  1. We have just booked our first Azamara cruise in the beginning of 2024. Looking at the excursions, there are only a handful for each port and one port has none listed. 1. Are there usually only a few excursions to select from? 2. will more be posted nearer to the sail date (and if so, how far out)? thanks
  2. Sapphire Princess in December 2022 planned itinerary Actual itinerary
  3. We always used the bc connector, you can get on straight from the cruise terminal, but you do need to book in advance.
  4. We actually used Skywalkers at the top of the ship for viewing Antarctica. Comfy chairs, big windows, easy access out onto the deck for photos, then back in to warm up.
  5. There are a mix of regular wooden chairs and wooden “steamer” chairs. In Antarctica they turned the “steamer” chairs sideways so they wouldn’t use up promenade space with passengers wanting to be out on the deck. It was about minus 1 centigrade.
  6. We found the airport in Iceland a nightmare. Lots of North American flights arriving within minutes of each other, then waiting for connections to Europe leaving from the same gate (you get on a bus to the plane). The airport was too small for the number of passengers, you had to push (literally) to get anywhere and we swore we would never fly with them again. Mind you, this was back in 2015, hopefully they have improved since then.
  7. We have just returned from Antarctica, the internet was pretty much none existent from elephant island south. We got a refund from princess as the internet was unusable in Antarctic waters.
  8. Brand new looking games (and lots of them) on the Island Princess this summer
  9. We were told that each ship has its own list. So a song available on one ship, might not be on another ship.
  10. Elite booking 13th December, open booking on 14th
  11. The ships may use that time for dry dock before the Alaska season
  12. We are going on a land tour to Machu Picchu followed by an Antarctica cruise. We join the land tour in Lima and the Sapphire Princess in Santiago (which is an enhanced voyage with testing requirements). As far as I can tell I don’t need a COVID test to fly into Lima, but I do require one for the cruise. Yet it would be too early to test for the cruise portion before joining the land tour. Has anyone done a land tour then cruise when testing was needed? Do Princess organize the pre-cruise test on the land tour? Any suggestions or thoughts welcomed thanks
  13. We did the Hubbard Glacier excursion in May from the Grand Princess. It was the highlight of our trip.
  14. Too late for us on the Island last week
  15. That is exactly what we did, gets double cruise points too if you need them…..
  16. Not sure how old this one is, but I think it is the correct one
  17. Tru Earth. I use it for all my regular washing and for vacations https://www.tru.earth
  18. The Island Princess showed King Charles arriving at Buckingham Palace on MUTS.
  19. Menus are posted outside the dining room prior to each meal, eg once breakfast is closed the menu for the evening meal is posted.
  20. We used this berth on a b2b. It was quite a long walk into Southampton. We returned to the ship around 1pm, but we’re taken in through a side door, so didn’t see the check in area. Security was quick and we were soon back on board.
  21. You can use the medallion app to order coffee to be brought to you. I am currently drinking mine by the hot tub!
