  1. We have always rented a car when cruising from PC. We use Budget. Has always been very easy and have never had to wait more then 15 min for a shuttle to the port and about 20 mins back from the port. Do not know if they will shuttle to hotels as we always do drop off the morning we sail. It's only about a mile to the port from the Budget office.

When you look for rental car locations, use Cape Canaveral, not Cocoa Beach.

  2. The charter cruise that Miracle was scheduled for is February 2017 from Tampa. They have changed that charter to the Pride. Speculation is that Carnival is planning on swapping the Miracle with the Splendor. The Splendor is to wide to go through the existing Panama Canal and Carnival is waiting for the completion of the new canal which was originally scheduled to open in 2016. Completion now is scheduled for sometime in the spring of 2017.

  3. I liked the old recipe much better. New version is like a flat bread with a 1/2 teaspoon of sauce. I miss the anchovies too!

Lines seem to indicate people like the new one or are they just getting what they can get?

You know, we have been on close to twenty cruises on several lines and I Have never had slice of pizza on a ship. I like pizza but I never seem to get around to trying it on a ship. I guess I need to put that on my must do list for our next cruise.

  4. Friends are on the Conquest and a water pipe broke and several cabins on several decks affected. Full ship and nowhere to move people to other cabins. When they boarded they were told that there was a water leak on the previous cruise and they were doing repairs and would sail late. She was not sure what time they did sail as they were asleep.

Seems the repair may not of held.

  5. My cruise on the Serenade OTS next month has 346 people registered for the M&M.

I know that travel agents sign people up for these for the freebies. People who are not active members of CC and who don't post so really what is the point of having such a large group?

I have been on M&Ms on Transatlantics where there has been standing room only and impossible to find people to mingle with.

I had to laugh reading this, kind of like "can't see the forest because of the trees."

  6. We did this on the Breeze. We had about 20 people including my wife and I. There was enough food for twice as many people and was very good. Great service, captain was really nice and friendly, photos turned out great. We were very happy with Carnival and the service.

  7. If you find the code, make sure the description matches up

There is a code floating around here with a description of crew rate

Hotel Maya I believe has wised up now and they do check to see if you are actually a carnival crew member at check in

We took a chance and used the code and they asked for ID at check in

We couldn't get the big discount

But they were kind enough to give us some discount and comp the parking

They were really nice about the whole thing and I would certainly consider staying there again, with or without the big discount

Yea, I know they changed that one. Seems what I am finding now is they no longer have a the better rate for park and cruise.

  8. is it normal for a hotel to give two quotes by two different people?

Sometimes if you call the hotel directly you can get a better rate then calling the corp reservation desk. I tried calling the local # for the Maya, but got transferred to the Corp reservation desk.

  9. Thats weird. I called on June 28th and was able to get a rate for my cruise next February. $159 for a balcony with a water view. I have an email into the GM as my friend was just told the same thing. I'll post back when I hear something. They're usually pretty good about the quick replies.

What # did you call? I called and got the Hilton reservation desk and she knew nothing about a cruise and park, quoted $333 per night.

  10. We stayed at the Hotel Maya when we sailed the Splendor and had a discount code for Carnival. Rate was around $130 and included parking and shuttle. Does anyone know if they still offer this and the discount code if they do. I called their reservation desk (Which was the Hilton reservation for all hotels, could not find local hotel #) and they were quoting $333 per night and said they knew nothing of the Carnival discount. Last time we booked online and just entered the code.

  11. Just off the freedom today. Here is the procedure if you buy booze either in a port or on the ship. You pick up your booze on the morning of getting off the ship in one of the restaraunts.

Hang around for a few hours then finally get off the ship. You go thru customs with your declaration paperwork. You are allowed 1ltr of booze per adult "duty free"

after you are done then you head out of the building where there is a table just inside the exit with people mentioning about the Texas liquor tax. Heard about $3+ per bottle. Yep same "duty free" liguor. Now what i observed is that if you get your booze that morning and put in your carry off luggage, go thru customs with your declaration slip and continue out the door past the table. No checking of bags ect. On the honor system on your "duty free" booze.

    Just a public service announcement.

Isn't this only for Texas residents or only if you plan to stay in Texas over 2 days or something?
