  1. Looks like your cruise already passed, and I hope you did enjoy it! Hopefully this will help someone else as well! Not sure in your specific situation, but your Dr. can give you a prescription motion sickness if needed. I would still get the non drowsy Dramamine. My wife takes it when she needs to and it works like a champ. Now, if you want to get knocked out and sleep like a baby take regular Dramamine. Wife did that on our first cruise and had a drink with it. She barley made it to the room before passing out. She's tried the seabands and feel like they didn't work. The ezmotion liquid that goes behind the ears seems to work, but has a very strong odor.
  2. We were on the Jubilee in February and the minimum I recall was $10. They had some Black Jack tables for $5, but all were shuffle machines. They had one table that was a shoe (No machine/Hand Shuffle), but those crazies wanted $100 minimum a hand. Most of the time it was empty. Every now and then they had a lady on it, but that was it. Craps always had at least 3 or 4 people on it.
  3. Legal answer is no. However, we just got off Jubilee and saw multiple people do this without issues. Even saw one person use 4 cards at once, and brought them to her friends (out of sight).
  4. Holy cow, this is the best selection I've seen since pre covid. That would be awesome to have on our Jubilee cruise in February!
  5. Yea, I was hoping I would get lucky somewhere but nada. Not sure how many they normally have, but it could've been just after a big ship the day before and they sold out. I know on the ships it's the same way, hit or miss. We were on Breeze in February and they said they hadn't had it for a month or two. A lot of allocations are hitting around this time as well so anyone cruising in the very soon future might get lucky and have it in multiple bars. We are going on the Jubilee in February and are praying we can get at least one bottle of something good. I can do makers or woodford for a day or two, but a whole week is just brutal. First world problems I know. LOL!
  6. Like everyone said, steakhouse bar is your best bet on that ship. It's always on the list, but if they have it is a different story. Usually the highest they have is Woodford/Makers & Maybe Basil. Also, I wish Progresso had Blanton's when we went back in February. They didn't have anything from BT. Must've been a bad time to stop. lol Ever since Covid the bourbon selection has been pretty rough across all cruise lines. Hopefully BT's new expansions will start to help the supply in a few years. Taters will be taters!
  7. Oh I know they will be up charging. Just hope it's not stupid insane prices like RC. No way I'm paying $600 for a waterpark for a day.
  8. I agree it's going to be just like Coco Cay from RC, and almost every cruise will stop there. Nothing wrong with that, as long as it's done right. Biggest gripe about Coco Cay is the up charging for the "exclusive" spots and the water park. The water park on average was $161 a person, which is insane to me. The beach club (private pool/lounge chairs/better lunch) was $179 a person. A private cabana on the beach was $900. I understand "it's optional and an experience, but geeez. Especially with the water park being over $600 for a family of four is just stupid. Side note, the food options were fairly good for "free" and the drink package is included on the island, which is a huge plus and let's you take advantage of getting your moneys worth, especially on a "port" day. Ok, rant over. The pool/lagoon in the picture looks huge which is nice and looks spread out. As long as they don't upcharge the crap out of us for "extras", this could be a huge plus for Carnival to compete with RC. Just please have trolleys to go to/from the ship/island. LOL
  9. I'm a little late to the party, but I just read all 30 pages today! Thanks for this Live Megan. We leave on the Jubilee in February with our two girls. Living vicariously through others until then! 😃
  10. We did it this pas March with a 5 and 7 year old. They loved it. It cost $10 per adult and $8 per kid. To us, it was worth it for the little extra just to be able to take the individual pictures and the experience. The food itself wasn't anything special. It was themed for Cat in the hat, but do have regular options as well. I had the fruit loops French toast ( I liked the regular French toast at brunch better). We're going on a cruise in February and we are doing it again for the girls. I think it is good to do one or two times, but after that not again.
  11. Correcto Mondo. They also will not allow doubles, as that counts as two drinks at a time.
  12. You get to enjoy all 15 alcoholic drinks 😜 Soda/Soft drinks don't count towards it
  13. Depends on what deck they offered? 11 or 12 is normally the highest we will do on Excel class. Also depends on location of front/mid/back vs what you have now. Only thing about cove would be if rough seas/bad weather they would lock the balcony door and you couldn't go outside.
  14. Yea, the seating itself isn't too big of a deal. Just closer to the entrance so "quicker" and easier to hear the announcements. I think the biggest benefit for us was with little kids, not having to sit there for an hour or two. Also, bypassing the guest services regular line was a life saver when they are 20 people deep. They had separate seating in Galveston back in March for all different groups, but who knows. TBH as long as I'm not at work I could care less. 🤪
  15. That's crazy! I can't believe that they didn't have it or that they didn't know where it was. At least they called you before everyone else. I would've been pretty upset if they messed that up!
  16. They should have a designated area for FTTF to sit. It's normally located right by the Suites/Plat/Diamond. It was sort of hidden, we had to ask where it was in Galveston. We were on the Breeze in March and they let us go in right away. We didn't have to wait for the designated time.
