  1. Oh, I certainly understand that...I signed up for Go Green also...couldn't tell the difference either... Just pointing out it is not voluntary on RC...'regular' staterooms are once a day...
  2. Voluntarily if you sign up for Go Green. Mandatory on Royal Caribbean unless you're in a suite...
  3. As Daisyloo posted, deck 5, port side. You can't tell by the deck plan, but it is sectioned off and very private, you don't see the rest of the main dining area. This will give you some idea...about 15 or so tables... https://www.cruisemapper.com/deckplans/Regal-Princess-798/deck05-1350
  4. As already stated , you might as well ask. And post #3 if you used a credit card is good advice...see if it has any coverage for this kind of event... Good luck and best wishes for your DH!
  5. I don't think they're working together. But I do think they are all being driven by the same set of circumstances right now...resulting in the same unfortunate state of affairs in the categories you outline. They need to strive (harder) to point out what makes them different from their competitors. And it makes it even more important to do ones due diligence to find those items of value/amenities that are offered by a cruise line that help make the cruise worthwhile. ETA: Want to clarify I did not just mean RC and X...I meant cruise lines in general...
  6. I understand and agree with you (and the OP as it turns out). It should remain voluntary. I missed the 'suite' part and didn't see the post of the RC notice until just now. Pretty blunt change for those just boarding...
  7. I guess things were getting too positive around here...lol. Pot needed stirring... Personally, I'm just fine with one cleaning a day....
  8. Certainly agree! I stayed at the Leonardo Royal that evening and realized the distance to the port at that time. Decided against walking it 😂 BTW, I live in Hayward...
  9. Yep, as of today, it's 28.40 USD...one way as you said. I used it and found it to be quite comfortable and certainly reasonable IMO...
  10. Hang in there!! When I flew out of SFO last January, it was the day when the FAA grounded all flights because of a system outage...after 4 nail-biting hours we finally took off...(that was United...) I made it and so will you!!
  11. One possible reason for *everyone* being charged $10 right now is that they haven't put the system completely in place as yet (big surprise, right?) and people ordering them right now (say for a November cruise) are showing a $10 charge. If that is the case, it will likely be fixed by mailing time. Or one can hope...lol... Has the charge actually hit anyone's credit card for their future cruise?? They won't ship it until about 10 days before sailing... BTW, I think it is a great idea to ask for that $10 OBC (refundable) if one is actually charged the fee!
  12. I might call back and get a different rep. What happened to you is obviously wrong. I am not getting charged (have the Plus package) and it specifically says in my booking confirmation '*FREE MEDALLION SHIPPING prior to sailing'...they should be able to look at your confirmation and see that it is free...(at least I *think* they have access to it...) I feel your frustration...good luck!
  13. Back in the day, I wasn't a fan...but I just loved feeling the nostalgia of days gone by as I watched them on our Mediterranean cruise last June. And I agree with all the rest of your post too...
  14. Darn! So much for my hopes of doing that cruise on X! I'll just have to make do with your experiences I guess...lol...suppose I could reread Jim_lains excellent review...
  15. How could I *not* follow along with one of my fav posters?? I would like to do this itinerary so I'm pulling up a couch!!
  16. Thank you! I saw that they are included (2 a day) for Princess Plus (what we booked)...do you happen to know if those are with or without alcohol? Or an upcharge for alcohol? (It would be no alcohol with DW, with alcohol for me...lol...)
  17. I guess it's the principle of the thing?? You've spent thousands and resent the nickel and diming? How do you spend the the $10 you 'saved'?? (Or the $50 or whatever for the family??) I've done it both ways...pick up and mailed...no difference... Hope you enjoy your cruise!!
  18. I see those 'bottles' stuck in them...is there really any alcohol in them?? Not seeing the point... ETA: I'm assuming they are just decoration??
