  1. I've enjoyed all your posts and food porn, but that last picture of your orange cheesecake really made my mouth water😋 Avril
  2. Too many to count kalos😁 Reminds me of two confusing remarks I heard when a newbie to Yorkshire.... Mend the fire...... which obviously wasn't broken🥴, Mash the tea........Mum brewed tea and mashed potatoes🤫😁 Avril
  3. I've just seen this this morning and I've laughed so much I'm crying🤣. The wonderful Dave Allen, one of the all time greats. His style of comedy would be censored nowadays, as well as his glass of whiskey and sometimes a cigarette Avril
  4. We flew on a prop from Chiang Mai to Mae Hong Son and it was great. I was very nervous at first but it was a quieter, smoother and comfortable flight. Even better that it flies lower so you see more. It felt as though we were just skimming the tree tops. Loved it. Avril
  5. Until now that is😉 Avril
  6. Our first cruise in 2010 was on Arcadia, and over time we have also done two more, the last being in 2016 irc. I'm surprised that the virus is supposed to very common on her as we didn't encounter any problem at all. It may be common now but not previously, unless we were just lucky Avril
  7. Because we're being good little posters?😇 I hope that's the only reason zap Avril
  8. Our next door neighbour has some tall conifers at the bottom of their garden and they have blackbirds nesting in them every year. We had some conifers too but had them removed as they were taking some of the light from the greenhouse. They would only remove them from November to February because of the birds. Avril
  9. Hello all, I'm late today. We've been taking advantage of the the lovely weather and I have 3 loads of washing gently blowing in the sunshine. Frank has trimmed the front hedge and cut the front lawn. I've transplanted the Geranium cuttings into peat pots and now we're having some lunch. I remember when we would be busy in the garden all day, but now we have to pace ourselves and do a little each day. I'm just thankful we can still do it. I hope @indiana123 is getting on alright. Enjoy the lovely day and look forward to another one tomorrow. Sorry @Caullkhead Avril
  10. I did look into them but I think the maximum distance for free pick up was 200 miles and roughly calculated the were further away than that. Avril
  11. 'The DayThe Rains Came Down' Jane Morgan. A real oldie that dad would always play, 1957/8? The lyrics will cheer you up on a rainy day. Avril
  12. We're like Pringles. When we start we can't stop😁 I hope everything goes well for you, and that you can finally get your pain issues sorted. Wishing you all the best for tomorrow. Avril
  13. I was a little sceptical about Virgin at first, but have been more than satisfied with them. Better than Yorkshire imo. I recall the email saying x number of years, but I can't remember how many. We'll simply have to go with the flow. Nationwide seems to be on their way to becoming one of the largest banks, swallowing up the smaller ones. Avril
  14. I'd not thought about Virgin, but then again I've always used travel insurance companies. so that was where I was looking. Habit I suppose. I could look at a few days away here and search cruises for 2025. I can then look into Nationwide after their move. We'll see. After the last couple of years we just need something to look forward to. Avril
  15. Yes that's right. It was dads pet name for my mum. She was part Irish with a temper. Avril
  16. Good morning and welcome. I'm tempted to say welcome back, because I think you may have posted before. I seem to recognise the name or maybe I'm imagining it. I'm easily confused😊 Avril
  17. We bank with Virgin now, who took over/merged with our bank Yorkshire. Virgin are now in the process of being taken over/merging with Nationwide by the end of this year, and will become our bank. Maybe I should wait until then🤫 Avril
  18. I'm afraid I may falling into that category. I've been spending a little time each day with a cup of coffee and my laptop searching through this minefield only to end up with cold coffee and a frayed temper. I've been sorting out our travel insurance for over 50 years and it has never been this complicated. I'm begining to feel like an old uneducated numpty🤪 I know our ages, illnesses and now Frank's HF increases the cost of travel insurance, but the whole thing is so complicated now, and while I could always read between the lines and understand the small print, it now seems to be written in Sanskrit. As Dad always said that if something looks too good to be true, it usually is. Frustrated Avril
  19. Hello Julie. You shouldn't have waited so long to join in. Welcome to the CC family.😊 Avril
  20. You are correct Kalos. A good travel insurance with cruise cover is all we need, no bells and whistles. You know me so well😁 Avril
  21. He is thank you Graham. He's obviously not 100%, but he's getting there. Probably because he's doing as he's told😉😁 Avril
  22. Good news Graham,👍 that's what we like😊 Avril
  23. Much more of this rain Graham and you'll think were.😬 Avril
  24. I hope all goes well at the hospital today Graham' Avril
