  1. There are still carriers utilising a one tray service in business class on long haul. British Airways being one of the worst. last time I flew Iberia two starter choices were served with the main course. whatever the catering arrangements are on any carrier right now appear highly changeable.
  2. I took this cruise with my cousin, was her first cruise. We had the best time and made great friends onboard with some amazing people. Would say this was probably the best cruise I’ve ever taken. My cruising nemesis also came from this cruise. A Gucci loafer clad British couple whom barged in front of us while boarding. Several times they were seen pushing their way into lines or being rude to staff. Last year I waiting in line at Piraeus at the allotted time and who arrives by taxi and walked straight to the front of the line. Same behaviour onboard. At the airport they pushed into the Club check in and I felt very satisfied when they were eventually sent to join the economy line which was very long by that point. Again in Miami. Now I am prepared for our next meeting.
  3. I had to look, just now on eBay as I was curious, not sure why I didn’t look at the time. For anyone wanting a tote bag, they are available from bids beginning at £3 to £16. New and old logo available. Selection of slippers and key card wallets also. Have an old bath robe from my first cruise on Azamara, slightly torn under the right arm, surely that has to be worth £50. Vintage. Was given a half dozen of the original martini glasses used onboard which I used for many years in my bar as they’re great glasses. One now chipped, £60?
  4. The first place I would look is airport parking or airport hotel and parking package at MIA or FLL. Recall seeing parking advertised at MIA at $4/night earlier this year. Was quite upset at the $4 rate as I had just paid almost $500 to park at Heathrow for twelve nights. Believe I paid about $20 for Uber from MIA to POM last time I was there.
  5. Asked by several people to bring a bag, every time. Many of my non cruising friends like them and apparently they have been available on eBay for quite high sums. Bids starting at GBP45 recently I am told, which guilted me into giving away my remaining bag.
  6. When accessing the site you select the yes option to returning traveller after selecting your date/ship etc then will use the same email as previously used. Basic details are retained.
  7. Often considered the same. I keep hoping EI may announce Manchester Miami. surely VS/DL will introduce service next year. It’s a hugely underserved market. Doesn’t help that non stop capacity has been cut from LhR.
  8. I often fly out of Manchester and connect at Heathrow with BA which has become a nightmare in the past year due to reduced flights. Drive weekly to Heathrow as I’m unable to same day connect on my regular route. Parking at LHR has become ridiculously expensive. In March I paid £326 for eleven days parking. Could have valet parked at Manchester for a third of that price. my parking bookings for November and December this year at Heathrow are over £500. Give me Manchester any day when the connection works. Miami specific, I quite like connecting through Dublin for ease and Madrid with Iberia is great if you have Avios. Business class is amazing value on Iberia. Unfortunately the current IB Express flight does not connect with the late Miami.
  9. hopefully of use to anyone looking….. Since the Heathrow drop off/pick up charge was introduced that’s impacted fares. uber has never been a great option into central London, usually at the same price point as a London cab. You will likely find most if not all transfer services are around the same cost. Certainly worth taking a look. All Terminals are well served by the Piccadilly Line which is around 45 minutes into central London and rail service into Paddington. Heathrow Express is quicker yet a lot more expensive than the other rail service with stops. TFL and Nationrail both have decent information. public transport really doesn’t work for everyone, especially with luggage.
  10. I’ve called and been repriced to the current offer with Azamara a couple of times. Most recently the fare difference was GBP1525 less and an additional USD450 in OBC. I do find Azamara very good for this and took advantage on the last two bookings I travelled on.
  11. I find $25 daily minus loyalty discount very reasonable for the ultimate package. A single glass of half decent champagne and a Perrier would cost more than $25 in a bar at home. Even if I could cruise luxury lines for the same price, I’d choose Azamara. I may complain constantly at paying 100% solo supplement, however, my next three bookings are 25% and the addition of the ultimate package and the Wi-Fi still make for excellent overall value. Think I’m correct in thinking the vast majority of repeat passengers are more interested in the overall experience provided by Azamara and we could most likely all manage a week with the complementary inclusive drinks if we had to. More so with Fever Tree being stocked at the bar.
  12. That is exactly how it should be. The first time guest should have the USD150 credit. If my circumstance it’s not worth calling about as we will both make joint use of the OBC overall.
  13. I recently submitted a refer and receive request. The OBC was showing in my account within three days of the request, although to my booking, not my friends. We have linked bookings on the same cruise so that’s not an issue. My understand regarding the FCC is that I will receive that after my friend has completed the cruise, not after final payment. Hope that’s helpful.

