  1. I think more than a few of us have been the victims of that one. Most recently a very drunk woman across the hall from me was beating on a door yelling "Open this f(&%ing door!!!!!.
  2. It seems to vary by ship, on Elation last week we barely noticed the paparazzi yet on other cruises it felt like we were tripping over them.
  3. I'm not sure if Carnival is doing so across the fleet, but on my last two cruises (August and October) everybody was "inspected" by drug dogs before boarding. I'm sure this is having an impact. There was a woman in front of me on the last cruise that was detained after the dog hit on her carry-on.
  4. I've been on cruises where there's a line in the lobby where people get there early waiting for the luggage tags to be put out, sometimes people got there an hour early. With the new system you go to the Hub App and choose whether you want to check your luggage or carry it off, then choose a time slot. If you choose to check your luggage the appropriate tags are delivered to your cabin. Overall it looked very good.
  5. OK, that settles my curiosity about this being fleetwide yet. I wonder when it'll be rolled out to the rest of the fleet.
  6. I'm curious if choosing your debarkation time in the Hub App is fleetwide now (it hadn't been implemented yet on our Greenland cruise in August). I saw it for the first time on Elation last week and seems like a very positive change, definitely better than folks lining up for upwards of an hour to get coveted low numbered luggage tags.
  7. To expand on the previous answer - When you do online check-in 14 days before the cruise you're asked if you want to set up on-board spending accounts for each guest. At this point you can connect a credit card to each individual.
  8. Saint Greg has the best list I've seen. https://www.saintgregtravel.com/punchliner-comedy-schedule/
  9. I agree. It's also too difficult to police, I've seen plenty of non-priority guests taking advantage of this. It's not like the ship can station someone at every hallway access to check boarding passes.
  10. I've seen people have to throw out food items / snacks which were opened or not in factory sealed containers. Maybe some people get away with it, but security seems to be pretty good at finding these items.
  11. Once again, your arrival appointment is for when you enter the terminal to begin the check-in process, NOT when you board the ship. I've done 5 cruises this year and all of them actually did check your boarding pass for arrival appointment and directed you into the appropriate line, but it varies by port. Most of the time the earliest arrival times are going to end up sitting in the terminal for an hour or so before getting on the ship, I've found it much more relaxing to opt for a late arrival appointment to avoid the lines and walk directly onto the ship.
  12. There were most definitely Playlist shows while we were on Sunshine a few months ago. Either someone was mistaken or else there was some sort of extenuating circumstance.
  13. He's certainly getting plenty of experience at helicopter evacuations, there were two on the August Greenland cruise.
  14. I was in that line also, although I guess I was a little bit "lucky" in that my wait was "only" an hour and fifteen minutes at Nanortalik and 55 minutes at St. Anthony. I get that there was only one dock for tenders at Nanortallik, but they still could have handled things better, as in having more tenders running. Yes, only one could be at the dock at a time, but there was a long delay between when each left the dock and when the next one arrive. Once upon a time I was an engineer in industrial settings where moving the most product in a given time was critical, Carnival would do well to hire a good industrial engineer to optimize the movement of people.
  15. I just got back from Legend's August Greenland trip, it was unbelievable. We were blessed with fairly calm seas for nearly the entire trip, right now it appears that might not be the case for the upcoming sailing. Hopefully Carnival gets some of the kinks worked out for subsequent trips, for instance we waited in line to get on a water shuttle coming back to the ship for an hour and ten minutes in Nanortalik and fifty five minutes in St. Anthony.
  16. I've only ever heard that referred to as the Platinum / Diamond reception ..... maybe I learned something today. And yeah, the ones I've been to on the smaller ships it was pretty much an open bar with servers roaming around pushing drinks on us.
  17. I've been on 20 Carnival cruises since 2018 and don't ever recall a "Welcome Back" party. Maybe that's been changed into what's now the "Sail Away" party by the pool?
  18. When I've looked for excursions or tours on Viator I've been able to find the exact same thing for less money directly from the tour operator.
  19. That's interesting, I just got off the Greenland cruise on Legend and the internet was consistently very good. I measured download speeds ranging from around 15 Mbps up to 75 Mbps, and never had any issues (as compared to 0 to 3 Mbps pre-Starlink). I was really expecting problems when we got far to the north but that never happened. My only gripe is that normal streaming services (Direct TV etc.) were blocked, there were a couple of sporting events I'd hoped to watch but wasn't able to.
  20. Being Platinum or Diamond gets you bumped to the front of the line when requesting your dining option (Early, Late, YTD), it doesn't help you at all with getting a table through the Hub App (I'm Platinum and as mentioned had to wait over an hour the one time I waited 'til 6 PM). Still, I suppose YTD is nice in that if for whatever reason we don't get the to dining room early we can still be served later in the evening.
  21. I've experienced this when my phone was signed off so that I could use a laptop with wifi and it kinda' sorta' works but quite often takes a significant amount of time for the message to go through.
  22. I just got off Legend's 14 day cruise to Greenland. We had Your Time Dining, which we've done for our past 10 or 12 cruises, and have always pretty much checked in as early as possible. (On this particular cruise YTD and Early Dining started at 5:00 PM, while late dining started at 7:30 PM.) One evening we felt like going to dinner a bit later and didn't check in on the Hub App until around 6 PM, at which time we had over an hour's wait and were finally seated at 7:15 So basically, it seems to me, Your Time Dining has devolved into essentially either Early or Late dining with the exception that you don't know which table you're going to be at. What's everyone else's experience with this? Did we just get unlucky that one night?
  23. There was just a medical evacuation from Legend via Coast Guard helicopter. I guess I wasn't too surprised that quite a few folks were taking video and photos despite the fact that the Captain and Cruise Director came on the PA several times specifically asking that there be no photos or video out of respect for the patient and her family. I saw a couple of morons sprinting from one end of the ship to the other trying to get the best angle for their video. In any case I pray that the lady who was evacuated can make a full recovery, and thank goodness for our great Coast Guard.
