  1. All the more fodder for making it what it was.
  2. The revamp of the Loyalty program is way overdo. I applaud them for doing it. I am sure there are things that are tied to it that do not line up for whatever reason. Casino stuff, while a perk, I believe is managed separately. It is what it is. My view may be different than yours on whether it is a concerted effort to “dillute” the program, but all that is fine. I would embrace making it more selective, and keeping it rich, instead of event s where a third or more of the ship is plat or diamond. Again, just my HO
  3. I have been Diamond for a long time. If they made that one time offer to St Jude for someone attaining Diamond, that is great. If they changed it, so be it. Them committing 50 million to the organization (in whatever way they want, including asking their clients for donations) is simply outstanding, and as I sad before, unparalleled in the industry. But you are correct, it is up to them how they get money to honor the 50 million. My take is it sets them apart in a big way (positive). But that is just me.
  4. How is offering a donation to an event a benefit?
  5. Here is another link on their dedication to St Jude. 50 mill sure does not sound cheap to me. https://www.stjude.org/get-involved/other-ways/partner-with-st-jude/corporate-partners/carnival-cruise-lines.html
  6. I have never seen anything about a one time donation to a Diamond event for St Jude. The only thing I have ever seen done is the walk for St Jude, offered to all. Here is a link to the partnership between Carnival and St Jude. I have never seen anything close across the industry compared to what they do, https://www.stjude.org/get-involved/other-ways/partner-with-st-jude/corporate-partners/carnival-cruise-lines.html
  7. Does not sound optimal. I tried to find the FB groups and they are all private. I also do not see any live reports here.
  8. Some things change, some remain the same. Life does get in the way of cruising from time to time. We are doing a large group in 27, atking all our kids and grand kids on a med (I think) cruise, so w will be waiting a while longer.
  9. Nice! We had 16 cancelled, but pretty sure we got refunded or rolled all of them over. If you get to many let me know.😏
  10. It sure is, whomever came up with the idea, better have gotten a good raise an a bonus.
  11. I track cabin temps with a little digital thermometer. The coldest I have ever recorded was our last cruise on the Imagination, 64 degrees.
  12. Now you are letting facts get in the way of the always unhappy posters (the ones who do not even sail Carnival any more….😎
  13. I agree on the entertainment. It was not a boring cruise, that is for sure. I enjoyed the interaction we got with the captain and the staff.
  14. We were on her last year in the new cabins top floor aft and did not have a problem. That said, as mentioned, on older ships location does make a difference.
  15. Be surprised if they do not come back down to earth in the next couple months, nothing to back that up with, but everything tells me it has to.
  16. Your assessment seems right on.
  17. Done the same thing. When we get the credit I go and play it and 10 minutes later I exit as quick as I came in.
  18. demand is high, and when that happens prices are high. Things will level off to some point, where that is will be interesting to see.
  19. While I fell the same way about the pull back, not sure what the value of announcement is.
