  1. Thank you Sandra. Goodnight and sleep well. Avril
  2. I went to bed at 11.15 and last heard the clock chime at 12.30 before I fell asleep. I shall be like a limp rag for the rest of the day, but I'll be having an early night that's for sure. It's a liitle damp here after some rain during the night, but high winds and more rain forecast for today. Avril
  3. Good morning. It's been a while since I last visited the Wide Awake Club. I've been tossing and tuning since 2.30 and finally gave in and got up. I hate nights like these, they throw my whole day off. Avril
  4. Tread's fine Kalos, it's the little legs😁 Avril
  5. Are you sure? I used to be 5ft 2in, but on my last health check I was 5ft 1in. Just had a scary thought. That was 4 years ago, I could be 5ft by now😁 Avril
  6. Sorry to read that Jane, but as you say, every cloud......... Also good news that it's benign, and hopefully that if treatment is needed it will be done soon. Take care x Avril
  7. Thank you ttL. Another amusing anecdote to read with my morning coffee. I love them.😊 Avril
  8. Actually the best thing to dip in curry is Naan. If she doesn't object that is😁 Avril
  9. 'Yorkshire Airways' powered by green energy😇 Avril
  10. I was thinking the same. I think it might be better to lower my stress levels and look next year. We could probably take a warners break, but it's not like an ocean cruise Avril
  11. I've done a quick comparison site search for approx costs,a couple, 2 weeks with cruise cover etc answered all questions honestly and WOW is all I can say. They range from Travelsaver Gold??? £441.98🤨 to a magnificent and eye watering Virgin platinum £2,739.50😲 Costs more than the cruise. A minefield🥴 I give up😒 A frustrated and fed up Avril
  12. It's strange how things have change since covid. Very few doctors' visits and the majority now via phone, text or mail. Two weeks ago, out of the blue, I had a letter from my GP informing me that one of my regular BP meds was changing. ''After much research it has shown that Indapamide 1.5mg slow release tablets are not as effective as Indapamide 2.5mg and will be updated on your next prescription cycle. Please contact the surgery if you have any issues'' Not a problem in this instance, as it saved the doctor's time, but I hope this isn't a sign of things to come. Avril
  13. A bright and breezy day here but mild. Time to batten down the hatches once more. @Beckett You are always there to help others Jane. I remember clearly that you began posting to help during covid and were one of the most helpful posters to us all. You me me me all you want, it's our turn now😊 I've been browsing through some cruises recently and I wondered if anyone had some travel insurance companies they could recommend. I've not needed help before, but since Frank's hospital stay I know it will be much more expensive and probably more trip wires too😉 I welcome any help. Avril
  14. Barnsley now has a 'branch' of the hospital in the new town centre. They do all the non emergency tests etc to free up as many resources as possible for the hospital. They do xrays, scans, mamograms, blood testing, removing stitches, anything that can be done without the need to wait for hours at the hospital. Avril
  15. Beautiful and uplifting photos. Mother Nature at her finest. Thank you. Avril
  16. Goodness me Jane, you were lucky to get off so lightly under the circumstances, and I hope you're feeling a little better today. Please take care, we oldies don't bounce as well as we used to.😉 Give Ted an extra cuddle too, I'm sure he was as upset as you at the time. Avril x
  17. Tuna and red pepper risotto with asparagus for us😋 Avril
  18. @kalos We've just had a late lunch of fish fingers and salad wrapped in a Lebonese flatbread😋 Thank you for the recommendation, they were tasty and very filling👍 Avril
  19. I've noticed that you use an O2 monitor and wondered if it would be a good idea to buy one for Frank. We haven't be advised to have one, and we do keep a regular check on his BP and wondered if it might be wise to check his O2 levels too. Any advice would be most welcome. Worrywart Avril 😊
  20. Happy Easter or Happy Sunday everyone.😊 Politically correct Avril😁
  21. Sitting around and waiting is the worst thing, but all good things come to those who wait, and a cruise is one of the best. Not much longer now😊 Have a lovely cruise. Avril
  22. Now on my order for Wednesday, as well as some fish fingers.😊 Thank you Mrs K👍 Avril
