  1.

I think their account is the best I've read....and I really appreciated the map showing the path taken from Aruba to Key West. I could actually have looked at a map myself, but I didn't.

  2. Have never booked under pool deck before and now am worried about TA on Indy next year. We are in 1268, which looks like it's below the solarium area...anyone know if this is noisy for those below?

We usually book in JS below Windjammer and haven't had a problem with noise, we could hear some but it never disturbed our sleep, hope this won't be problem in 1268....

We have been below the solarium and have heard noise. Cleaning, I guess.

It is not terribly bad and ear plugs should take care of it. We have heard noise under a lot of the "public" areas that are cleaned at night and any area which is conducive to rolling carts is problematic.

  3. I keep a detailed list of cruise# date cabin# ports etc.....I also was missing my 3rd cruise back in 1996 to Hawaii on the CCL Tropical. I posted the dated on Carnivals board and on Cruise Memorabilia board. I did get my itinerary plus more.

    Good Luck.

I do that too now....because we kept second guessing whether or not we had seen certain entertainment, had the CD or Captain before, etc. I was able to get the info on all past cruises except one and now I just keep a blank sheet with all the "categories" (ship, cabin #, CD, Capt., entertainment, tablemates, etc.) in my carry on for each new cruise to add. It has really come in handy.

The cruise I am missing is Monarch of the Seas on Sept. 24, 2000. All I can find is the seapass card.

  4. In 2000, we cruised our first two with Disney. I think that itinerary will be easy to find. ;)

Thought I would just post the cruises we have been on, and then maybe someone will have been on the same cruise and can help out. Thanks for the suggestions. ;)

We were on Serenade in 2004 (Feb.) and it was doing the Southern Caribbean: San Juan, St. thomas, St. Maarten, St. Lucia & Barbados)

  5. Going through the Bay of Biscaye was rough (usually is) and a lot of people were sick (did not bother us so just guess it will depend how sensitive you are). The weather was great and after we left Funchal it was HOT! We did a more southerly route than you will be doing and you will be two weeks later but you should still have pretty nice weather. I am convinced that the fall ta is better than the spring but they keep pushing the fall later and later.

The Windjammer had a lot of British foods (mushy peas, English bacon, etc.) and that was fine with me as I like all of those and found it to be a nice change. There were also tea kettles & tea in the rooms. While I like tea a lot, I did not use these but I'm sure many appreciated having it available.

I was a bit disappointed in the desserts in the WJ but thats OK too--I surely don't need them.

  6. I have the Compasses but they are packed away and I am really overwhelmed right now trying to get ready to catch up with Mariner --leaving Friday.

There were plenty of activities and the entertainment was geared mostly to the British pax but I enjoyed it very much. A lot of people could not relate to some of the references and jokes however. No need for worry though.

I'm thinking there were 3 formal nights.

  7. We were on the Indy transatlantic and it was a most enjoyable cruise.

Actually, I was prepared NOT to like this ship because of size but it is just like Mariner on steroids and did not seem crowded (except for elevators). There were plenty of activities for all those sea days (altho I did not participate in many--read, instead). Will be happy to answer any specific questions.
