  1. We first sailed YC in Oct 2019 when we heard about it and its cost compared to the Haven and just absolutely loved it.
Having been NCL Haven guests for many cruises, the NCL experience turned out to be no where near the new MSC’s YC experience.  So now we only book MSC YC and have 7 upcoming cruises booked. NCL out priced their loyal guests, too bad for them. IMO.

  2. When I booked our cruise on 12/14 the port fees were $150.  I called just to change rooms when I saw the deck I wanted opened up and price was up by $300 because the port fees went up to $225. Room price stayed the same.

Do you remember who the Yacht Club Restaurant  Maitre D was??

Do Aurea guests have a designated restaurant? Going as a group and we all appreciate the answers.

    Thanks!

It might be Luis Costa who told me he was going there in October. We had him 3 times on our last YC ships and he was just fabulous.

  4. Stockjock, How can you knock something you’ve never tried?  Everyone’s opinion is personal to them. We love the YC and have never had an issue with it. Service has always been top notch and we always enjoyed each and every cruise continuing by having a few more booked all in the YC.

All you do is state how “I work for one of the better-known Wall Street firms” (your quote) and possibly implying plenty of income and yet you complain over everything you know nothing about. It truly gets monotonous, possibly too for some others besides me since I don’t speak for them.  Just a question if you don’t mind, by your constant telling everyone of your high powered job (???) why do you complain about price?  I’m curious. I’ll probably not see your response as I have chosen to ignore your posts from now on. Why don’t you sail another line that you might be happier with?

  5. My friend is traveling solo on the Star now and is Sapphire.  She sent me photos of her vouchers that say dinner for two with bottle of wine at LeBistro or Cagney’s and another dinner for two at either Moderno or La Cucina.  She also got $50 obc for not be able to do BTS or dinner with the officers. I asked her to let me know as I am traveling solo for the first time and am also sapphire and was curious if I would get the same.

I did all this, and it's how I first discovered there was a problem.

"If you are unable to see your cruise details and you have a reservation with us, please add your booking number in your Account Settings."

Then I attempt to add the booking number in the Account Settings and get:

"There is an error in your Booking ID added. Please insert it again."

Booking number isn't recognized. That's when I called and started to try and resolve it.

This has always been the case with our bookings since we started with MSC 2018/19. No matter who I emailed and as many times as I called, they were never was able to fix it. Bookings would disappear, I would call and they would tell me it’s there and don’t know why it doesn’t show. Luckily, all 3 cruises that didn’t get canceled by C19 were taken. I chuckled to myself when they said they would email their IT department to fix it, sure in what decade 🤔

FYI - I am doubled vaxed and boosted, Too. So, if anyone just read your #10 post, they would assume you only needed to be doubled vaxed and boosted.

Read how many postings are about this. So many misconceptions.

Relax, I just added an additional qualifier to this subject.

People don't know what the OP knows.

    SMH

It was meant that MSC required vaxed pax only and what I said was  “We also have a MSC Canada and NE cruise and Canada requires only fully vaxed pax. No problem as we are vaxed and double boostered.” I never stated that you had to be vaxed and double boostered, just that we were.

I’m glad you are vaxed and boostered, but I have no misconceptions about Covid. It’s been about 2 1/2 years and we have never caught it because we mask everywhere whether it’s required or not and to protect my DH from any infections that could possibly kill him.

So yes, I prefer cruises where we can be somewhat safe and right now MSC fills that requirement.

NCL must follow Canada C19 requirements. If you are cruising from the USA to Canada and fully vaccinated NCL must follow Canada C19 requirements. If you are cruising from the USA to Canada and fully vaccinated.

    1. C19 test required3 or 2 days before you board.

    2. Board a ship in USA and have a port stop in Canada you are required to complete ArriveCan within 72 hours of boarding ship.
    3. If you are not fully vaccinated, stay home, you can not board the cruise.

I have no idea why your response. First of all it’s NCL to Bermuda and MSC to Canada.

I am also well aware of the requirements to travel to Canada as we were driving up June 17 with our ArriveCan code until my DH was admitted to hospital.

You might want to reread my post (#10) where I stated we are double vaxed and double boostered.

BTW, I’m also aware of Bermuda’s regulations and their TA requirements.

  9. It doesn’t matter what MSC does because it all depends on the countries that you are visiting and their requirements.

I have a cruise to Bermuda in October that still require a negative test 4 days prior.  We also have a MSC Canada and NE cruise and Canada requires only fully vaxed pax. No problem as we are vaxed and double boostered.

We just canceled two Princess cruises when they started to allow more unvaxed pax onboard as my DH is immune compromised with B-cell lymphoma and his health is more important to me than cruising. We will have to start planning other trips if this becomes the norm.

I look at it like this, happily married or sorrowfully widowed?

  10. If it’s in the YC the deposits are not refundable anymore. I repriced my cruise and the price is the same but I would get $500 obc. I was also wondering if I can use my one change to move offer to July 4th sale instead of the one I got when originally booked?  If I lose the $398 to gain $100 it really isn’t worth it to me. I’ll give msc pcc a call to see what can be done.

  11. We were in 16018 on Divina and starting at 6:45 AM there was banging and dragging sounds from the One Bar buffet area every day. We went up and found them pulling chairs off the table and then pushing the tables into place. We asked to be moved and we were. I’m a light sleeper though.
