We always use them for transportation! We used them most recently for our cruise on the Horizon, June 10-18. Stellar service and great communication prior to pickup.

Just get a taxi to The Boatyard! It's one of our favorite things to do in Barbados. Beach, food, and drinks... -

Epic review! Love your humor and comprehensive coverage of the ports! I've been on the Pride several times (love Spirit classβ€οΈ). You and B did her justice! The food and drink pics were great. Thanks a million! Now I can fly out tomorrow for my Horizon cruise... -

The spa pass on Magic is definitely worth it! -
I'm thoroughly enjoying your review! I've been on the Horizon once, January 2022, and will be on her again in a week and a half (EEK!), with my adult kids, their spouses, my husband, and all 4 of our grandchildren (ages 7, 6, and two 2's!). We, too, are from rural Virginia (the Shenandoah Valley, to be exact). Your trip report is getting me pumped!

I've been waiting patiently to add you to the list of awesome trip reports I'm currently following. My next cruise is June 10th, on the Horizon. I'm really not sure when I'll have time to pack! π

On our Hawaii Journeys cruise, Carnival had a guy doing caricatures. -
Where do you find quieter areas on Carnival Magic?
pcvtmom replied to wrightkj's topic in Carnival Cruise Lines
I really liked the lanai on deck 5, which stretches around both sides of the ship. Cloud 9 spa is particularly nice on Magic, so you may want to consider a spa pass for the week! -

I cannot believe the number of stellar trip reports to follow this week and next! So far, Saint Greg, TxTeach79, Eli_6, TravelBluebird, Jamman54, SRQbeachgirl, IntrepidFromDC, BlerkOne, and sid_9169 are on my follow list! People!! I've got a cruise to take in exactly 2 weeks, and I can't get anything done because I've got to read your trip reports! Seriously, is this the best lineup EVER?? Thanks to ALL for your extraordinary efforts! -
Ridiculously awesome report, as usual, Sid! Thanks for the entertainment and cruise "enrichment".

Looks like a handpan steel drum. We heard a gentleman playing one when we were in Hawaii. -

Fingers and toes crossed that you get luggage delivered today! We're all on the edge of our seats trying to WILL your luggage to Barcelona. B's head okay today? Those sangria headaches can be intense. π§ -
I'm excited for your LIVE trip report! I got a chuckle out of your second post (concerning your husband). My husband and I are Diamond with Carnival. He rarely knows where we're going, and leaves all the planning to me! When we go to the Platinum/Diamond party, and they show the video of ships, he asks "which ones have we been on?" π

Thanks so much for your trip report! We'll be on the Horizon in less than 3 weeks.π I'm sorry to hear about the SAS problems. We've used them in the past, and we've booked them for our cruise in June. I hope we don't have the problems you experienced.

Norfolk terminal stepped up. Nobody had any issues
pcvtmom replied to csoud68's topic in Carnival Cruise Lines
I'm THRILLED to hear this! We were on the cruise last year where it was a complete mess, and cars were vandalized. We waited on the buses from Cedar Grove for over an hour...just parked outside the port, but not allowed to get off. I was so in hopes that Norfolk would get their act together, and it sounds like they have! We want to be able to cruise from Norfolk again, since we live a few hours away. Thanks for the report. -

I so enjoyed your trip report! Sunshine (and Charleston) are favorites of ours. -
Recent food experiences on the "spirit" class ships?
pcvtmom replied to William142's topic in Carnival Cruise Lines
We cruised to Hawaii on the Miracle in January. While the food wasn't quite as good as it was pre-pandemic, we had some delicious food every night. At lunch, I tend to eat salads and desserts (guilty pleasure reserved for cruises!!). I really think Carnival has upped their game on the lunchtime desserts, particularly the funfetti cake! π -
The Pride is currently in dry dock, so she should be spruced up when back in service. The Spirit class ships are our favorite, size-wise. We've been on the Pride multiple times, and we've always had enjoyable experiences.
-
I would answer "yes" to the first four of your questions! While parking at the port may not be the cheapest, it is easy and SO convenient. As far as water is concerned, ordering ahead from Carnival may be the best option, as others have suggested.

Is there any permissible steamer or iron you can take on Carnival?

Downey Wrinkle Out Spray is a life saver! We always pack the travel size.
