  1. Thank you. So, a B2B is potentially a good way to use them if there is an itinerary that suits and it equals a bigger discount than any offers at the time? What do you think?
  2. Do you also get B2B discount or is this not applied? Or, actually, do they still do this? Thanks uktog.
  3. By onboard booking benefits, do you mean OBC, etc or the 5% onboard saving please? Thanks.
  4. Thank you both. I have assumed it works best on a short cruise ie 7 days if you were going to use them. What happens if you b2b?
  5. We are going on the ZQ so hope the cockroach issue is solved 😬🤦‍♀️. Great photos.
  6. Hello all Could you please help me to understand how this works. We have 37 points earned in a balcony cabin previously and will have 104 in a continent suite later this year. So, just short of moving tiers. Do we have to complete a further cruise before we become entitled to the 2 free nights and other benefits at Explorer level? Thanks.
  7. With 4 pre-cruise nights, you could potentially look at Camps Bay which is a reasonably safe beach area and is stunningly beautiful. You can get the Hoho from Camps Bay for all your sightseeing. Personally, I think as we are docked at V&A at the end of the cruise, it’s worth looking somewhere else for a few days. We are staying at the Vineyard Hotel pre-cruise which is a nice area and close to Kirstenbosch and then the Bay Hotel in Camps Bay for 5 nights before we go home.
  8. They gave me the details for the taxi firm they use and I booked with them. They were very quick at responding, etc. Richards Bay Transfer Basweli Travel & Tours Mobile Cell: +27(0)78 0990 057 Mobile Cell: +27(0)76 5961 618 Email: singakwenzabasweli@gmail.com
  9. Hi. We are on this cruise. We arrive 2 days ahead and are then spending time at Victoria Falls, the Chobe River and a final 5 nights in Camps Bay. We have booked Thula Thula direct and have also booked the high tea at the Oyster Box in Durban direct; both for a fraction of the cost. We have booked Pumba through the ship and will book the markets in Durban but it isn’t showing online at the moment. Not sure on Maputo as yet, considering a pool pass at the Polana Serena or doing the ship tour which includes lunch at this hotel.
  10. I can see it’s potato. It’s the right colour!! Thank you.
  11. They are available in the UK. In fact, Aldi one of the discount supermarkets stocked a nice one but have just discontinued it after several years. Waitrose, premium supermarket stock Chateau Musar. You tend to find them more in restaurants that have an extensive wine list. I always look for them as you are generally guaranteed a treat. I am talking about the reds from Bekaa Valley, Chateau Musar being one of the best. If you ever get a chance to try it, don’t hesitate!
  12. That is such a shame. Arabic is so tasty and Lebanese wines are wonderful. It is the home of Mediterranean/Turkish cookery; it all stems from this.
  13. Thank you. That sounds amazing. We love Lebanese/Middle Eastern and often cook it at home. That’s enough to send me looking at a Suez crossing 😅.
  14. The Suez sounds amazing. Thank you. We should have enough nights to try it!
  15. Thank you both very much. I had searched and found $95 but it was some time ago. Good to know it is the same.
  16. Thanks very much. I imagine we will see the train station, etc on the way there. I am talking to the hotel for prices.
  17. Thank you Phil. We are not really room service people but might do it one evening perhaps. We will be happy with something off the normal menu if we do. I have never heard of baked potato soup. Does it taste like eating a baked potato? I can’t imagine it!
  18. Thank you. That is great to hear. Just what we are hoping for! The Chobe cruise was the main reason, we didn’t chose Addo as we hope to be fully Elephant sated at Chobe and also Thula Thula!
  19. Hello Could anyone tell me what the current price is please? Many thanks.
  20. Sounds yum! Apart from the buffet, was the excursion worth doing? I ask because we are considering getting pool passes for the morning at the Polana Serena and then having lunch. I wonder whether you will see some of the sights on the way from the port to the hotel? Based on what you did, what do you think? Thanks 😊
  21. Haha! I will watch my bag 😬! We are doing a fair amount of wildlife. We are out for just under a month and are also doing a 2 night cruise on the Chobe River and are staying on the Victoria Falls Private Reserve, so we should be ‘wildlife’d out’ after all that! Thula Thula is one of the main reasons for doing the cruise. Having read Lawrence Anthony and Francois books; I have to visit.
  22. Hi Phil When you say big suites can use the specialities for room service does this not include continentals? Thanks.
  23. Thula and Pumba are the ones we are doing. Pumba with the ship and Thula independently.
  24. I have to say no because my TA and us are having a hell of a time with customer service reneging on an upgrade price after our cabin has been moved. Our TA has had enough, spent way too much time on the phone trying to get through and then nothing but hassle which quite frankly she can do without as can we.