  17. If you want more of the party scene and higher class food/service, you need to do Virgin. It will be right up your ally. You will enjoy it a lot more. We enjoyed Royal on the Oasis class ships without kids, especially with the extra dining options, which are way better than MDR but your going to pay extra. We were on the Breeze back in March and we had a good time, but we also had two little ones. I stayed in the casino two nights, but left about 2 or so. I think the food in the MDR was average. Not bad, but not great. We had great service everywhere. We saw two comedians. One was pretty good, but we didn't care for the other. Just depends on your style of comedy. The shows were on par for the size of ship. Clearly they won't be as good or elaborate as the excel class of ships. After Covid a lot changed with the entire industry. Food quality/portions, room cleanings, room service, hours, ice cream/pizza, venues, etc. They got hit hard with the shutdown and are slowly getting back into it profit wise. The only thing I really dislike is they are working the poor room stewards/stewardess to the bone. They cut back to one cleaning a day for each room, but they doubled the amount of rooms they have to clean. Hopefully after another year or so, we can get back to a few more of the "normal" items.
  18. I do know 2024 sailings are not open yet for FTTF. Normally about 2-3 months before the sailing they open up, but they have opened up before that time. Also, I haven't heard about the offering not available on first year of a new ship. We are sailing on the Jubilee in February, and I sure hope they offer it. We have two little ones and it's worth it to us for the priority boarding. I can't imagine Carnival not selling it and missing out on the extra money, especially on these big ships!
  19. Like everyone has said the dynamic pricing makes it a little difficult to get the best pricing information. It also depends on the ship/class of ships you go on. Not sure what class of ship your booking or when you are leaving, but I do have a list of the cheapest pricing we saw for our last two cruises on the Symphony and Allure (7 Day Cruises). I would expect more of the Symphony pricing as our Allure prices were crazy cheap/perfect timing. Deluxe Beverage - $72.99 Per Guest Per Day (Symphony) & $49 Per Guest Per Day (Allure) Classic Soda - $8.99 Per Guest Per Day Unlimited Dining - $219.99 Per Guest (Symphony) & $175 Per Guest (Allure) Voom Surf & Stream - $146.93 Per Device ($20.99 Per Day) 10 Digital Pictures - $96.99 Arcade - $20 for $25 Couples Swedish Massage - 50 Minutes - $209 Per Guest Coco Cay Beach Club - $179 Per Guest Coco Cay Cabanas - $999 The Key - $28.99 (Symphony) & $25.99 Per Guest (Allure)
  20. Thanks! We were trying to decide to do early dining or my time with the different options. We have our two daughters that will be with us, so trying to plan out the chaos somewhat. lol!
  21. Hey Everyone, were going to be on the Jubilee in February and had a question about the dining. I know the Mardi Gras used to have a few options that cost, however if you had My Time Dining, they were free. Is that still the case or did they change it? I also know they used to give the free filet on Day 1 for dinner at Guys Smokehouse, but I also read somewhere that they got rid of that as well. Is that true? Any insight from the Mardi Gras/Celebration on the dining options/cost/etc would be great, and if you have to have My Time Dining or not. Thanks!
  22. This is so true! We met a lady about 8-10 years ago on the Breeze/Dream, that we called Ostrich. She was this older lady, crazy as heck, and had a longer than average neck. Whenever she would look around, she would pop her head up like an Ostrich and look side to side. We met her the first night, and then we saw here everywhere after that. Dinner, shows, bars, everywhere. Most hilarious thing ever was walking into a show looking for a seat. Out of all the people, we see her perched up, looking around. Then her husband walks by (not recognizing us) and talking to himself says, "There she goes again". I spit my drink out after that comment. I could only assume he thinks something similar to our thoughts, and I pray that we see them again one day on another cruise.
  23. This is what Allure has on the top of the desk/vanity area, and below the counter, in our Balcony cabin. We purchased this a while back: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B072K5ZJXF/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 It shows unavailable now, but they have tons of different ones out there. This one has a usb c for new ipads, and regular usb. Only uses one outlet , and can charge multiple devices at once. Don't bring a surge protector. They might take it due to a fire hazard. If you like Martinis, may I suggest Champagne Bar. It was our favorite spot, especially for pre-dinner drinks. It's been replaced on the newer ships by the bionic bar, and we definitely miss Champagne's! Enjoy your cruise. Allure is a beautiful ship and so much fun!
  24. Agree with everyone. It just depends. One morning it's in the 20/30s and the same afternoon it's in the 70's. No telling down here, it's a crap shoot. Just look at the forecast about 5-7 days beforehand and that should give a pretty good idea. We've been on Eastern and Western Caribbean cruises during the winter months, and it's never been cold in the islands. The water was a little chilly a few times, but once you were in, it was fine. One of the coolest things about leaving out of NOLA, is if it's not too dark, when you leave the mouth of the Mississippi and enter the Gulf of Mexico. Pretty cool to see that. Enjoy your cruise!
