  1. Thank you. Bags are in the car and I'm sitting here waiting until it is time to leave for the port!
  2. We are in the Haven and I believe there is a separate entrance at the terminal. I do have the umbrella ready though.
  3. When you get in to port in the morning can you please post which terminal you are at?
  4. We have gone to Alaska in early September. The weather was great except for one rainy day in Juneau. Next summer we are going in early August and doing a land/sea tour. I'm hoping we enjoy it as much as the last cruise.
  5. We have the paid tour booked for our sailing. It was a bit pricey, but my husband is a captain (on much smaller vessels) and it's something I know he would enjoy.
  6. Inquiring minds want to know......it being the holiday season, is there eggnog available on the ship?
  7. Exactly. None of the people I know would book Haven and I would feel compelled to dine with them in the MDR.
  8. We have done the suite category on Dawn (no Haven), so this is our first Haven experience.
  9. I'll be in the Haven on the 16th sailing. I'm so excited since this is our first post-covid cruise.
  10. The last time I sailed (7 day cruise), I tipped the butler $200 and the concierge and room steward $100 each. I don't tip until the end of the cruise. I plan to do the same on the 7 day cruise I am sailing on this month.
  11. Agreed. We have gone on two cruises with friends. One was absolutely miserable and the second only tolerable. Never again.
  12. My husband and have vacationed a number of times with friends (including cruising) and have decided we prefer vacationing by ourselves. It wouldn't be a pleasant surprise for us.
  13. I am sailing in the Escape Haven on the 16th. I am planning to tip the butler, concierge, room steward, and bar staff. I am bringing thank you cards to write a personal message to include with the tip.
  14. Me too - couldn't progress to the next step without watching the video. I watched it twice - once for me and once for hubby. The check in didn't like hubby's picture, but took mine. After two tries with hubby's it just said they would take it at the terminal. I printed out edocs this morning. The excitement builds!!
  15. Lol, I don't eat meat, but we have a reservation at Moderno for my carnivore hubby. Last time we dined there, they kindly offered to serve me a piece of salmon. I took advantage of their offer along with the fantastic salad bar and had a wonderful meal.
  16. I suppose I am overly excited since this is our first post-covid cruise. Pre-covid, we sailed 2-3 times per year. I was absolutely giddy checking in today for our December 16th sailing out of Port Canaveral on the Escape - in the Haven! We live about an hour from the port, so it will be an easy drive for our 10:30-11:00 am check in slot.
  17. I'm going to have the opposite issue when we go to Alaska next year. Leaving from Florida in hot weather and cool to cold (Anchorage and Denali) at the other end.
  18. We stayed in an Owner's Suite on the Dawn and it was amazing. Separate tub and shower and the tub has a window that looks out over the side balcony.
  19. Hubby and I took our dream Iceland trip this past July. We did an 11-day self-drive tour of the country. It was amazingly beautiful and everything we thought it would be and more. I'm so glad we went when we did because I would be nervous about taking the same trip now. I watched some video of the damage in Grindarvik and couldn't believe my eyes. That was one of the places we went to on our trip. It's devastating how many people are displaced and had no time to gather many of their belongings.
  20. My husband is a planner. He starts asking for details as soon as I book.
