  1. I like it and find it perfectly drinkable.
  2. When you get back would you mind sharing the cabin number ? I would love a window seat like that. I know not all of them are configured like that so would be grateful for any information.
  3. Yes if you wanted to, there would be nothing stopping you. It’s your choice entirely. Dress code is not so formal so that is an attraction for many.
  4. I am pretty certain it can be card. I once did a whole Canary itinerary without cash just using my card -( no transaction fees or charges) because when I tried to draw out cash there was a £5. 75 charge. I took a tram to El Corte Ingles so must have paid by card.
  5. I have also been told of couples on world cruises who book the cheapest inside as extra space to use as a dressing/ storage room.
  6. Before I started cruising a worked with a lady who was an avid cruiser. She explained to me once when packing she had a week 1 and a week 2 wardrobe. I must admit at the time I didn’t really believe her. I can now see the wisdom of this.
  7. Because of the pricing structure you may find less solos available in Grills or B C to share. And as other posters have said even on a sharing table your companions may all dine at different times. There would be more opportunities to share with other solos in Britannia MDR
  8. No I don’t think they can. Sorry I am on her team.
  9. We had our works Christmas meal at the White Star Tavern this year and very nice it was too. Hadn’t realised how near to Ocean Terminal it was until I walked back to Town Quay to pick up my car.
  10. I would agree. I have done many cruises solo and it’s the only type of holiday I would take as a solo.
  11. I haven’t parked there for a cruise but never had any problems in the day or evening. It’s very busy and popular because it’s cheaper for example after 5 it’s only £2 until midnight.
  12. I think they very much stick to the rules. There can be only I move, must be select fare, within 12 months and must be higher in value. The deposit value isn’t a factor it’s the overall cruise value.
  13. Yes you can it’s 24 hour parking. The price has recently increased to £6 for 24 hours from £5.
  14. No room service drinks are included in your drink package. It’s just for use in bars and restaurants. They do separate room service drinks packages for an additional cost.
  15. I always travel solo. I have a small black lace one also an Amazon buy for a couple of pounds. I just wear it to dinner then take it off. That way I fell I have engaged with the occasion. I wouldn’t wear anything elaborate.
  16. My daughter is lactose intolerant and never had a problem getting lactose free milk for tea and coffee.
  17. Others on here will say different. I have always had an early time latest 1 15 I think so has never had to put it to the test.
  18. I have never seen senior staff from the ship around at check in Southampton. The staff at the terminals are employed by Intercruises They are not Cunard / Carnival employees. They are the gatekeepers to the operation . If they say you need to wait outside for your turn you have little option but conform unless you have a valid reason for not. No one is suggesting a negative approach but reminding people that boarding times are being more strictly enforced in Southampton these days so the old maxim of turn up when you like no longer applies. W C Priority boarding gets you your own check in desks so the wait may be quicker but doesn’t give you necessarily an earlier boarding time , just priority when you get there for your allocated time.
  19. I had no luck trying to link my kindle to WiFi which was annoying as I bought new books from Amazon but just couldn’t then download them until I got home.
  20. I don’t know I would imagine the owners would want their dogs with them but there will be a policy and I would suggest it would be dogs with kennel master separately.
  21. The life jackets are for the dogs in the kennels on QM2 and I doubt regardless of their provenance you would be allowed to wear/ use your own life jackets.
  22. Think it goes further than that because that’s the option on P&O too. Saver fares / their equivalent get allocated freedom dining and can only swop once onboard if there is availability.
  23. Not sure where you will find said person. At the end of the day, the inter cruises staff are only doing their jobs and what they have been asked to do. Having said that I have never had any problems with priority boarding and always stick within half an hour of my allocated time. But as I mentioned on another thread in December on QV there was a queue outside for people who had arrived too early.
  24. They had people who had turned up early waiting outside in December when I was on QV. It was not busy but they were checking boarding passes thoroughly and only priority were allowed in and those with relevant boarding times.
  25. I always like to eat alone. Sharing a table would be my worse nightmare. I have never had a problem getting a table for myself. I always go for fixed dining late sitting so have never had experience of open dining. I have seen queues early on voyages for open dining. There are sharing tables available at all sittings.
