  1. Sorry you were ill. We got back 5/26 - still no response yet even after emails to the executives....credit card paid a long time ago, but not a good process.
  2. Look at the link I posted above and you can look up by individual test and lot#
  3. For those considering the services that proctor the self-tests you already have at home - the expiration dates have been extended. Check on the FDA site for the updated expiration date for your test boxes. And keep the link - because they have extended some several times. https://www.fda.gov/medical-devices/coronavirus-covid-19-and-medical-devices/home-otc-covid-19-diagnostic-tests#list
  4. We reserved a table for two every night in advance. I would check via the tv daily to make sure the reservations were still there and if not, re-reserve. And if there was a night in the future that I couldn't reserve, I'd keep checking and one always came up.
  5. Exactly - we ate at a table for 2 for 15 out of 16 nights aboard the Island Princess. The tables were close and we were able to enjoy talking with those next to us (if they were talkative) as if we were at a shared table, yet we were on our own schedule as were they. So we didn't have to wait on everyone to be served at the same time (or waiting to start eating to be polite) as would have been the case if sitting with others. For us it wasn't fear of Covid, it was that we wanted to make the early show every evening. And we still got to chat with fellow cruisers. For us the distance was not a negative.
  6. Seems reasonable to allow the uninfected to disembark and those testing positive to stay aboard. Better than not allowing the ship to come to the port. https://www.theepochtimes.com/covid-hit-cruise-ship-docks-in-sydney-infected-not-allowed-to-disembark_4594377.html
  7. I'm also not seeing anything new that wasn't already there for several days now - 40% 2022/25% 2023 and the low deposit. Is sale mentioned throughout this topic something different?
  8. Is there really no one on the boards currently on the Island Princess - is masking still required?
  9. There's a thread with the same subject from February - you can search on it - called room service menu? someone posted a link to this site - at least it will give you an idea. Having been on enchanted and Island Princess in the last 6 mos - looks pretty similar: https://profcruise.com/oceannow-delivery-menu-2022/
  10. Just wondering if Island Princess is still undergoing covid-19 precautions and requiring indoor masking on the next trip that just departed Southampton.
  11. @JimmyVWineAgree - in all forms of travel, in stores, at work, in gas lines- we're all tolerating disruptions in service and staffing that prior to Covid and current economic conditions would have been 'unacceptable'. That doesn't mean we should ignore them or like them - but learn to anticipate. For example - one may have to plan on a flight a day earlier to catch one's cruise.
  12. We're sticking w Princess - two post-shutdown cruises (Enchanted in Dec, and Island Princess in May) and are going on the Jan '23 world cruise. That's not to say we wouldn't go on other lines - we did American Cruise Line in June/July 2021, and considered HA for their world cruise, and have cruised with other lines in the past. But itinerary matters and also agree with the above "IMHO Princess still offers the best bang for your buck"
  13. Caribbean Princess - circle caribbean cruise in nov 2019; Star Princess is now the Pacific Encounter operated by P&O https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pacific_Encounter
  14. We did the 5/11 LA to FL Panama Canal cruise on Island Princess - we liked the ship's character - as we also liked the CP (in the Caribbean), Star Princess (no longer there - for Alaska), and the Enchanted Princess - as you said - itinerary rules. We wanted to see, despite negative comments on cruise critic, if we could enjoy the ship on the world cruise and decided we could! To each their own.
  15. You're all lucky you got emailed statements. While I'd been checking all along on the app, I took no screenshots and did not wait in a long line night before debarkation to get a printout. Debarked on 5/26 - still waiting for onboard folio email despite several calls, chats, online folio form request, and emails (even to executives). I check spam as well! On our cruise that debarked on 12/30/21, received the email the following day. And it's not like they don't have the correct email - I've received the customer sat survey the day after the cruise.
  16. I have been able to insert an hdmi cable on the last two cruises, as well as briefly change the input to hdmi. On my last cruise, I actually got an image from my pc into part of the 'wake up show' window on the tv screen but then got a message saying internet speed not sufficient and went back to regular screen. So I'd say there is some crippling going on with the function. If we do go on the world cruise, I guess I've given up and will watch anything I want on my laptop.
  17. You can use your cabin's tv and make reservations, change reservations, order room service etc. Don't need to call.
  18. Interesting discussions all - but would we be having this discussion at all if we viewed Omicron and follow-on variants like the flu or a cold or Norovirus? We know what it is because common tests are available for us to self-test or be tested. Those who are asymptomatic would not be concerned or testing themselves if tests were unavailable. Just asking. I have self-tested and gotten tested so I'm in the same boat (sic) with everyone else. But in some ways this is like a full-body PET scan where something is always flagged whether or not it is benign or the individual is not really contagious.
  19. Charts and statistics are fascinating, as well as comments - but it comes down to deciding how vulnerable one is (or a loved one is), how risk averse one is and what kind of plan would one need should one contract covid....(which includes up front $$ and flexibility). If you're not comfortable cruising or traveling, no matter how much you've loved it in the past, then don't do it. We ended up being comfortable enough with travels and cruising during 2021/2022 to book the 97 day 2023 world cruise even tho' my husband self-tested positive upon getting home from the last trip and we may have had Delta back in 10/21. Will we ultimately take the world cruise? Things continue to evolve - sure covid is one factor (including masking and vaccination requirements), but so is the economy, and instability in the world. All travelers have a lot to consider these days.....
  20. For those of you who are taking care to drive to/fro your ship.... Are you not planning on taking any excursions or leave the ship? On our 15 day trans panama - we had to take a many hour flight to LA, uber to the hotel, stay in a hotel and dine there, uber to ship and from ship; took excursions in Puerto Vallarta, Huatulco, Puntarenas, Cartagena, - many of which included food/store/other interactions with people of unknown vaccination status. Now just take the same number of people interactions sans the cruising part - it's not necessarily cruising that is the source of covid infections.
  21. Agree with the comments about lots of other illnesses still out there - I'm always concerned about norovirus and have had a bad cold since covid arose. One should also consider that if you take any excursions or get off the ship you're also exposed, as well as your travel to/fro. sin 4/2021 we have also been at several large conferences with thousands of people of unknown vaccination or covid testing status - so I actually have felt safer on the ships than anywhere