    Choice air

Personally I always found the business class and Premium Economy options hugely overpriced. Especially when departing London. I do know people whom have had very attractive fares through Choice Air from North America to Europe. With the current issues involved with air travel the added security of using choice air is helpful in the world of ever changing schedules and cancellations.
  15. I received a balance payment reminder one calendar month prior to the balance payment. This came from accountsreceivable@rrcl and states payment can be made in my account on azamara.com. As we all know this isn’t the case. Below is the text from the email. Have tried calling a few times recently to pay the balance on two booking and given up after very long hold times. Online payments would certainly make for a smoother process. To make a payment, simply log in to your Guest Account on www.azamara.co.uk or contact one of the team on 03444 934016 (calls charged at local rate). We do not charge for credit or debit card transactions but your card issuer may charge you an international fee if your booking is in a different currency to your card. If you have already made full payment, please ignore this reminder and accept our apologies for any inconvenience. Thank you for choosing Azamara we look forward to welcoming you onboard Azamara Onward.

    Nice to Monaco

The helicopter transfers take about five or six minutes and includes transfer. From arrival at the desk in Nice Airport you could conceivably be at the pier within twenty five minutes. obviously better to pre book, however, it’s a good option when in a hurry. Worth considering in such circumstance. Walk up prices will be a little more than pre booking. I’ve usually paid about €90, have been told prices have increased this year. Monacair, Heliair, sure there are a few companies. Take a look at the websites for an idea of pricing.
  17. Smokers are generally very social and I always find non smokers finding their way to smoking areas.
  18. Nini, that’s a huge saving. You’ll enjoy NZ, three hours in AKL will fly by. Nice airport to transit and you happen to hold Star Alliance status the NZ lounge is very nice. Otherwise you’ll find great coffee and be on your way to Aus in no time.
  19. Twitter is a good suggestion, never even thought of that. I have inadvertently left things on aircraft and ships more times than I care to admit. Usually always reunited fortunately. The only time I wasn’t was a very expensive jacket left in a Sydney hotel which was offered to be returned by Fed Ex at a substantial cost. As I was travelling to Sydney a few weeks later I asked for it to kept for collection. On arrival five weeks later I was told it was kept for thirty days then ‘disposed of’. I never stayed at that property again.
  20. Found diamond earring in safe in 5602, assumably left from sailing departing Southampton 04JUN22. Guest Services were less than interested, if this belongs to someone on here, it was handed in. looked like the sort of earring that the owner would not be happy having lost.
  21. Mid section of suites when I was onboard last year. suspect this have changed though.
  22. Premium Economy with QANTAS is a pleasant comfortable experience and the service is very good, don’t imagine you’ll be unhappy at all. Considering the current difference in fares between Premium and Business I’m very happy on QF in Premium. I recently booked Perth London in Premium on the 787 which is a horribly long flight. Id rather take QANTAS than Singapore or Air NZ in Premium. I would say the comfort level is much higher. Have no personal experience with the US carriers in Premium, although I often hear good first hand reports about American and United.
  23. I travel through Heathrow at least twice weekly, everything there has been a constant annoyance for months. I have found transiting to me a more pleasant experience. Security is quick, although have experienced a couple of very long delays - not in the past month however. Long waits when entering the UK in both T3 and T5. Average seems to be 30-50 minutes when I have entered. Did make it through in under five last week at T3. secutiy is under staffed and long wait times. Fast Track often operating on reduced hours in T3. aircraft parking seems to be constantly delayed as does finding staff to operate the airbridge. Very much an issue in T3. T5 lounges are very busy, T3 is better, although AA have closed their lounges. luggage delivery ranges from as expected and no delay to over an hour as the worst I have personally experienced. Had similar issue at T4 in Madrid with security times and luggage delivery times, although generally much better than London.
  24. Good carrier, very consistent in service standards and quality. HEL is very easy to transit. Lounge is excellent. I have flown AY connecting in HEL many times to Asia. The new business class product looks interesting and have not seen anything negative.. Personally I’d take Finnair with one stop over SAS non stop.
  25. Correct me if I am wrong, the requirement is the negative result certificate which would be sent by email. Whether one takes a video supervised test or an in person test a certificate is issued and that is the requirement.
