  1. So if liquor enhances your taste buds, then maybe those consuming it will find food satisfactory. A double win for cruise lines, beverage package sales, lowered cost of food.
  2. Just can't find any other reason. Unless , if you have not tasted better then maybe you just don't know, but even that does not make sense. We pretty much ate pizza for 13 days, met another couple that did the same, now we are fast friends. So that was a good thing from this cruise.
  3. Yes saw it but have no clue if the shown price is already reduced or will be reduced at time of booking. This whole roll out is very muddled.
  4. Yes even on our last Viking cruise when we had the restaurant manager, confirm the bad food and make us something edible, there were those who said the food was just fine. But just about all of them had drink packages and never without a drink. Surely they had NO idea or care what the food was like. Also none of them had sailed O. You can't make comparisons if you have not sailed with anyone else.
  5. Yes we did 2 prepandemic and it was OK. Still not at the level of O but not as bad as this past March.
  6. I posted it on the guarantee topic as promised. We were given 3007, which has a port hole above water line. But on third deck, across an equipment room that emitted a humming sound for the 7 days. Would have been much happier in an inside. Will never book a guarantee again. But the cruise was very good. I am ready to book another from the 2025 collection that will be available on Oct 4.
  7. Yes and I had hoped to get the inside I paid for and nothing more. Obviously they had NO insides.
  8. Yes we were definitely willing to upgrade, but ship was fully booked, there was not anything they could do for us. What made it worse, we went from concierge level for the Alaska portion to what we called "the dungeon" for the next 7 day segment. But hey, very good cruise and chalk it up to an experience.
  9. Sailed with Viking Ocean this March. Will never sail with them again. V is far below O in every respect.
  10. It was a fully booked ship, otherwise perhaps we could have been accommodated with an inside cabin.
  11. I don't wish to be anywhere near Seattle, nor anywhere in Oregon. The state has undergone a huge transformation. We were there in 2019, Seattle and Astoria, both were booming, thriving and safe. This time Astoria reminded me of some impoverished eastern European cities, except far less safe. Loved Alaska, ports are bustling. Would love to go back, but won't, not out of Seattle.
  12. Yup found all I needed. Surprised by all the new ports to fly into and out of. Might require some creative flying and no direct options. Disappointed in the Alaska offerings for September 2025. Would love to do it again but will not fly into and out of Seattle. Any Greenland and Iceland offerings? Need to take a better look.
  13. The cruise is over. I do not consider that cabin an upgrade, even though we had a porthole, it felt like we were in the dungeon. Did our best to spend as little time in the cabin as possible. Yes it was a good cruise. An inside would have been preferred as they are all on higher floors and mid ship.
  14. Thank you. Yes saw very few options for us if we don't want allura. And no prem air offers for anything but allura. Will look on the us site, the Canadian site may be incomplete.
  15. One more. What will be available for viewing ? Booking on Oct 4? Will post what I get back from O rep.
