  1. Considering the announcement the other day re China opening for cruise ships, 🤞 a newly amped Allure might be heading east and doing the itineraries that the Wonder was supposed to do before getting redeployed.
  2. Hope you don't mind, but can I ask you for a massive favour? Seeing as Ovation is such a tiny ship, next time you see him on board (would be in the next hour or 2 I'd imagine 🤣) can you please ask him to jump back in his time machine and find out the winning lottery numbers for next weekend? I really don't want to have to get off Ovation after my 3 nighter on her in early November
  3. Praying that it's Steve Knisley. He was only on Allure for a month or so which I thought was rather short (the presidents cruise was during that time also). He was great on Ovation down in Australia last summer so fingers crossed he'll be bringing her home to Sydney in a few weeks.
  4. The only people who are stiffing them are their employers who don't pay them a proper wage
  5. As you probably know Australia and Alaska generally share ships, The Ovation repositioning from Sydney - Hawaii can be booked so you can safely presume that Ovation will be in Alaska. Quantum's repositioning from Brisbane is still to go on sale so that's looking less likely, especially as the Royal Australia boss was on TV over here saying he's hoping for a year round ship in a couple of years.. The smaller ships, it's probably too early to say.
  6. The reason that it never landed is probably because the Quantum class only have a winch pad rather than a helipad. A winch pad is basically when someone from the helicopter comes down onto the ship on a rope, rather than the helicopter actually landing on the ship (that would only happen if it was a helipad). I can't say for sure but I'd imagine that this would be because the specific area of the ship that has the winch pad would be unable to hold the weight of the helicopter
  7. I'm sure I read somewhere on CC that the senior staff on Anthem were saying she was going to Alaska then to Australia, so Quantum may be heading back up to Singapore
  8. Ovation showing up regularly in Sydney from 31st October 25 through 11th April 26. A combination of 2 night, 3 night, 4 night, 5 night, 7 night, 8 night, 9 night, 10 night, 12 night and 13 night sailings.
  9. Correct. It was supposed to get them in 2020 but the amplification got canceled because of Covid.
  10. Over the 22-23 Australian season, Ovation had John Grantham, Chris Brown & then Steve Knisley, and Quantum had Steve, Mike Hunnerup and then John. In the past, Joff has regularly been on Ovation down here, and I believe he'll be bringing her down from Alaska this year
  11. I was in solo cabin 7650 in February on Ovation, so the one directly above yours. The rescue boat is in front of your room, so definitely not as big of an obstruction as the lifeboats
  12. Just a thought on this, Anthem would be due her 10 year dry dock in early 2025, perhaps they'll bring it forward and just do it as soon as she arrives in Singapore and take the chance to introduce Asian language signs etc. Quantum is due in dry dock in Singapore mid-late October 2024 so Anthem could just go in after Quantum.
  13. Anthem's last cruise of the 2024 season gets back into Southampton on 14th October, so I'd guess it would be leaving for Singapore sometime around then.
  14. Actually, just answered my own question. From Singapore Cruise Society on Facebook " A NEW SHIP FOR SINGAPORE? Royal Caribbean has also announced today #AnthemOfTheSeas will be taking over the baton as Singapore’s home ship as #SpectrumOfTheSeas redeploys to Shanghai in 2024. She will bring to the market for the first time, a full threatrical production #WeWillRockYou, Two70 spectacular #SpectraCabaret and the classic #JohnnyRockets. Royal Caribbean Singapore did not however share an opening date for reservations, though stating ‘in the coming weeks’."
  15. Hmm, I guess that all but confirms Anthem to Singapore after the Southampton 2024 season. But what will sail from Singapore between May and Anthem's arrival?
  16. If booked on the Royal Australian website, it's in AUD and all gratuities are automatically included
  17. From memory, I think Singapore is to be released in July sometime? With China, I guess it's probably more a case of wait and see on whatever restrictions may be in place
  18. Australian 2024-25 season itineraries on sale on 4/5. Ovation and Quantum based here again. https://www.royalcaribbean.com/content/dam/royal/international/aus-new-deployment-2021/AUS-24-25-cruise-planner.pdf

  20. The deployment schedule would suggest the first week of May.
  21. I'm guessing we'll find out in a month or so. Australia 24-25 for Royal goes on sale first week of May
  22. Are you sure about that? I've had 2 cruises on Ovation this summer, November to the Islands and went to NZ last month. On both occasions, we were told there was no need for passports and we only needed the incoming passenger cards
  23. Must be a ship based thing. On Ovation last week, generally 3-5 per night, some with a backdrop and others not (photo's with The Via, Esplanade etc as backgrounds)
