  1. We won't ever have solar ships but electric ships running off batteries will be the future as batteries become more powerful and faster to charge.
  2. Was the price you paid clearly a mistake or did it seem like a genuine price? If you are in the UK speak to citizens advice as when you pay a deposit for a cruise you have a contract with the seller so they should honor the price.
  3. Putting glass bottles in your luggage is obviously stupid, even if they told me to do that I wouldn't as you use common sense. 15 visits to guest services? Why? It sounds like you were angry from the start due to the bottle damage and wasted massive amounts of your time complaining. As for the couple of comments about not speaking English, you are not in England! Why do people think everyone everywhere should speak English. It seems you were determined to find problems to complain about because it was your husband's birthday and the bottle you put in a case got things off to a damp start. I hope if you cruise again you will use a little critical thinking and some research before boarding and you will have a much better time.
  4. Only been on Disney but have a couple of Celebrity cruise's booked. On Disney they have no issue with thicker toilet paper or tissues being flushed as far as I can see. No notices and our stateroom attendant advised when I had a cold to flush the tissues as long as it wasn't lots at once as the toilet breaks them up. I have Crohn's and flush wipes the ones without plastic and non-woven that state they can be flushed and have never had an issue as i can see them being turned to mush when flushed. I keep them in the bathroom next to the toilet and no notice has been left or anything said. Maybe celebrity didn't invest enough in the suction system for the toilets or are cheap with the toilet paper.
  5. Missed port is often a reason on cruise insurance
  6. The ships are registered in overseas countries not the company. Companies have to comply with the laws of the countries they are selling in.
  7. We just booked our first cruise with Celebrity and it doesn't look in any way luxury, maybe that's people wanting to think they have a higher status in life. We only paid £2950 for 12 night Scandinavian cruise inside room with $400 OBC. That's just £245 a night with AI which would be impossible to find on a luxury line. We have been with Disney a few times and don't pay anywhere near that for the same room category and I wouldn't call Disney Luxury more premium and I expect Celebrity to be on a similar level for food/ship quality but not entertainment. If people are finding the prices are rising I can't imagine what bargains were had in the past!
  8. Italy has far better healthcare then the US which consistently scores low, you just got unlucky with a small town medical clinic. https://www.statista.com/statistics/1290168/health-index-of-countries-worldwide-by-health-index-score/
  9. Sounds like Starlink is making no difference at all. The number of users connected onboard most likely has something to do with that plus like most Musk things it's overhyped.
  10. We were recently on a Disney cruise and while I don't actively look out for trans people I did not a couple over the back to back cruises we did there could have been more. One was an older woman maybe early 60's and didn't seem to have any issues as I saw her in ports in the Caribbean. The other was a teen boy seemed to be running around the ship with all the other teens. I think most people just don't notice or care from the passengers prospective. Hope you get to enjoy a cruise soon.
  11. We have done a Disney Dover to NYC in 2019 it was great. not many kids as it's longer and more sea days, we missed ports so it was mainly sea days. The atmosphere on board is different as they tend to have active Facebook groups who organise events alongside the cruise lines own events. Also as it was not as busy as a normal cruise the crew got to know you more and it seemed less impersonal than many cruises can be.
  12. What this tells me is they are like me, first time on P&O and think they have to be very formal as it's seen as a bit of a stuffy old fashioned cruise company but we are giving it a try as they are fairly cheap (I have read this so now won't be packing a suit) the older more seasoned P&O cruisers already know how casual they can go so less formality.
