We were just talking about the pushing of shoulder season in Antarctica. As you have experienced in Greenland, pack ice is volatile and does not read the newspapers. You can find recent records for both more and less pack ice. Get your dice out. @drron29 Great article. As for the aggressive seal pups, yes we experienced that in early January. It was pretty darn cute. Some hissing but mostly puppy dog eyes. Nothing I'd be concerned about.

Marittima in Venice question
highplanesdrifters replied to highplanesdrifters's topic in Seabourn Cruise Line
Thanks for the helpful info, you are always so kind. @cruiseej We are travelling with someone who can only walk limited distances hence the concern. We have been told that you cannot take a water taxi directly to Marittima. One must take it to Piazzale Roma where you must transfer to the People Mover or take a Taxi to Marittima. Does that jive? Seabourn said they would send a limo as usual...ha ha. We asked about the transfer at Piazzale they had no clue. I will rely on the hotel to make our arrangements. Would like to make an informed decision about those arrangements when the time comes. -
Seabourn is being less than helpful with our transfer. Out TA is ripping her hair out. If anyone could chime in on their preferred method to reach Marittima Terminal from their hotel in Venice and how best to find Seabourn check there, it would be much appreciated. We are staying at The Londra.

I sent mine to usreservations@ponant.com with the requested proof of status. Make sure you reference the name of your Club as opposed to Cruise Line Name - e.g. Captain's Club by Celebrity For those in the US still looking for status match a follow up email to: usreservations@ponant.com. did the trick. See above. Thanks again JP and Jim!

There is 'Sushi at the Club' every night on Venture and Pursuit. It's a nice change of pace and can easily be dinner. -
Silversea Water Cooler: Welcome! Part Five
highplanesdrifters replied to CCHelp 's topic in Silversea
Try to coordinate your trip with a full moon for better experience on some of the excursions. Check out the reviews below to see the difference. Personally I would skip Broome. More interesting places to go. Also, they are experiencing problems. You might explore reviews for The Pearle hotel to understand. @AussieBoyTX was there for extreme tides. We missed a lot due to neap tides. -
To heck with the naysayers! You scored a jacket off the rack for peanuts in stunning Cerulean blue and can now eat in Atlantide.

I use mine in our city place when I walk to the grocery store. I load it with heavy cans and bottles. It has been holding up quite well.

Fabulous list. Can't wait to read a few. A Sunburned Country - great fun. -
Good call! We too aften ask for a towel replacement or quick fluff. Although nice, I don't feel our bathroom needs to be scrubbed twice a day.😁 We are especially mindful on days when staff might be able to leave the ship or go on an excursion. Restocking of the fridge and coffee pods, now that's a different story.🤣

Not quite ready for prime time

Sure does feel good to let off a little steam, doesn't it? And helps to know you are not alone in your perspective. 😀 -
Not quite ready for prime time
highplanesdrifters replied to commodoredave's topic in Seabourn Cruise Line
@commodoredave. It's the corporate mother ship we all struggle with. The actual ship, specifically Venture and Pursuit should seal your heart. Seabourn staff are excited to work on them and it shows. -

But it's entertaining pseudo Elitism. A true Elitist would never post on CC. 🤣 -

Jp as always does a wonderful job of analysis. I really like the sister ships. Great size, great itineraries, but perhaps past their expiration date. -
