  1. Is the floater a dark rum? I was at RFRB and saw a bartender make what I THOUGHT was a Pina Colada with dark rum (Myers specifically) and that was what I wanted so I ordered a pina colada then watched them proceed to make it with light rums. When I asked, the bartender who made mine what I should have ordered from the menu to get a dark rum, he acted like I was crazy. He said they didn't use Myers in frozen drinks. Liar. I watched the other one! Insert Eyeroll.
  2. Yes both are Carnival excursions. Booking on your own might save some money but I am fine with paying a little more to not have to worry about something running late, missing a port, etc.
  3. Ill chime in from a smaller couple's perspective. We are both on the thinner side and even our reaction in a balcony cabin on Celebration was What Were They Thinking? We didnt have any issues, but dang ... there is NO EXTRA SPACE in there. I can see how many people would be incredibly uncomfortable. The shelves are also awkwardly placed beside the toilet and not as easy to reach than a typical layout -- and more likely to fall off into an open toilet. I kept most of my toiletry items in the cabin area. Otherwise we loved the cabin, and the shower doors were a nice change from curtains.
  4. And to add to the mystery, a check of port schedules on cruisemapper still shows all the original port days still intact. ??
  5. Has anyone noticed the port dates have been shuffled for the May 18 Greek Isles cruise? We take a lot of excursions and I had already prebooked. Will the excursions update to the new dates? Right now my planner is all messed up! Shows our Pompeii excursion which is now a Ses Day .... and Mykonos excursion in another port, etc. Just wondering when the change happened and how long it will take the planner to update. Last ... will dinner reservations stay with the Day or the Port? I had schefuled those based on what we would be doing in port ... big lunch, etc. Now that's messed up too. 😞
  6. Also, depending on the popularity of the ship or itinerary, the offer may not last long. Once they put out the offers, the first person to snag the offered cabin number gets it. No bidding. Last year, I clicked on an offer to go from balcony to suite only a few hours after the email arrived, and by the time I looked at cabin numbers and cross checked the location on the deck plans, it was too late.
  7. We took our first trip across the pond this past August, having done most ports in the Caribbean at least once and some several times. We did the 12 day Pride from Dover which included three of your stops. I can't say enough good things about the trip! For a Euro- Newbie, it was an awesome way to experience the best that each city had to offer without needing to do anything more than pick excursions. Could we have found other options? Sure, but why stress about it? Carnival had plenty of great options in each port, and the amazing sites and some with included food options were perfectly fine. On our 12 day itinerary with 8 ports, our excursions ran an average of 200 per day total. Worth Every Penny! We also stayed 3 extra nights in London to do our own tours. If a trip to Europe is in your budget, then GO!! See a city, enjoy the evening on the ship, sleep, repeat! No driving, no trains, no hotel hopping. Just be prepared for intensive excursions. The ship at night is more low key than a Caribbean cruise. People are Tired!
  8. Traveling the Greek Isles this summer on Odyssey. I will only need service for one day, possibly two, to handle a couple of work things that must be done during the trip. Other than that, we stay completely disconnected while we are on vacation. My planner only offers the full trip package. Does RC offer a daily option like Carnival?
  9. I'll get my Platinum card on our Spring trip, but DH is a few cruises behind me. So, can we still enjoy Priority boarding together? What about the Platinum cocktail event? Is there a +1 for that? Just curious how it works when we have One Gold/One Platinum.
  10. That was it! I purchased each excursion separately and then made dining reservations and drink package as two other orders and it all processed smoothly! Prices were up roughly 50 bucks over yesterday's dynamic pricing. Now I'll just hope Black Friday isn't some much better deal ... even though the site says these ARE the BF offers. We'll see. Thanks for the tip about purchasing individually.
  11. Last Friday?? This is our first time with Royal .... You would think they would have been able to fix it before the holiday rush began this week. 😞
  12. Anyone experiencing issues purchasing items online today? I have all my shore excursions and onboard things in my cart but payment will not process. I've been trying every couple of hours since last night.
