Just your 22 year old booking all by herself??? If you look at Carnivals own policies 21 can travel alone, I am really beginning to think there is more to this story. The reason why is that a newlywed couple age 21/22 can take their honeymoon onboard.

21 years old can cruise alone. 20 and below must be accompanied by a person 25 years old and above. It's nothing new and plenty of businesses have similar restrictions because what could ever go wrong renting out an asset to a bunch of college kids?

Programming is the easy part, just a couple key strokes and it can happen. However the profit margin instantly disappears. Each package is priced based on an average amount of product consumed by the passenger. The company I am sure has this tracked very close and it is probably nowhere close to 15 drinks per passenger per day. If they allowed passengers to share the package which is what would happen if only passenger per cabin had to purchase that average would shoot up to the 15 drinks per day in my opinion. Add to that all the extra bottles of water, energy drinks, and coffee the cost would have to go way up to bring in the profits the company needs to maintain. Also one other aspect to remember is the gratuities, one package being sold one set of gratuities but twice the product sales essentially cutting the gratuities in half for the crew.

If they let under 21 board without the companion this would be the ultimate work around for the rule. How many people would simply book cheap rates and "no show" the over 21 guest? It would be time consuming tracking the passenger to allow them to board and turn around having to debark them and their luggage.

I would call Carnival directly with this. I am pretty sure that you will not be able to board.

You can bring one bottle of wine per person over the age of 21. Many people bring wine with them. Your 18 year old will not be allowed to drink alcohol while on the ship. In most ports the drinking age is 18 so no problems ashore.

I am not doubting that there were cases of Covid among 4000 people that traveled to Miami to cruise on Horizon. They may contracted prior to the cruise, in port, or even after they cruised. You can't determine that the ship is THE point of infection by the evidence that you provide. Where you have lost your argument of your claim is by first claiming over half the ship was infected providing absolutely no proof that 2000 people contracted the virus onboard, just a claim of "trust me". Then you stated extraordinary which implies an infection rate greater than in the general population spread, again with no scientific evidence or statistics. This was followed up with a claim of 100 people on a Facebook page "reporting" they have it without knowing the travel patterns and contacts that they had or even if that was correct information because is everything we read on Facebook 100% the truth? How many cases are there in your local grocery store? How about DisneyWorld? We don't know because those aren't tracked. Throwing out wild claims without factual evidence is not the way to win an argument with intelligent people today.

Mobile is really easy to navigate and get through. If you prepay your parking, use VeriFly, and can follow simple directions from the super friendly staff you can be on the ship within 30 minutes of pulling up to the facility. As mentioned by a previous poster, if there is a train that stops on the tracks in front of the facility traffic will back up but there of plenty of Mobile P.D. to direct traffic.

Just got back from a cruise on the Ecstasy with an announced guest total of 2350 people. No real lines to mention. Oh maybe a few times at peak lunch hour there might be 10 people waiting for pizza or Guy's Burgers but nothing long or time consuming. Had Your Time Dining and never more than a ten minute wait for a party of four. If the smallest ship in the fleet with the least amount of venue choices and at max guest capacity has hardly any lines or wait times I find it hard to believe it on other ships without proof, not just "take my word for it".

Chef's Table is back and I personally had it on Ecstasy Saturday night July 2nd. As debated by previous posters, I am of the opinion that the Chef's Table is NOT any kind of real profit engine for Carnival. The time, man hours and food cost is really high for an event that generates revenue of approx. $1000. Thats not $1000 profit that is simply cash flow. 12 people spending $80 for a single event isn't going to buy new ships but it keeps guests another option to spend $$$ onboard.

It can be done. Just book the best offers as guest 1 on both cabins with the second couple split between the cabins. You can simply get additional keys made once onboard and put the traveling couples back together once you are there. Of course you will want to have the discussion with the other couple prior to booking to discuss who gets the OBC. Sometimes the OBC doesn't offset the rate per person. Case in point we have booked with $500 OBC with a decent rate and my daughter has $200 OBC with a different rate but when you compare the offers the bottom line after deducting the OBC was almost identical.

