As a solo cruiser and recently been on the Azura they have solo meet ups arranged in the evenings in the Sindhu Bar, advertised in the Horizon Daily Information Sheet and every morning! On port days some solos meet up in the morning and get off the ship and explore together!

Taxis directly outside terminal, costs approx £6/7 to Southampton train station! I recently left the Iona approx 8.45 a.m and was at Southampton train station at 9.30 a.m. I had an open train ticket so had flexibility with times! Hope this helps!

I was on freedom dining and ate in the MDR every evening. I went early approx 6.30 and had no trouble at all getting a table and was out in plenty of time for the 8.30 shows! I had the impression from others that the later you went the busier it was!

I now feel the need to confess!😅😅 Recently on the Azura I went back to my cabin, the door was open and I went in to find all my worldly possessions had been stolen, the room stripped bare! It took me a few moments of profound shock until I realised I was on the wrong deck! The Steward was using it to store bedding! In embarrassment I quietly retreated back to the correct deck! It could have been very embarrassing though! 😅😅

I wouldn't let this put you off! Everything else on the Azura was very good and I wouldn't hesitate to book the Azura again!

Yes, still the same! I don't understand why loud pop music is played at the Buffet, in the morning, or at any other time! Having said that had a wonderful time on Azura!

I have been on Iona and Azura this year and my cabin was spotless and so was the rest of the ship!

I was on the Iona in January as a solo and had a fabulous time! You will have the opportunity to meet with other solos but you can choose how little or how much time you want to spend with others! You may have moments of sadness and that is perfectly understandable but having the company of others may help you! Good luck!

To be perfectly honest I am just grateful that I can! Coming through a pandemic relatively unscathed I am not going to worry about the minutiae that others seem to worry about! I have been on two P and O cruises this year, Iona and Azura, and had a fabulous time on both!

Has anyone visited Taranto? Have read really mixed reviews so trying to decide whether to explore on my own or to do an excursion!

Oh dear, doesn't sound as if you had a good day. Taormina is so beautiful as well but best seen in the sunshine. Sounds as if this excursion was just Taormina. The excursion I am looking at involves visiting three villages including Taormina. Thank you for your response.

Hi, could anyone who has been on this excursion tell me how long you spend in Taormina. I have been to Taormina before and would love to revisit but maybe combined with visiting other places!

I have now done two solo cruises and many solo land holidays. I have another three cruises booked as a solo! I find travelling solo quite liberating as you have the freedom to do what you want when you want. Having said that though it's always nice, especially in the evening, to have a chat and drink with company. I think once you have done one solo cruise there will be no stopping you. Go for it!

Same here! I boarded 12.15 p.m and my case arrived after 5 p.m. I was getting a little worried when I saw everyone's cases outside their cabins and mine hadn't appeared! As I boarded early I expected it to arrive early! But all was well!

Apologies, I believe it was the hop on hop off bus that was waiting!

Recently visiting Barcelona the blue bus was waiting at the World Trade Center after the shuttle drop off!

Is it a Jet2 flight? If so have you tried accessing via the Jet2 website?

I had no problems using the app or understanding the instructions for joining the queue, leaving the queue or I am on my way! It was all very easy!

Also please note I have recently come off Iona and had a wonderful cruise!
