actually posted mine. Loved it that you called your wife a beauty even while poorly. and happy that you managed to get extra puddings in the olive grove. I was refused when I asked for two small mains as I wasn’t sure if I’d like one and was told no so thought fair enough. I always like the lemon tart but hubby always steals my ice cream. didn’t realise all the prices had increased by 20-40p for drinks. Off to read Selbornes soon but need to cook dinner and get some work done.
  6. Agree with megabear. As much as I love hanging out with my kids. I also love getting rid of them too. And I would proper kick off if other parents were in there, its for kids with staff who have been vetted. Go to Brodies and play pool. There is also basketball and chess on top decks.
  7. if it was me and hubby I would have just taken the risk and not paid cos if I don’t sit next to him for 9hours is no issues in long run. but since they said that the kids could be infront, behind or at the side of me then we had to pay £360. What really bothered me is when speaking on the phone to them when booking they never said about this extra charge as we have only even flown with virgin so seat selection is included with them. Really p off but I doubt we will do a fly cruise again unless I book it myself with a different cruise company. Won’t be doing P&o again and we haven’t even been yet. im sticking to ones from Southampton
  8. we are going to try jet skis but on st Maarten. Reason being is that we wouldn’t want very long on them or to leave the bay with the kids. Plus $199 for jet ski x2 is bit expensive for us. Youngest will just be 8 for this trip but lots actually say not under 12 even for some P&o trips. I also have bladder issues so like to go where there are facilities even though cane bay is busy
  9. So far we’ve got Barbados - savvy on the bay at night then catamaran next day Tortola- cane garden bay La Romana- pool at port St Maarten- great bag beach Antigua- …………. Maybe p&o catamaran excursion? St Kitts-Carambola/ship wreck bar Martinique- bbq and beach excursion St Lucia- ………….Maybe by land and sea excursion Thinking £2000 budget? Hows rest of your planning going Presto? I think you go before me
  10. yes I found most times by going onto the ports websites. Trying to do that for the Caribbean next year but not having as much luck. as far as I could see I have Hamburg 7am-11pm rotterdam 7am- overnight-9pm zeebruge 5am-5pm so zeebruge might be the day we worry about times most. Can’t see us spending more than a few hours in Hamburg etc as the markets don’t stay till 11. But then again it’s better than the first cruise to Hamburg we took on a Sunday. And never did we know till someone mentioned it that Hamburg is closed on a Sunday. We didn’t even get off the ship.
  11. I wish they would publish the times they are supposed to arrive. Says 5am for zeebruge as that’s and Hamburg are the ones we are most interested in. But horse carriage won’t open till 9am. Market I think will be 11am. So not much time as I think the ship leaves at 5pm.
  12. yes that was something I wanted to do. My kids especially the youngest would love something like that, saw it on YouTube
  13. already asked them this morning if they want to go look inside, but they just happy to look on the outside before the food market. It makes me feel queasy just looking at it.
  14. Added to the list 😂 does the Iona ship do anything different in December run up to Christmas? I know they had the decorations up last November but wasn’t much apart from that. netherlands don’t seem to be big on Christmas markets.
  15. Booked Iona for Hamburg, Rotterdam overnight and Zeebruge. I have half a plan but I would like any hints or places to visit would be great. We are mainly going for Christmas markets. We are two adults. Two children (9&8) Not big on architecture, museums etc. Hamburg-is just around 6 Christmas markets while walking around the town. See Santa fly at 4pm. Rotterdam overnight- thinking of going to The Hague on the first day for the Lego discovery and then the royal Christmas market. Second day just a water taxi into town, then some shops and the food hall place. Zeebruge- going to bruge by train from blankenburge. We loved it there last year. It’s youngests birthday and she wants a horse carriage ride, waffles for breakfast and loads of chocolate so that day is pretty sorted- we know where we are going, how to get there and what we want to do. May look around blankenburge on way back depending on time. The Christmas market should be in the square.
  16. Little bit jealous. We are only going Caribbean for 2 weeks 😫
  17. question. this is what is showing on my p&o cruise online. Will my flights change to this new airline? Or will it stay with TUI? I am very reluctant to pay the balance in November if the flight changes
  18. How much cash did you take as opposed to card. I feel like it’s gonna be a lot of cash needed. also did you take everything in US dollars or something else as it says nearly all of them bar that one that’s French (so euros) will accept US dollars
  19. It’s really wound me up that as a family of 4 I’ll have to pay £360 to sit together. I booked over the phone. No mention of charges to sit together only that you can’t do it till nearer the time
  20. Are there any shuttles by p&o from these ports? Says there’s not much in La romana Barbados Tortola La Romana St Maarten Antigua St Kitts Martinique St Lucia
  21. Barbados Tortola La Romana St Maarten Antigua St Kitts Martinique St Lucia anyone got any recommendations for these islands? Especially with 9&8 year olds. Just looking through some of the blogs to see what to do. Found one from interestedcruisefan. Wonder if there is any from any others, used some in the past but forgot the names to search.
  22. Mines in feb ‘24 from Manchester. It’s just shows the flight times, flight number and terminal. I wanted it for a quote on car parking at airport. It was on there when I logged in but you can’t choose the seats yet. Have you looked for it when you log in?
  23. Ah so it’s not something to pre book then. think I might stick to Southampton as this all seems complicated 😂 and I have to stick to luggage weight
