  1. let us know how you work that out... on closer inspection, our price IS 100pp more since time of booking... risk of 150pp if cancel.
  2. One of them is our cruise, we booked before SM. Asked our TA to explain what it means for us. Price has not gone up since we booked. Waiting for reply.
  3. This survey is rigged to favour lines other than O. Viking ? Holland? No way.
  4. Sailed with celebrity, over 50 cruises, elite plus, till they went class conscious and divided the dining room in half, for those in suites and the rest. Yes the food became slop for the rest. To pay for suites, might as well sail on O. So now building up loyalty with O, once we reach 19, get free cruise. But you know all that. Elite plus on celeb are things that are all included with O. We have sabotaged the original topic. Sorry to those that mind.
  5. Not sure I could enhance your knowledge of food, my preferences are pretty simple. We are on the Marina in Nov, 2023, Vista in Jan and March, 2024 Marina in Sept and Oct , 2024 Sirena Feb, 2025, Vista May 2025, and will probably book Vista Dec 2025. Booked all of them before SM, drinks of no value to us. Hope to stay healthy to enjoy all of it.
  6. Where is your next cruise? Maybe we can meet to talk about this some more. Safer than politics, or maybe not...lol Johthomas100z@gmail.com
  7. O has given us pretty good flights for November, Bcn to Mia, layover at Heathrow, only 3 hours, some concern, but going 2 days ahead so should be fine. You are right I know nothing about wine.
  8. There is no way to really discuss this unless we are on the cruise together in real time. We go together to the restaurant manager and present him with the inedible meal that is passed off as food. We did that. He agreed and was very apologetic. We felt badly for him. If a cruise line decides to downgrade the food, what can he do. This is a no win discussion, as I said before, there were plenty of people who thought it was just fine. There were all kinds of other issues, the roof would not be opened, except for once, even though smooth sea. The area could not be used it was so hot and stuffy, reason? Friction of air causes more fuel consumption. But again diehard V loyals said that it's not a big deal that you can't use the most valuable real-estate on the ship. The thelassopool was fantastic. Service was good, really felt sorry for staff, they knew they were serving substandard quality.
  9. So if liquor enhances your taste buds, then maybe those consuming it will find food satisfactory. A double win for cruise lines, beverage package sales, lowered cost of food.
  10. Just can't find any other reason. Unless , if you have not tasted better then maybe you just don't know, but even that does not make sense. We pretty much ate pizza for 13 days, met another couple that did the same, now we are fast friends. So that was a good thing from this cruise.
  11. Yes saw it but have no clue if the shown price is already reduced or will be reduced at time of booking. This whole roll out is very muddled.
  12. Yes even on our last Viking cruise when we had the restaurant manager, confirm the bad food and make us something edible, there were those who said the food was just fine. But just about all of them had drink packages and never without a drink. Surely they had NO idea or care what the food was like. Also none of them had sailed O. You can't make comparisons if you have not sailed with anyone else.
  13. Yes we did 2 prepandemic and it was OK. Still not at the level of O but not as bad as this past March.
  14. I posted it on the guarantee topic as promised. We were given 3007, which has a port hole above water line. But on third deck, across an equipment room that emitted a humming sound for the 7 days. Would have been much happier in an inside. Will never book a guarantee again. But the cruise was very good. I am ready to book another from the 2025 collection that will be available on Oct 4.
  15. Yes and I had hoped to get the inside I paid for and nothing more. Obviously they had NO insides.
  16. Yes we were definitely willing to upgrade, but ship was fully booked, there was not anything they could do for us. What made it worse, we went from concierge level for the Alaska portion to what we called "the dungeon" for the next 7 day segment. But hey, very good cruise and chalk it up to an experience.
  17. Sailed with Viking Ocean this March. Will never sail with them again. V is far below O in every respect.
  18. It was a fully booked ship, otherwise perhaps we could have been accommodated with an inside cabin.
