For those of yall who are nice enough to post the codes, do you get them to your email?  I have both Allstate insurance for home and auto, but yet I never get any codes anymore...

Yes, I get the codes via email. But much later in the day.

The results in our case was that we were late getting back to Galveston, which not only inconvenienced all the peeps getting off the boat, but also those who had to wait extra long before boarding on the next cruise. This is definitely nothing new with the Vista, as it's been an ongoing issue for months.

That's a pretty common occurrence on all Galveston arrivals. Quite often, fog socks Galveston in, in the early morning hours. We don't have that problem, especially on embarkation. We choose the latest port check in time we can get. And for debarkation, the highest numbered tag that's available, as we always check our bags. Takes  lot of stress off of us. And at our age, we try to live as stress free as possible.

Having visually experienced the 'food abuse' of excessive amounts of bacon and of other foods, I am inclined to agree with Carnival's move to take control. If you wish to place blame on someone, that should be laid upon those that feel entitled to take more then needed, thus creating this economizing measure.

I've walked past diners in the buffet area with plates of food laid out like their own personal buffet then get up and walk away without finishing what they've taken. Such waste! I look upon that as a disrespectful attitude.

The idea of these ship buffets is that you CAN return to reload your plate anew if you wish to have more. 'Take all you WISH but eat all you TAKE".

Look for more food economizing if food abuse cruisers cannot control themselves, IMO.

    Well put!  👍👍

  4. I can appreciate your pain for having to drive 4 hours each way, just to reach the port and back.

Consider this....we are obliged to drive 6 hours, each way, from Arlington, Tx to Galveston, Tx. Our only port of choice for several reasons....age, cost, etc.

Consider yourselves lucky. And I hope you have a fantastic cruise, :classic_wink:

I'm curious as to how they (security) knew what you were bringing. We put our wine in our carry-on suitcase, which of course goes through the x-ray machine where they can see the bottles. We have never been asked to open the suitcase and show the bottles. These bottles are the same shapes - are they now asking to open suitcases and look at the bottles?

I have no idea. You'd have to talk to them. My guess is that the bottles were not in suitcases. And those bottles have a square bottom, not round.

These are probably a little less sweet and less like wine.

That's  what my wife drinks, and was planning to take a bottle on board on our Dream cruise last Sept. 26, but alas someone DID try to take it on board just before our sailing and they announced that it was confiscated at port check in. So we didn't even attempt it.

When did this happen? Recently or YEARS ago? Currently there's absolutely no requirement for a jacket and tie ANYWHERE on ANY Carnival ship.Period.

^^^^^This. I've never worn a jacket OR a tie in the steakhouse. Granted, I do wear blue or khaki Dockers, with either a blue oxford button up shirt, or a nice collared golf shirt. And no one has ever said one word to me.

I'd dispute the charge directly with your credit card. They will give you a conditional credit for the amount while they investigate the matter with Carnival directly. In my experience, once the CC contacts the cruise line directly, miraculously they process the refund immediately. Go figure.

    Excellent advice! 👍
