  1. Also posted in another thread about the Pride. What do you recommend for the transfer back on the morning of debarkation? I know how smoothly the process has been going for us with 4 cruises now since the restart in the US -- straight through the customs line, out to the taxi and at MIA in under 30 minutes from the time we are called to debark. But what about Europe? I had planned to just take the Carnival transfer, but how long does that process take?? I assume we would have to wait until a shuttle was full. Would it be easier to pre-book a car service? That's how we are getting to Dover (a couple of days early, pre-cruise), but if I go that route, then how would I choose a time for them to pick us up? Would 8:30 a.m. be reasonable? 9:00? I don't want to be charged for the service waiting on us, but I also don't want to have to sit and wait on them .... and I'm assuming that taxis aren't just standing by to go to London/LHR. Or are they? That's quite a long haul. The private car to Dover ran 205 (in pounds), while Carnival's shuttle would be 200 USD for the two of us. So, price wise, it makes sense to take a car back, but I have no idea how long the debarkation process takes, or how to plan a return car to be at the port at the right time. Flight Time is a non-issue, as we are staying an extra day, but I want to be able to go into London for some sightseeing by early afternoon after we drop our bags at the LHR hotel. Any help from seasoned Pride cruisers? trying to get excursions, hotels and bookings all finalized so I can relax until time for the trip! Thanks!
  2. New Question for those of you who've done European itineraries -- what do you recommend for the transfer back on the morning of debarkation? 3. I didn't catch his last time -- not one of these guys in the photos.
  4. Just off Horizon 8 day yesterday. Curiosity has got the better of me .... Donkey, our CD, simply disappeared mid-cruise and Christian took over. Anyone know what happened? Other crew members mentioned they were about finished with their contract and would be taking breaks this summer, but during Bingo on last Sea Day several people asked about Donkey during a Q and A break mid-game, but the question was repeatedly ignored. Just curious if anyone knew, as we saw him at several events and he had not referenced wrapping up mid-cruise. He was our CD in August too and we really enjoyed his enthusiasm. Hope he is okay.
  5. Just off the Horizon. We were able to call the night before, but only tried it once as they didn't get the order right the next morning.
  6. Just wondering about the temp in the cabin. Are you not able to adjust this individually in each cabin? Traveling on her in July ... DH is ALWAYS cold, even when I'm sweltering. 😞
  7. Completely voluntary. Just back from 8 days on the Horizon. Saw masks occasionally, few and far between, mostly among the older guests.
  8. How close to sailing do bids open up? I see bids are taken until very close to sailing, but when does bidding begin?
  9. We did a snorkeling tour at Amber Cove, which was really good. Compared to Roatan snorkeling, which was a 10 in my book, I'd give AC snorkeling a 7, but DH says he feels the opposite .... so YMMV. The snorkeling excursion came with a decent picnic-style lunch on the boat, and all the rum punch you could drink.
  10. Now that you've given it a name ... interporting... I see there are a couple of other threads on here about it. Glad to know I wasn't the only one confused by this concept! Thanks!
  11. Yes ... and now, just five minutes later, the June 1, 8 and 15 sailings are back on the site from Rome. That has to be a glitch with their system, but the Barcelona sailings all still show as well. Thursday to Thursday from Rome, and Sunday to Sunday from Barcelona. Is that right? Or a system error with booking options?
  12. We are brand new to RCI, but not to cruising. Last week, I booked Symphony OTS for June 1 out of Rome. It still shows on my bookings page. Was just doing some price checking today, and that's not even an offered sailing now. Instead, I see Symphony sailing out of Barcelona on June 4. Is this how RCI works? Will it pick up more passengers while we are docked in Barcelona for the day, where those guests will begin a 7 day journey? Just trying to make sense of this, as we have only cruised closed loop cruises in the past. Why has the Rome departures (which had been listed for June 1, 8 and 15) all disappear? Did RCI make an itinerary change and forget to notify us?? Any words of wisdom will be appreciated before I start making calls and sitting on hold!
  13. We are scheduled for testing at Walgreens on the 26th.
  14. I believe this means a tornado outbreak in your area within 24 hours or so that impacts travel; hurricanes in your local area; blizzards and other provable treacherous conditions, and things of that sort. I would not expect they would cover heavy rainfall or minor snowfall that would be inconvenient but not necessarily dangerous or impractical. Note that I have no experience with this, but it's just what I would expect!
  15. Preparing for our first European cruise too! I looked on Amazon and found two kinds ... one labeled European that looks like the photos posted above, but another kind labeled for UK/Ireland. These are different? Two kinds are needed?? We are going out of Dover on one cruise, and Rome on another. Looking for advice. Thanks!
  16. Way off topic BUT WHAT??? Delta price matches now? Or do you mean you can just cancel and rebook using a credit?
  17. The new policy in the post-Covid Era is once you use your Early Saver price drop feature and lower to new rate, you no longer get future price drops unless the new rate code has that feature. Many people found that out after accepting a lower rate, posted about it here on CC, often a Resident Rate. So if you go with Early Saver, use your price drop wisely when you've decided it's truly worth it. We just got 503 OBC by switching codes, and I'm not even going to look between now and my cruise to see if it drops more. I don't want to know! I was happy with the 503.
  18. Have you thought about the itinerary at all, or is it just about the price? Also, hurricane season is peaking in September if that concerns you .... not necessarily just at sea, but land impact on travel.
  19. The fine print on Cruise Cash states it isn't refundable or transferable to a different cruise. On the off chance that we had to cancel a cruise, would that mean we are just out that money?