  13. We are regular Carnival cruisers, getting ready to try RC in May. We've done the Panorama sister ship, Horizon, twice. And most of the other classes too, so here's some tips. Carnival shows aren't as flashy from what I have gleaned from my RC searching but they are fun. The Atrium bar typically has good music. The piano bars are usually lively. The Serenity Deck is nice for quiet adult time. Kids Clubs are great! The Panorama has the private Havana area, but only Havana rooms or Grand Suite has access. Try the Fahrenheit Steakhouse -- it's very good. Shipwide the Kiss on the Lips and Pineapple Chipotle martini from Alchemy bar are popular drinks, as are drinks from Red Frog. Panorama has Hibachi for a fun dining experience. There's lots of good seating areas on the Vista class outdoors too. Have fun!
  14. We will need a transfer from Odyssey OTS in May to FCO. Can anyone recommend a reliable service? We're doing a week in Rome pre-cruise so our flight back to US is around 1 pm. Ship docks at 5. I assumed off by 730 or so, travel to FCO, still leaves 3+ hours for check-in. Just need to figure out the right car service.
  15. Yes that name sounds right! Awesome! We're sailing Celebration for NYE!
  16. Sunrise and Horizon between August 21 and October 22 were both great! I can't remember names but Horizon last summer had a piano player who was a blast -- floppy hat, boisterous, jokes, talent. Sunrise over the holidays was still very good -- guest interaction, jokes, overall good time. Horizon this summer was also good. Each performer offered a unique spin on what a piano bar should be like. The Pride, on the other hand, well I feel your pain. It was sad songs, slow songs, lackluster. She was actually talented. Saw her with Playlist ... she could play. But she had no idea how to entertain a piano bar crowd. So I guess my point is, you never know what you'll get.
  17. We have a Med cruise in May. All ports have listed excursions except Naples and Ephesus. Any idea when these will populate too? Is there a reason why 5 ports would be listed but not those? Thanks!
  18. Where do you go to book? Guest Services? A special table? The venue? New to RCI with 2 upcoming in 2023. Still trying to learn all the new rules v. Carnival.
  19. This is what I thought and had heard also. Just off the Sunrise this a.m. and now waiting at MIA. Our spa balcony was only 60 bucks more than regular one if I recall correctly but I won't choose one again. Our spa hallway had kids in multiple cabins, and families who stood in the hallway at all hours yelling back and forth. The kids were actually quieter than the adults. Robes were heavy weight and scratchy therefore not used, and the thermal area on Sunrise is already small but the Aromatherapy room was out of service all week. The body scrub kit was a nice touch but not really worth the 20 it would have cost to buy another one for the 2nd person in the cabin. The ship had more movement than we have had on 7 or 8 midship also. So overall I'm glad I tried it, but like the Aft area that I tried last year in another ship, I'm just sticking to midship from now on. Been there, done that, and like it better.
  20. Yes. Just off the Sunrise. The mid level per day was 20, highest was 30.
  21. You can call the 800 number and ask for it to be added.
  22. I need Zoom. Will mid-level do Zoom?
  23. I asked a similar question a few weeks ago and got some replies. I also sent three strings of emails back and forth w Casino Dept and they could only say, in different words, "sorry we can't explain how the process works for the slots or prize categories or even tournament rules. You'll find it all out once you board." Wow. But someone here on CC said good luck ever finding a table to play anytime on the cruise because slot lovers book these and sit at the machines all day, every day. So ultimately I decided not to book that.
  24. Does anyone know what the Day rate is for the Wifi Premium package? I will need Wifi a couple of days on an upcoming cruise to check in on work related things, but don't want to pay for the whole week if I don't have to. TIA
  25. Agree that Havana makes for a very relaxing trip. We've only had it the one time on the ABC trip on Horizon, too, and it came with the GS upsell we had (which was reasonable imo). But I'm wondering how it was in the Aft balcony? Did you feel much movement or vibration at the back? Did any noise from the Havana area filter up to the balcony? Did you have any issues with soot as others have reported on aft balconies fleetwide? This would help us decide if we want to splurge for the Havana area again, because we definitely are not GS people as a usual thing -- although I wish we were! Thanks!
