  1. Yes, they are available. You should check. We wanted one in particular so booked early.
  2. Well, as long as they're not licking my fingers, they can do what they want at their own tables. 😝
  3. HAL discontinued its partnership with Lincoln Center Stage some time ago. The classical music they replaced it with has been hit or miss. We have had a couple of cruises lately where there was no classical music at all.
  4. My SIL did that and they didn't catch a thing! He has another cruise booked this summer and he says he's going to try again. (He's a pretty experienced fisherman, too.)
  5. This brings to mind the lady who had a cabin directly over Vista Lounge who demanded they "move" the band playing at night so she could sleep. Another reason to research cabin location before you book.
  6. I agree. I don't visit the buffet every day, but I like the assurances that someone in front of me hasn't been touching my food.
  7. The Premium desserts were a Plus item not an Elite perk last time I sailed. Have things changed? (Plus package things and Elite things are not the same.)
  8. Ok. Halibut going on my list.
  9. I've been elite for many years. The one thing I valued the most was the free Internet (but that's gone.) The free laundry was the next best thing, but I will not be surprised to see that disappear in the future. Enjoy your new status.
  10. This thread is turning into the kid thread. Gary had more to say on the subject than just kids. If you haven't watched the video, I recommend you do.
  11. I had heard Planks and Steamers were gone. Oh well, rumors go around. This new scheme for casual dining is another annoying thing about Princess that sent me elsewhere (after 31 cruises). So does this mean even Alfredo's is a reservations/charge restaurant now?
  12. Yep. I watched that. He's right about how they have destroyed the Music Walk.
  13. That is true, and I was sad on that cruise. We have been doing HAL for the last couple of years, where they serve you at the buffet, and I must say, I really prefer it. It's not any slower, IMO. I'm glad Princess is going that route on the Sun.
  14. One hopes, but I'm sure there will still be confusion about which dining room is which and who belongs where. After the dust settles on this new scheme, I might come back to see how I like it.
  15. He talked about it in detail at the time. There's a thread here somewhere telling the whole sad story.
  16. In Maine, I don't know, but in New Zealand, they have dogs that sniff and people go to jail for sneaking food in. Chili has dogs and soldiers with big guns. The best thing to do is check with the local port authority and if they say no, decide whether you want to risk it or not.
  17. This PH or better talk could be discouraging to new O cruisers, such as myself, who are booked down in steerage. 🙃 Don't tell me we will treated differently because of that. This particular cruise is the perfect itinerary on the perfect dates, and we booked late. Rather than risk the waitlist on something with a verandah, we took an ocean view down on a lower deck. My husband is allergic to "class system" cruises and will never book on one of those ship-within-a-ship behemoths coming out on the mainstream lines. I don't want to tell him Oceania is more class-based than any others. Yes, I get it; you pay more, then you get more. I guess what I'm asking is will there be any "snobs" on O we will need to avoid?
  18. Grandma's CoQ au Vin. 😝 Most food is really fine.
