Also, technically I’m sailing in balcony on the Mardi Gras over Labor Day; penthouse suite on Carribean princess to Norway last week of September; then Penthouse suite on Regal over thanksgiving. BUUT, after THAT; probably no cruises until Christmas 2028.

I also just got a fresh haircut (haven’t shaved yet; waiting till night before cruise, so I don’t have to pack my shaver) the lady said “let me give your hair a style” previously I’d just shave it with a clipper no guard on the sides and a 4 on the top.

Getting this party started a bit early… Itinerary is: SeaDay, Juneau, Skagway, Glacier Bay, Ketchikan, Victoria Originally this was booked for me and my ex-wife (booked using a “Come-Back-Soon offer from a mid-February Mexican riviera cruise; at the time we were just separated so there was hope; but she slammed that door last week) SO, it was to be a solo cruise, in a penthouse suite..until I talked to my cousin (we’re the only two in a family of 7 cousins, who never had/wanted kids; so we’re a lot alike) and she said “Eff yeah I wanna go!” So I switched my second passenger to her and her husband is coming along too. (He just had to pay taxes & fees of $580’ish) (he’s basically like my cousin too, they’ve been married 12 years; we’re all from the same hometown) It will be their first princess cruise; and my first “suite” experience. (I’m platinum) I’m Flying out of SMF on Saturday morning at 9:45 (it’s only a 90 minute flight) Cousins are flying out of ONT (they live in San Diego) a little earlier because they’ve got a little farther to go. We’re going to land around the same time at SEA, and catch an Uber to Port-91. As I said earlier we’re in a Penthouse suite (right across from the Suite Lounge actually); and it was booked comped under “Come Back Soon” offer (coupled with PrincessPlus, and $2500 freeplay); we bid to upgrade to an Owners suite for $87p/p (spread over three people), but didn’t get it. (I didn’t really WANT it because it’s on the back of the boat; but the extra 100sqft would have been nice) We don’t have any excursions planned. This is my fourth Alaska cruise since 2018 (previous three all on Carnival); and my cousins second Alaska cruise (they can’t remember when but I think it was like 2015 on RCL) so I’m going to show them all the tips and tricks a seasoned Alaska cruiser knows. As a heads-up this report may get weird; like I said I just found out my ex slammed the door on me (got a lawyer and is coming after me for everything she can), So I’m trying to make the best of this cruise since I will most likely be on of my last for the next 54 months. (Got one three more booked/paid for this year already luckily…) So my mind may be in a bad place, but like I said, I’m going to try to enjoy it, for my cousins. I still haven’t packed yet, haha. this will be my first alaska cruise where its ACTUALLY cold (always go over the 4th of July, and it’s always been in the high 80’s) I just bought a good set of binoculars from Amazon (delivery tomorrow luckily prime)

As a Non drinking (by choice), single 41 year old.…I feel your son’s problems. I’m not going to sit at a bar on the ship, and there’s certainly no 30-40 year old single women on the ship (who aren’t therr just to get absolutely trashed drunk) so we share the same dilemma of what to do.

On carnival yes; I was banging out 100Mbps (off vpn) but I don’t think it’s StarLink…or if it is, oddly Princess *also* has StarLink and all you’ll get on a princess ship is about 4Mbps.

Agreed. i was recently on the celebration over Memorial Day; and EVERYONE complained about unruly kids…personally it didn’t affect me at all. (But I don’t hang out on lido nor at the bars)

That’s because idiotic mismanagement; casinos are literally licenses to print money.

That Singapore Chili Lobster is the best dish I’ve had on ANY cruise ship..it was GOOOOD! (And not spicy at all! But then again my California spice tolerance is probably much higher than a Midwest spice tolerance)

FWIW; it charged my card; but I definitely want to make sure I get a spot at Catch the first night. it sucks it charged for two; when the “wife” 99% chance won’t show.

Following! was just on the celebration a couple weeks ago and enjoyed it. (Excel is my favorite class)

To interject on the fresh fruit selection on Royal class buffet (World Fresh MarketPlace) it is among the best I’ve ever seen on a cruise ship! It’s literally the reason I almost only sail Royal class; the food choices (including fresh fruit) are amazing.

5Mbps download probably wouldn’t be good for an actual “work” vpn. that makes me sad..recently on carnival celebration it was banging 100Mbps Down! I was HOPING princess would have finally got their act together.. looks like it’s going to be TOUGH to work on the ship at the end of this month (discovery to Alaska)

I would be interested in actual numbers (download speed and latency)

So this will be my first time in a suite..I see it includes speciality dining on the first night..can I book this in advance or do I need to do it once I get on the ship?

I stepped on the scale this morning; I only gained exactly 1lb (Which kind of surprises me; with as much exercise as I did I would have thought I’d of lost) This will conclude our program. Thanks again for everyone following along. The next installment will start June 28th.

Thanks! I finally got home at 1:30; and finally passed out at 2:30 after unpacking a little (meds and stuff) and cleaning the cats litter box.

BELIEVE ME; at a certain price point you’d say yes to that kind of commute. I mean I’ll TRY..but like I said earlier; it’ll be a princess one so I’m not sure if cross-posting is frowned upon. Also; just landed at 10:50pm PST. Still have to get to my car then drive 90 minutes home. Weeeeee So, for those keeping track; I woke up at 7:30am EST; and was in the airport at 11am EST; haha.

Yeah; from now on; I’m only flying first, I don’t care the cost. (Even though it’s not a “true” first class domestically, its still better then being twisted up like a pretzel)

In 5.5 hours I will be at SFO; hooray. looking like maybe only a 90 minute drive home.
