Carnival Celebration Cruise Review with Photos Jan. 15-22
pcvtmom replied to lovestocruise19's topic in Carnival Cruise Lines
I've followed your reviews for years. You look AMAZING! Great review, too. ๐ Congratulations on your work achievement and your weight loss! -
Long time cruiser sails Carnival for the 1st time--my thoughts.
pcvtmom replied to KKB's topic in Carnival Cruise Lines
KKB, we were on the same cruise with you! I agree with your assessment of the decor, friendly crew, and the " rocking and rolling weather"!! All in all, it was an enjoyable cruise, in spite of missing a port (and a luau in Oahu, due to leaving at 8 instead of 11 ๐). -
Yes, and Carnival recently came out with their own brand of seltzers.

Our S2S Adventure - Freedom / Spirit (with pics) - 1/7/23

I love the itineraries for your side-to-side cruises! Looking forward to another awesome Jeff and Patti review! -
Absolutely love Paradise Beach!

Four of us just Ubered from Long Beach Port to LAX...the total cost was $68. Divided by four, that is FAR cheaper than the $36 pp charged by Carnival. We used Uber XL, which could accommodate the four of us plus all of our luggage. With ten of you, you'd need 2 Uber XLs and one regular, and it would still be cheaper than Carnival transportation. Another nice thing...we didn't have to wait for the shuttle to fill up. Our Uber driver was there within 5 minutes of contact.

Long Beach Cruise Port-Any Flooding issues getting there?
pcvtmom replied to trudster57's topic in West Coast Departures
We cruised from Long Beach January 8th and returned the 22nd. We had no issues, in spite of the weather during those weeks. -
We just returned from a Hawaiian cruise. At the advise of several folks on these boards, we took the bus from Kahului to Ma'alaea Harbor, and friends took the bus to Lahaina. It was SO easy and cheap! We left the port area, and after leaving their "walkway", took a right. We walked along the sidewalks for about 15 minutes until we reached Queen Ka'ahumanu Center. This is the shopping area with the bus stop. A security guard graciously directed us to the place to buy tickets and meet the bus. It couldn't have been simpler, and cost each of us $4.00 for round trip!!

We just got off the Miracle (sister ship/Spirit class), and they had a pickleball court!

I always get enough from AARP to pay off my cruises. I've had 10% off every cruise I've booked for many years!!๐๐

Do I need to sign anything at the end of my meals?
pcvtmom replied to BeachNBooks's topic in Carnival Cruise Lines
No, you do not. You would only have to sign in a specialty dining venue, where you pay extra...not in the MDR. -
Have an awesome couple of cruises, Jeff and Patti! I look forward to another thorough and entertaining review when you return. We're jumping on the Miracle to Hawaii tomorrow morning! Aloha ๐ด๐บ

It usually goes back to the original form of payment, so gift card, I'm guessing.
-
This past year, I've had it on embarkation day on the Horizon and Magic. I'll be on the Miracle in a week, and I'll be looking for it! Next to creme brulee in the MDR, it's the best dessert Carnival has, IMHO. ๐

I always request one on the day I meet our room attendant. I've never had a problem getting one.
-
Fingers crossed that your transportation woes are settled. Flying has become a nightmare, with so much uncertainty and cancellations. (We fly cross-country from Washington, DC to LAX next week...I'm already dreading the process!) Looking so forward to your live review! I always enjoy your humor and outlook.

Anything we should know about the Magic or our ports?
pcvtmom replied to farjar's topic in Carnival Cruise Lines
I agree with Duanerice1. We've snorkelled all over the Caribbean, but nowhere as spectacular as Bonaire. We booked Seacow Snorkel, through Carnival, and the crew was exceptional. The Magic has a nice layout, with a Lanai exterior deck (5, I believe) going all the way around the area. It has great seating, several hot tubs, and lounge areas. I love the spa, with the thassotherapy pool, on the Magic. It's worth it to me to get the spa pass for the length of the cruise. -
Upcoming 14nt Hawaiian on the Miracle
pcvtmom replied to Tazzybear14's topic in Carnival Cruise Lines
KKB, we must be on the same cruise...January 8th? It's bitter cold here in Virginia, too. Looking forward to the islands. (I hear the first couple of sea days will be chilly and rough)! We've not been on the Miracle, but we've sailed her sister ships, Pride and Legend, numerous times. It's our favorite class of ships, due to the layout and space per person. See you onboard! -
Willdra's Visual Carnival Vista Oct. 15-22 Review

Your reviews ALWAYS make me smile! Bless you for entertaining and informing us! -
https://www.cruisetimetables.com/ The above link is what I use to research ships in port. It's not affiliated with Carnival, but you can see which Carnival ships are in particular ports on the dates you choose.

Greg, you are doing what I had PLANNED to do back in February, after our cruise on the Horizon. We were staying (I thought) near Little Havana, and I had planned to walk around, sightsee, and eat (and drink Cuban coffee). Thanks for the screw-up, Expedia! ๐ฃ It took almost 3 hours on a Sunday afternoon to find out where we were actually staying. The confirmation for the room I booked said one hotel, but they actually booked us in another! The hotel we ended up staying at didn't even exist at the time of my initial booking, it was so new. The desk clerk couldn't figure it out, and the Expedia agents were impossible to deal with on a Sunday afternoon. Lesson learned...never again. Needless to say, we didn't get to tour Little Havana. I'm touring vicariously, through you! Thanks!
