  1. In Casablanca it is an everything market, large but not as large as in Cairo or Istanbul.
  2. Good to see you Feta.. We will be on the Marina, TA, in November. In Morocco, Casablanca, we have a 4 hour ships tour, which includes the market. We have been to Casablanca before and loved it, especially the market. Now with what is going on in the world, I am somewhat more nervous, especially the market. Hey, hope to see you on another O cruise. We only do O now.
  3. yes September was different than now.
  4. we got an offer to bid on the top 4 cabins, owners suite etc. anyone have any experience with this and can advise how to proceed?
  5. It's not the distance from Morocco to Israel that's important , but Morocco to the nearest possible supporter, turkey? North Africa? But then there is unrest in much of Europe as well. O in their wisdom I'm sure will do what is necessary to keep passengers safe.
  6. O may cancel the port. But if not, would anyone hesitate doing a ships tour in Casablanca...including the market? There are state department warnings but nothing specific yet. We have been before and would very much like to stop again. Will see what everyone says.
  7. We will be in London, Heathrow. Any advice how to get to Southampton, bus, train, private car? Will stay two nights, then Uber to pier. Any advice is appreciated.
  8. Any thoughts of changes for stopping in Morocco?
  9. Anyone have any experience with that? How was the experience? What would you recommend?
  10. Yup cruiselines probably do have a whole dept to figure out how to save and where to cut to improve revenue.
  11. They can go much slower to the next port, thus saving fuel. And if staying in port less hours costs the cruise line less, BINGO !
  12. Very hard to prove that shortened port times are a cost cutting measure, but I can't see it as anything else.
  13. Yes we were able to save a couple of grand for both segments, Alaska and Pacific coastal. Amazing price.
  14. Hey Feta, wish we had spent some time with you. Maybe some other time, some other cruise.
  15. Thank you for this. Hopefully it can be helpful when O refuses.
  16. About 50 of those with celebrity, that we no longer sail with. Lucky, you say? What are the chances of that kind of luck. I must add, we have done 5 cruises since covid, without a single port cancelled. The one Viking, TA, had only one port, Madeira. Viking reduced our stay there to an hour and a half, pointless getting off the ship. Needless to say, we will not sail Viking again, all kinds of issues. The other 4 were with O, yes most ports are shortened, but none cancelled. I don't understand the shortening of times in port. It must benefit O. Can't just be "environmental, climate change etc". It must be something else. I still maintain it must be a financial benefit to do that. I'm sure there is someone that has an inside track, info from some operating execs perhaps.
  17. Flatbush, if you get a chance email me. Johthomas100z@gmail.com
  18. Have done around 60 cruises all over the world. Had only one port cancelled on RCL, Nassau, due to extreme weather. Can only base my comments on my extensive cruise experience. Can't just be luck. Yes in the past, missed ports for whatever reason were in the news. Maybe you just didn't see it. That doesn't mean it didn't happen.
  19. Ok guess they all do it post covid, but why? Pre covid when cruise lines were in the "green", it rarely happened, when it did, it was in the news.
