  1. They are not using those in standard balconies anymore they use generic products which are in X branded pump bottles that they refill. It's a Chinese made product now, has no brand.
  2. Strange as I found it not a discount at all as I booked on that promotion and after it ended my cruise was £350 cheaper.
  3. Unfortunately that's another NCL scam. I called them as I had heard of this but the cruise was £350 less online than I had paid yet when I called they said the price was £600 more than online and they didn't have access to those prices. Called twice told the same thing.
  4. In the UK they won't adjust the price if it drops. We have booked our first NCL cruise and it dropped £400 after the scammy offer ended that we stupidly booked under not realising NCL run fake offers. We called them they said nothing they can do, so emailed the cruise consultant that never stops calling and emailing and he did nothing needless to say he's not been in touch since.
  5. Sounds like a couple of issues happened like the ports and because you had arrived in a bad mood from your flight issue you found fault with almost everything. The delay boarding was most likely a customs/immigration search on the ship they have been doing more in Southampton. The missed port and delayed port isn't ideal but you just sat in your room stewing away making it worse for yourself. Unfortunately this is how many humans react including myself, off to a bad start it's hard to get into the mood and have fun. My partner always pulls me back saying we can't change it so let's find what we can do and make the best of it. I am sure you will find a new cruise line you prefer, we are not loyal to any which I find is the best way as loads of cruise lines do similar itineraries.
  6. The UK has the same as the US fake sales. I priced up a cruise a few weeks ago with the 50% off FAS priced the same this week and it's £350 cheaper. The "sales" are not sales they just increase one area of pricing and lower another.
  7. They did this a couple of times on our Silhouette cruise last month. It was $50 + 18% so about $60 which for me is poor value. It's a few little samples of each dish and some sides etc. In the UK we have great curry houses and I have lived in the Middle East too and had great curries. If you are American this might be good as I have never managed to find a decent curry in the US.
  8. We went to Scandinavia from the UK and only British baked beans were offered. I have been on American cruises and have had baked beans with bits of meat in it and more dark and smokey sauce.
  9. Just make a list of what you want and ask the server to serve it all on one plate. On the Silhouette a couple of weeks ago we had everything to make a full English. Fried eggs, baked beans, back bacon, British bangers, grilled tomatoes, mushrooms, fried bread, toast, and on some days they had black pudding but it was the more grainy variety not the Bury style which I prefer. They also had HP sauce to finish it off.
  10. WhatsApp works on basic WiFi we used that more than the app chat due to instant notifications of messages.
  11. I thought all balcony dividers on all ships have to have the ability to open by law due to fires?
  12. We were on the same ship a couple of weeks ago and there were 20 kids onboard but we saw only the same 4 all well behaved. Celebrity doesn't seem like a cruise for kids but in the holidays people will book anything they can get on to. We had about 2200 on our cruise and the gym was busy every morning so again depends on the make up of the guests as guess people with kids are not having time to pop to the gym.
  13. We were on the cruise the week before you and can't say we had any issue with food or the bars. The guest artists were great but the in-house shows were awful and the cruise director was so bad I thought he must be a recent hire so looked up his LinkedIn and was shocked he had worked for them for many years and also Disney, he was so unprofessional he reminded me of a bad compère from a British caravan resort a few people mentioned how he seemed like a used car salesman.
  14. Never read such a delusional post on here. I have visited the US a number of times since the pandemic and you are not "back to normal". Hotels that don't do daily housekeeping anymore, restaurants that use apps to order, restaurants that can't seat me because even though they have loads of empty tables they don't have servers. Staff shortages are everywhere you must live in a bubble.
  15. I think reading the reviews will give you the answer. Looking at a score won't tell you anything than it's gone down, read the reviews and find out why. Not sure what the purpose of this whole thread is other than another none specific moan.
  16. We have no status but on our first Celebrity cruise last month they seemed to be letting anyone on the helipad on a sailaway, we went there but it's an awful location it's windy and nothing there. We moved to a higher deck where there was a bar and seats. Maybe it's a status thing that make people feel special but but for us we go for comfort over 'keeping up with the Joneses' as it's nothing special.
  17. We have no problem with X they offer a great product for what we pay, we only pay for inside rooms on cruises and upgrade only if very cheap or free as we only pay less than $150 pp per night including drinks/wifi packages. Everything is subjective based on what you are paying and what you expect for that. No cruise line will be interested in a minority of complainers on here and even less so when the advance bookings are higher than ever. They will collate feedback from the guest surveys and measure the same kind of instances and match that against people's likelihood to sail with them again or recommend them as those plus advance bookings are the only important metrics when you have a lot of debt to pay off. When that position changes they may start to look at that data to see what improvements are most important to guests to ensure they maintain advance sales if they see a drop off in them. If you have a specific issue on board raise and if they can I am sure they will fix it. To answer the original post, they don't care about internet moaners it's not detrimental to the business.
  18. P&O do not set the prices for these upgrade bids it's run by PlusGrade who use algorithms to price the minimum bids, as it's new the data will be limited and based on other cruise line customers they have. Over time the pricing will be based on data of what people bid, if no one bids the current minimums they will lower them and see what people will bid. My friend managed the relationship with PlusGrade for an airline so has some insight into the service.
  19. I love the mixed bagged frozen vegetables, can't go wrong with them and fresh as the day they were picked.
  20. Stores are open everyday everywhere where people live before you get on a cruise, if people are asking what's available for free they know they have a need for them so buy them before boarding it's not rocket science. The medical clinic and store can hold stocks for people who didn't know they get sea sick but that number of people is small and are first time cruisers.
  21. Anyone who is fussy about water but has ice in any form of drinks just makes me laugh. I used to service ice machines and most of them are gross inside with mold.
  22. Just buy and take your own. Not sure why a cruise company should supply them for people they should just sell them in the store or paid from the medical centre.
  23. He didn't they wouldn't bring out frozen bags of veg they cook the food and bring out the cooked dishes. He first said he enjoyed his cruise other than an issue with the water now he's making up things to post which are laughable they are so stupid.
  24. I don't think Coco cay is aimed at the Celebrity cruiser it's more mass market. If celebrity had a private island I would expect some thing more tranquil and not a huge pool or a water park and zip slide. Everything on Coco reflects the Royal ships, loud and in your face.
  25. Because loads of those cruise's were booked with credit not cash.