Right now I do not think so, might want to call direct and ask. If not it is a really quick and inexpensive Uber/Lyft ride to the port from there. We have stayed many times at this hotel. Last pre-cruise was March 2020 (last cruise that left New Orleans) and there was not a shuttle but very easy access to ride shares.

I totally understand your dilemma. They keep putting that carrot out there for us as well and that might explain my travel habits as of lately. About to leave again this week on a cruise we booked at the end of last month when we got off a cruise and have another cruise two weeks after that (booked last year with an offer to good to pass up). My wife and daughter have an offer for a trip we are looking at in October that expires on 7/5 that we will book when we get off this next cruise. I got an offer that also expires in the same period for sailing Dec-May of next year that I may also have to book. If it looks good and you would plan on going anyway whats the harm of booking? Some of the offers also have price protection so you really can't lose.

Need to know what business college is teaching this new math. If a product has a fixed cost of $1 and you sell for $2 you have a profit of $1. Now under your new math fixed cost stays the same $1 but now we have 5 going out but only selling one. Where is the profit? Fixed cost now goes to $5 with a sales price of $2 for the only one you were able to monetize, leaving -$3 profit for every unit sold . Wouldn't be long before a place goes out of business. In a retail environment that shrinkage most often from shoplifting. Costs go up and prices go up. Now in order to make a $1 for every unit sold you must sell for $6 until morally ambiguous people ( who are now are complaining about the prices going up and justifying it to themselves and others as big business ripping off the poor people) decide instead of just stealing 5 now they can justify stealing 7. Where does it end?

I would be one that would hesitate booking this one outside of a ship excursion just due to the park being on the mainland and the extensive travel back and forth. What do expect Carnival to do if their vendor cancels on them? I suspect it may have to due with ferry scheduling and the ships arrival and departure times, with the vendor having to provide Carnival some type of guarantee of passenger and return times. Carnival had it listed as a 7 hour excursion and just the ferry trips back and forth could easily eat up 2 hours of that time then figure in the time required to wrangle up all those passengers in the beginning and the end of the tour.

Cheers is good on day one. The variety of liquor is limited to what has been purchased through a vendor that sells Alabama taxed liquor.

Alabama wants tax revenue for all liquor sold in their waters and liquor must be purchased within the taxing authority. Pretty sure just about every state has a form of this policy and some liquor laws even get more restrictive like New York and Texas.

That is correct. At this time Dr. Seuss and Tea Time are on hold. Of course by January that could change.

The Embassy Suites New Orleans on Julia has many places that are kid friendly and adult friendly within easy walking distance. Added plus you can see the ship from the hotel in the morning.

As someone that has done the Chef's Table Pre-Covid, Last Cruise at Shutdown Covid, and post Covid, we feel it is still worth it. Yes pre-Covid there was a galley tour where they had demonstrations and it was great. On our shutdown cruise they eliminated the galley tour as a precaution (nobody knew what to expect or how strange the world would become) and the demonstrations where moved into the dining venue. Post-Covid really only doesn't involve the galley tour, still get the demonstrations and the food and service is outstanding. I will book it again when given the chance. The operational pause of the Chef's Table may be over at the end of the month but may be dependent on each ships staffing levels. Ecstasy since returning to service in March has not to my knowledge had a Chef's Table and none is available for my sailing again on June30. For my Breeze sailing in July it shows to be available but I hesitate to book now until an announcement is made saying they are resuming, just don't want to tie up funds that may end up being on the slow boat of refunds.

It is due to two factors. The first is of course taxation, they want $$$ for all alcohol served in their jurisdiction. The second reason is buried in all the TABC laws there is one that covers "one price packages" which is what Cheers is. You can basically thank the old practices of "Drinking for a Lincoln" and "Girls drink all night for $1 cover" for this little insert into law. Yes other lines somehow find a way to manipulate the numbers to stay in compliance, but IMO that is a paperwork nightmare.

Not sure how "new" this is because I seem to remember this pre-Covid. Souvenir cups sold at bars have had auto-gratuity added to them for as long as I can remember (yes I have a couple of the coconut monkeys, my daughter wanted one of those fish). I would think the coffee mug probably came with a cup coffee? Seafood Shack has always been a charge and had gratuity added I think so nothing really new for me.
