  2. On the website today: Ready To Welcome You On Board Updated October 17, 2022 It’s easier than ever to prepare for your cruise. All guests are welcome – regardless of vaccination status – and starting October 21st vaccination and testing requirements have been lifted on most voyages! This applies to itineraries to all destinations except where government regulations may vary like Australia and on a few Enhanced Guidelines voyages that have their own vaccination and testing requirements. Visit our Vaccination & Testing Requirements page for requirements regarding your voyage. View Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) https://www.princess.com/plan/cruise-with-confidence/cruise-health/
  3. I'm not the poster but to me it's speculation. FAQ in Princess site to the Queston - what if I have Covid onboard says (emphasis mine): "Anyone reporting or exhibiting COVID-19 symptoms will be reviewed by the shipboard medical staff and tested. COVID-19 cases will be assessed and treated either in their stateroom or in a designated area of the medical center in a single occupancy ward. Positive cases that do not require admission to the ship’s medical center, or medical disembarkation, will most likely be moved to a different stateroom for the duration of isolation." The statement has not changed in months whereas how covid is handled probably has. When we were on the Island Princess in mid-late May the quarantine deck was not expanded in any way and there were some tables outside cabins scattered throughout the ship on all the decks on occasion.
  4. I'm talking about the full wine list that includes all the bottles with bin numbers - was that what you were given?
  5. Anyone can ask for the wine list (book) at dinner and pick anything by the glass. You can see what the winery is. You don't have to look at the 'plus' generic list.
  6. In May on the Island Princess, our steward said policy was one time daily but he'd be happy to do twice if we wanted - we said yes.
  7. @Rick&JeannieThanks for all your posts! Can you please check the chart and see if the names of the Captain, Cruise Dir and Restaurant Dir are correct? Also name of an Entertainment Dir if possible? https://boards.cruisecritic.com/topic/2724695-princess-senior-ship-staff-inc-cruise-directors-entertainment-directors/page/20/#comments Wishing you a continued wonderful cruise!
  8. Princess updated again on the website - Greece and Canada now lumped in with US/UK/Europe https://www.princess.com/plan/cruise-with-confidence/cruise-health/vaccine-testing-requirements/
  9. Princess just updated the website! https://www.princess.com/plan/cruise-with-confidence/cruise-health/vaccine-testing-requirements/
  10. The good news - is it was updated for Canada - the bad news (from my perspective) is that Greece has gone the other way and now once again requires a booster for passengers 'visiting' . "Vaccination is required for voyages that depart, arrive or visit Greece. Testing is ONLY required for all voyages departing from Athens, Greece. Tests must be conducted in-person by medical personnel and guests will need a physical letter with the negative results. Test results proctored by video are not accepted." 13. What one now gets is a two-sided top shelf with extra outlets where the old tvs were - see the image - the 2nd tv is flush mounted on the wall at the foot of the bed:
  14. The photos are not accurate - on the last two ships we were on we were in mini-suites and they ARE flush mounted to the wall
  15. It was in May when we were on Island Princess and seems to be now - but one can't say 'always'
  16. @TessieTravels "But, I am concerned that they will decide to close access to the aft deck on deck 8 to everyone during our sailing and that makes me very sad." Don't fret - you'll be on a beautiful ship and the 'secret' aft deck 8, while there, wasn't a place we hung out because my husband was leery of all the covid cabins nearby to get there. I went there frequently but since there were no chairs, I didn't spend much time and never saw anyone else - except while transiting the Panama Canal. You can get aft views from the sports deck if all else fails πŸ˜‰ If you're in the very aft cabin then don't you have a 'window' facing aft?

  18. @MissP22 "While I'm not certain that the system on the Island is the same as the other ships I would still bet on the above instructions being likely to work. It has more to do with switching their system to the HDMI input than the type of TV on any particular ship. " It is the same as the other ships.
  19. there have been a lot of existing posts on this topic - use search
  20. I've posted this before probably earlier in this thread - if one looks at the greek govt points item 6 is about private yachts (with similar wording) and item 7 says (highlights are mine). So clearly there are some specific requirements for ships - but not specified online on their site: "7. What is the situation with cruise ships? As of 14.05.2021, cruise restrictions have been completely removed, always imposing very strict protocols that apply to these activities."
  21. There were no chairs of any kind when we were on the IP in May - as others have mentioned one side is quarantine deck so could only enter the area from the starboard (right) side.
  22. So many have focused on negative experiences and I've had my share too - but over the last month I've had very positive interactions with Princess' customer service both via Chat and phone. Chat has worked extremely well for me in clearing up questions on my (future) cruise and I like having a transcript of the conversations for future reference should it be necessary. But yesterday (Friday) I was having a medallion app issue (on phone and web-based) and chat gave me a direct extension for phone call that had someone pickup right away! The rep on the phone logged and escalated the issue and said to wait 3-5 business days and she would call me back when it was fixed. A few minutes ago I got a call from the same rep and she said the issue was fixed and waited while I was able to access my account successfully. Earlier today I wanted to confirm final payment was received successfully and was able to do that with chat without waiting more than a couple of minutes in the queue. Anyway - I've been noticing a difference - perhaps they've hired more staff?
  23. My brother and his spouse have been on two Princess Cruises (Dec 12/21 and 2/22) and a Celebrity Cruise in March. She got covid on Celebrity - and while they didn't report it, they did self-test and she remained in her cabin for the final 3 or 4 days of her cruise - my brother brought her meals from the buffet. However the cabins on either side of them got awfully quiet after hearing a lot of coughing and sneezing and when they asked their steward where the passengers went - were told they had Covid and were placed elsewhere. To my knowledge on that ship it was into interior lower deck cabins without balconies or perhaps porthole staterooms. My brother's impression was that most of the ship was sick. So Covid is everywhere - and while we all focus on Princess as we should on this board - the other lines are dealing with the same issues. Not necessarily handling it any better.
